You and your party will be the ONLY campers here. We offer 3 options for our one site based on your camping style, but once the property is booked, we close off the additional two site options. The site features uncommon privacy along with exclusive access to a beautiful section of the Yadkin River featuring a wadable and swimmable series of mostly rock filled pools and riffles. Approximately 1 acre of shaded lawn-like grass with an established fire ring is suitable for tents, camper vans, and large RV’s. Your dogs are welcome to roam off leash! The site is accessed through an almost entirely flat hayfield via a mowed trail that is easily accessible throughout the year via a 23-foot-wide entrance, except for during extreme wet weather. Nearby tourist attractions include: The Chapel of Rest, The Patterson School, Fort Defiance, the Happy Valley Filling Station, and much more with Blowing Rock and the Blue Ridge Parkway being on 15 minutes away.

Welcome to Peak A View Farm & Camp where Rest and Relaxation are a Reality! Come enjoy the beautiful landscape of the western mountains in Ashe County, NC on ninety acres of farmland and forest surrounded by mountain peaks, the New River and breathtaking sunsets. On the drive in, to the southeast you can see Peak Mountain for which the property was named. The mountain is part of the New River State Park and is known for its scenic river views and hiking trails. Two RV buddy campsites are available on the property. Campsite #1 was originally created for our personal use. Campsite #2, so our fellow camping buddies could join us. Although a short drive from our homes, the serenity of the property always makes us feel as if we’ve travelled many miles. Campsites are laid out in an ‘L’ shape which creates the perfect group camping experience. Guests can choose to camp alone or invite others. Campsite 1 and 2 are reserved together as one booking due to the close proximity of the sites. The property is secluded, but easily accessible. Campsites are full hookups which include water, sewer and 50 amp electric. Both sites can accommodate any size RV. They are gravel and level which makes getting set up easy. A 30 x 30 shelter with concrete floor, lights, picnic tables and trash bin is nearby, which is a great asset in any weather. A fire pit and chairs are a nice addition for evening enjoyment. Firewood is provided. WiFi is available. The area is pet friendly. Pets can be off leash, however, you might consider leashing your pet, as wildlife is frequently seen. If your furry friend is anything like our dogs, the chase is on when a deer, squirrel or turkey makes a sudden appearance! During your stay, take a 7/10 mile walk down to the New River. Pull up one of the chairs on the small covered deck overlooking the river, sit back and take in the sounds of the calming waters. Watch floaters, kayakers and canoe navigators pass by or enjoy your own floating, fishing and swimming. On the other side of the river is part of the New River State Park. A 15 minute drive will take you to downtown West Jefferson for restaurants and shopping. Visit the Ashe County Chamber of Commerce online or downtown for information on our county’s many attractions and events.

Absolutely perfect. Trevor met us upon arrival and he was so kind. Thank you for sharing your land. It was very private and could definitely accomadate more than just two people. The space is huge and peaceful. I loved having the picnic table right by the car. The smaller campsite #2 was not booked but we walked down to it and it's plenty spaced out i dont think you'd be able to hear anything if it was booked.

Beautiful property. Our families enjoyed the peace and quiet. Little to no traffic along the road. I think we saw 10 cars all weekend! And the River is gorgeous. We definitely want to get back in the summer and enjoy some tubing. And town is less than a 20 minute drive to enjoy restaurants and shopping. Thanks Steve and Penny.

This was the perfect peaceful and private campsite! We had plenty of room for 2 tents (one being very large). Very close to nearby hikes and towns for food/supplies. Trevor was also super helpful in guiding us to the site since we got there after dark. Would definitely recommend this site!!

Stayed here once before and loved it so decided to have my birthday camping trip here! Spacious campsite that feels secluded. The land is beautiful. Great area, super close to amazing hikes. Lots of flat ground for tents. Definitely need a 4 wheel drive car to get up hill!! Will definitely be back again!

Great place to stay! Host are great people and very welcoming. The campsite is very private and has amazing views. We enjoyed relaxing fires every night and watching the fog lift to coffee in the morning. The access to the river is a huge plus. The trail to get to the river is beautiful itself, but the river front is perfect. Our dogs enjoyed running around and we enjoyed relaxing by the water. This place is added to our list of sites that we will be returning to in the future.

It was great. We loved having our meals out under the pavilion, rain or shine. It was also wonderful letting the dogs run around unleashed. They were able to run out some energy and crash. The river is truly picturesque. Steve and Penny were quick to respond and very accommodating.

We had a fabulous time camping at Peak-a-View! We were welcomed by Penny, and she even had a bag with brochures to local activities. So very thoughtful! Full-hook up, private, AND gorgeous views could it get any better?! Yes, it can...because there was a magical trail to hike down to the river! We floated down the rapids, went fishing, and played games (there is an overhang at the river with chairs and a table). Our pup was able to roam free, and our children were able to ride their bikes down the drive. We were able to enjoy the firepit with the two chairs, and they provided firewood! The stars put on a show, since there is not light pollution. We saw many birds, butterflies, wild turkeys, and deer. The covered patio with picnic tables and trash cans was great for meals and games. There are a lot of great local hiking trails; we enjoyed hiking in Mount Jefferson State Natural Area. We also had a lovely time exploring downtown. We will be back!

We had a lovely time at Trevor’s beautiful campsite. The sites were private and spacious, with a fire ring, picnic tables and plenty of spaces to set up tents. It was also nice and quiet. Trevor was wonderful at communications with us, and even though he couldn’t meet us, arranged for someone else to meet us and lead us to the campsite (thank you Milton!). 10/9/2024 NOTICE: We had some damage to our road due to Hurricane Helene that made it impassable. It has since been repaired and is opened to traffic. There are still some remaining rough areas, but the road is easily passable by passenger vehicles and RV's up to 28ft. Our site was once part of a much larger farm growing tobacco and raising cattle and other farm animals. The existing tobacco barn was built in the early 1960's. The concrete pad used for RV camping was used to store silage for the cows. The non-potable water source is a mountain spring that has been used on the farm since the 1930's. While many tobacco barns in the area have been torn down for their rusted tin roofing and rustic siding, we have worked to restore the barn and preserve its history.

We purchased it in 2014 and converted it into a vineyard. We have RV sites with 50 amp and 30 amp electric hookups and water, and tents sites. For 2023 our rates are $30/night for RV Sites (50 amp or 30 amp electric hookups and water) and $25/night for Tent Sites. We do not have a dump station, but we do have a Port A John and a list of dump stations nearby. Campfires are allowed unless we have a state issued burning ban. Campers are responsible for controlling and extinguishing fires. Please be extremely careful during dry or drought conditions. Welcome to Peak A View Farm & Camp where Rest and Relaxation are a Reality! Come enjoy the beautiful landscape of the western mountains in Ashe County, NC on ninety acres of farmland and forest surrounded by mountain peaks, the New River and breathtaking sunsets. On the drive in, to the southeast you can see Peak Mountain for which the property was named. The mountain is part of the New River State Park and is known for its scenic river views and hiking trails. Two RV buddy campsites are available on the property. Campsite #1 was originally created for our personal use. Campsite #2, so our fellow camping buddies could join us. Although a short drive from our homes, the serenity of the property always makes us feel as if we’ve travelled many miles. Campsites are laid out in an ‘L’ shape which creates the perfect group camping experience. Guests can choose to camp alone or invite others. Campsite 1 and 2 are reserved together as one booking due to the close proximity of the sites. The property is secluded, but easily accessible. Campsites are full hookups which include water, sewer and 50 amp electric. Both sites can accommodate any size RV. They are gravel and level which makes getting set up easy. A 30 x 30 shelter with concrete floor, lights, picnic tables and trash bin is nearby, which is a great asset in any weather. A fire pit and chairs are a nice addition for evening enjoyment. Firewood is provided. WiFi is available. The area is pet friendly. Pets can be off leash, however, you might consider leashing your pet, as wildlife is frequently seen. If your furry friend is anything like our dogs, the chase is on when a deer, squirrel or turkey makes a sudden appearance! During your stay, take a 7/10 mile walk down to the New River. Pull up one of the chairs on the small covered deck overlooking the river, sit back and take in the sounds of the calming waters. Watch floaters, kayakers and canoe navigators pass by or enjoy your own floating, fishing and swimming. On the other side of the river is part of the New River State Park. A 15 minute drive will take you to downtown West Jefferson for restaurants and shopping. Visit the Ashe County Chamber of Commerce online or downtown for information on our county’s many attractions and events.
