2 nights at Canopy Ridge Safari Tent

This was the perfect glamping experience. Cozy bedding, impeccable tent, and perfectly clean. We stayed in tent 1 and could not have been happier with all of our accomodations, the king bed was so comfortable, one of the best nights of sleep ever. Even during a major thunderstorm everything was cozy and dry. Highly recommend staying here anytime, can't wait till we come back again!

The stay was amazing! The cabin was the perfect size for us and the dogs! The weather was absolutely beautiful which allows us to go hiking at some nearby trails. The cabin was equipped with anything we could have needed and more. We loved the hot tub and fire pit and were able to see the stars from each spot. Definitely will be booking a stay in the Fall. Kevin the host was super nice and accommodating, got to chat with him on our last day before we left. Looking forward to our next stay!!

Pros- This place is peaceful. The view was mesmerizing. We really enjoy the pop up camper. The hosts were super responsive. They provided us with everything we needed to get to the site. The best part is that they have WIFI. Cons- Camp sites were way too close to each other. It was hard for us to turn on our music enough for all us to hear. All of our concentration was focused on trying to not be too loud. Since we didn’t want to disturb our neighboring sites. For those of you, who like the idea of Meet and Greet while enjoying the beautiful nature view, then this place is for you. The bathroom was super clean. It was good opportunity to get few steps in lol. But it was a little far to walk down in the middle of the night.

It was spotless, stocked with everything needed, and it was such a pleasure speaking to Kevin. Clearly a top notch human being. Couldn’t have been happier and would stay again in an instant.

My husband and I just stayed here. This spot was great! Very well thought out. From providing coffee, basic toiletries, even a collagen face mask! We had all the basics we needed to cook food. Breakfast was on their electric griddle, dinner was cooked over the fire on their campfire grill. They also have a counter top toaster oven with lots of features but we didn't use it. Lots of plants to identify, forage. Cleared path to walk to the top of the mountain. The hot tub was awesome, the deck was where we hungout the most, and the firepit was great (comfy chairs too!) The privacy, ease of check in and check out and all the great touches made this a great spot for us. Cell reception is good. Internet good. We will be back!

4 nights at Cold Spring Basecamp

Excellent example of what a true Treehouse should be. This tree house is supported by four large trees 3 of which are growing through the deck and front porch. There is one tree that is actually inside your bathroom next to the shower. The treehouse is wonderful sitting high above the road below. Beautiful sight when leaves are off the tree as you come up the driveway. Our camp host was great checked on us occasionally. Definitely respected your privacy. The Treehouse has many windows sliding door and glass porch door as well as sliding bathroom door with frosted glass top panel. My wife was a little taken aback at the lack of privacy curtains but she soon got used to the fact that it was still very private. Opening the windows with screens allows the air to circulate through the cabin. The central heat and air is great for when you want to be warm or get really cool. There is a small in-wall thermostatically controlled heater in the bathroom. You can turn it from warm to hot and it will cut itself on and off intermittently. Definitely nice when you're in the bathroom and you vent the sliding windows. Be aware there is no television however we streamed music and video streaming services on our tablet if we wanted something to listen to or watch. We have Verizon cellular service and had decent connection with no problem streaming. Again you're in a treehouse in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina unplug and enjoy.

The cabin was perfect: all you could imagine needing for a solo retreat in a blissfully quiet and serene location. Hot tub (pre-warmed!), fire pit (stocked and ready to be made and lit!), cosy weatherproof cabin (it RAINED and was windy for a bit overnight).

Campsite was beautiful! Well water tasted fresh, porta potty was super clean and Blair mentioned he will have a bath house later this year. We loved how spread out the campsites were and felt very private with out own little creek. The creek crossing was mild and stock forester and 4runner had no issues crossing.

Daffodil Bank had plenty of room for our family of 5. 2 tents, 1 single person tent, canopy tent with our folding table plus the camps picnic table, 2 cars, and a couple places for a hammock. All that set up and still have space to move around. The Porta potty was very clean and not far from our site at all. The creek was beautiful. Everyone had a very nice time. So sad we had to leave, but we will definitely be back ♡

The views are hypnotic and look down and out over the continental divide. Good morning sun and sunsets can be seen in the same spot. Your car is parked within feet of your deck so Car Campers and experienced campers can enjoy. Designed with campers and dogs in mind. The deck is large (384 square feet) with a tin roof. Some roofs are full size, some 2/3rds and some 1/3rd, depending on what one wants for tent size or sun exposure. (See pictures of each site/deck) Each deck has sun and rain curtains for helping keep comfortable in normal weather. Dogs enjoy a two gate system so quests and dogs can be leash free and away from the road. All dog owners know to pick up after their pets. The human Private Porta John is cleaned weekly. Lights and electrical is 110V (3 prongs) for YOUR coffee pots, electric grills, mattress inflators, crockpots, electric blankets fans, etc. I do not provide any electrical appliances, other than counter area lighting and low level string lights so one can see the night sky. Many of my campers will "Pay it Forward" and leave coffee pots, hot plates, fans and such, so count yourself lucky to find a deck with them. I provide chairs, 5 gallons of fresh water in containers, fickle solar shower and pop up changing room along with an assortment of camping supplies from dog bowls to antimicrobial wipes. Private decks on a dead-end gravel road mean hopefully the sounds will only be of nature. The conveniences of electricity, porta john, water, chairs, table, roof, cleaning supplies, rain curtains, and astounding views have my Glampers coming back often. Designed with Dogs in mind with a two-gate system and no need for a leash when on the deck. Obnoxious, barking dogs are not welcome, so bring only controlled and well socialized dogs. The Smokey Mountains, Gatlinburg, and Dollywood are about a 2 hour drive through amazing mountain views. The annual Rhododendron Festival takes place minutes away. Supplies can be found at the state park camp store or in town at Redi-Mart or Dollar General. Water and showers are down by barn. A Gator is available for the duration of your stay. Please arrive before sundown so we can meet you the first time you stay to show you the way and make sure you are comfortable driving Gator. We will have you follow us up to the campsite and from there you can come and go and just leave the Gator by your car near the barn when you are out and about and when checking out. A small Bluetti power charging station will be available in the tent (for light charging of cell phones, other) which can be recharged by the barn if used heavily. A Coleman stove with a small propane tank, pots, a frying pan and utensils is also included in the site. Another small propane tank is provided for the radiator in the tent.

The structure is an 8x10 A-frame that transforms via a hinged wall into an open-air cabana with a charming deck that affords spectacular views of the French Broad River and surrounding countryside. The interior of the Quack Shack, with its vaulted 11-foot ceiling and earthen plaster walls, provides a warm glow in a rainforest environment. It is furnished with a comfortable seating area surrounding a coffee table that can be easily converted to a full-size queen bed at night. On the outside deck are beach chairs and a chimenea available for use. The quack shack has electric power (1 outlet only). Amenities include a bathroom located a short walk away at the main building as well as an open-air on-demand shower located off the bathroom on a deck overlooking the French Broad River. Morning coffee and tea is available at The Tea Hut located just a hop, skip, and jump from the treehouse. NOTE: The Duckpond Pottery is a working studio pottery and gallery that is open to the public. It is also home to occasional open-air house concerts on the deck at the pottery. This home was built in 2019 by an expert craftsman with the vision of making it cozy and spacious with sweet artistic details and lots of care and love. The home is 300 sq feet but feels much more grand inside. You will be nestled on 14 pristine acres of forest, with two decks, your own personal private hot tub, and a spring fed creek not too far down the driveway. There is a gas fireplace outdoors on the porch, and an outdoor fire pit for your use as well. The house has a queen size bed in the upper loft, a large twin day bed on the first level, and an extra loft with camping mats if needed above the day bed. The house can comfortably sleep 3 and up to 4 or 5 especially if a couple of them are children or petite people. The house has a full kitchen and bathroom, living room area and two lofts. For now there is a composting toilet that is easy to maintain and we are happy to help you with it if you’re on the land for more than a few days. The main house is about 30 yards up the hill, and although somewhat close, you will have plenty of privacy. We are close if you need us, but we try to give all of our guests ultimate privacy. The house is under a huge magnolia tree, so it stays shaded in the summer and quite cool. There is an AC unit and heaters in the house as well. There is a personal hot tub, which is screened in, and located on the front deck of the house now. You will love it! There is a back deck that is only for meditation, yoga, and bird watching, and we ask that folks stay silent on the back deck if they use it. Pets are welcome at an extra charge of $40 a night. If anything is needed down at the house we are available. Much of the time there is a massage therapist on site, so if you are interested in getting Bodywork please just inquire about prices and availability. There is also a wood-fired sauna on the property, so if you would like to sauna please let us know. And an added bonus is that you are only 5 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway and LOTS of great hiking, great restaurants, bars, coffee shops, art galleries and more. Asheville is 15 minutes from the tiny cabin and Weaverville is 10 minutes away. On any given day you might see a family a deer, turkeys or bears in the front yard. There is a spring fed creek on the edge of the property you are welcome to soak your feet in, and there is incredible hiking just a few miles away. You are welcome to explore the 13 acres of property as well that the home is located on. This is not a place for parties. Our neighbors are about 200 yards down the hill so we try to respect their privacy and keep it quiet. That is why we have made the back deck a retreat/silent deck. Maximum of 4 guests.

I sleep a lot on the day bed in the living room so the Sawmill can be comfortably rented for up to 4 guests. The outhouse is a thing of the past, just recently I installed a compositing toilet besides the bedroom.We also offer The Summit which is a high elevation, 2-story cabin surrounded by national forest which has evolved into an off-grid living and play space located at nearly 3300 feet elevation on a 1/2 acre flat with an incredible view. There are very private old forest service trails leading directly into the Pisgah National Forest.
