We had another great weekend at the meadow. The grandkids fished and play all day and enjoyed their s'mores at night around the campfire. The site includes the use of the campers cabin with a bathroom and sink along with the outdoor shower. Those extra comforts make it a special place to enjoy the camping experience.

Weekend Trip to Farm Stay at Saxapahaw Country Club

We rented 'The Whole Enchilada' for 7 families with kids ranging from 4 to 7 years of age. It was the perfect way to initiate them to tent camping and they all loved it. We can't wait to go back. Wes and Kaitlin are superb hosts, very responsive and accommodating.

Phillip's property was absolutely perfect! Great shade throughout the day, but plenty of sun around too for solar or warming up after a chilly night. The most private/peaceful hipcamp on my journey this spring. The outdoor shower was perfect with plenty of hot water. The small bathhouse was so nice, with fridge and freezer space if needed as well. (Every hipcamp should offer this to travelers!!) I slept soundly after watching fireflies dance around the pond and listening to the frog symphony. I absolutely hope to stay again sometime!!

A great quiet spot to get away for the weekend. You feel away from it all but still close to things if you need that. The other site is far enough away that you don’t hear your neighbors or the host family at their home. Bekah was a great host & super friendly. We stayed in the wooded spot. There was a nice breeze & the sun still comes through enough throughout the day for a nice hammock nap. It’s a pine forest so prepare for ticks who love that kind of environment. We found several on our shoes & pups while there. There is also service if you wind up having to work while out. 😬 The pups also loved the freedom to roam the trails. We’ll go back again to check out the field site.

Weekend Trip to Idlewild Farm Stays

We found this campground while trying to find a place to park our RV during our trip to Rockingham for the NASCAR truck and Xfinity races this past weekend. We were not familiar with the area, and information was not readily available online for camping options. We were quite pleased to find this option. It was a very quiet area, and had plenty of space to maneuver our 36 ft. toy hauler into our spot. We had a water and electric hookup, but sewer was a porta john tank across from our spot. I wasn't sure how that worked, so we opted to drive to a Love's Travel Center on our way home to dump our tanks. Host was very communicative, though due to our plans, we never got to meet in person. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

We always love staying at Legacy Farms. It’s always a nice peaceful getaway, and allows us to reconnect with each other as a family. The kids love helping out on the farm, and spending time with the animals. As always, Liz and Tom are friendly and accommodating, and very patient!

2 nights at The Pint Sized Pasture

This site was nothing short of amazing. It was peaceful and relaxing and the animals made it all the more worth it. If you're looking for a place to stay away from the city, this was the place to be. Patrick and Mrs Linda were very accommodating, and Moses may be my new best friend! 10 out of 10.

Rural Chapel Hill Forestry Stay

Our property is a private 25 acre forestry plot connected to an adjoining 130 acre family-owned plot, with only 1 house on the 150+ acres. Most of the land is wooded with a couple large fields. Long private driveway. 3+ miles of private maintained walking trails great for human and dog guests! There are a number of creeks that run on the property and a decent size pond with many species of birds- perfect for watching while having a morning coffee, or for an afternoon stint of fishing. Close proximity to downtown Carrboro and Chapel Hill (12-15 minutes), 15 minutes to downtown Hillsborough, and 25 minutes to Durham.

The Saxapahaw Country Club is a beautiful 31-acre working farm and event space. Located just a few minutes from Saxapahaw Village, it's a convenient and gorgeous place to stay. While we are happy to be a late-night crash spot for after shows at the Haw River Ballroom, we hope you stay a minute to walk the fields, hang in the hammocks, sit by the pond, or take a swing from the branches of our 200 year old White Oak tree. You'll come down our curvy driveway through the trees, and see our event barn on the left. In front of the barn is a communal space for campers to enjoy with a great view. This area has a fire pit, chairs, wood-fired grill, handwashing station, and farm table. The shared outhouse/composting toilet is next to the pine stand with a white roof. Please note, this farm stay is an agritourism activity subject to the limit of liabilities as described in N.C.G.S § 99E‑32(b). We have sheep and pigs and a donkey rotating through pastures behind electric fencing. You are welcome to look but don't touch the fence! We also have 3 very friendly farm cats. Pork and lamb from the farm is available for purchase, as well as kiln-dried firewood. Nearby activities: Entertainment: Catch big acts at the nearby Haw River Ballroom venue or enjoy free live music at Saturdays in Saxapahaw. Shop vintage, records, VHS and more at Saxy-a-Go-Go. We are a peaceful campsite located along the Greenway Trail 20 minutes from Downtown Raleigh and 10 minutes from Clayton. The farm offers private wooded meadows with direct access to the Greenway for walking and cycling. Campers can either rent a tent or bring their own, choosing between secluded spots, shaded areas, or open spaces. The campsite is accessible via a gravel farm track and is close to the Greenway, river, and main house for bathroom access. Nearby attractions include the Bailey Sarah William Preserve with 447 acres and 16.6 miles of multi-use trails, Sandy Pines Preserve with 563 acres of trails and fishing (18 minutes away), and Robertson Mill Pond for trails and seasonal kayaking (17 minutes away). For water activities, Neuse Adventures Canoe and Kayak Rentals is just 12 minutes away. We carved our 43 acre horse farm out of wild swampy land in 2007 and finished the barndeminium in 2008. We started with Hipcamp 6 years ago & enjoy meeting new people. My husband is retired from the Air Force and works full time doing the chores. I retired May 2024 from being a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner at Womack Army Medical Center. I have a side hobby making homemade jams, pickles and flavored goat cheese spreads. We love the peacefulness of where we live...although the weather chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, guinea fowl, peacocks, goats and horses do get a little loud come feeding time. We have different sites, please read each description or message me before you book a stay. All the sites have an 8pm latest check in unless you've stayed with us before. With the cold snap we have been experiencing the RV water source will freeze up over night. Please message me before booking the RV. We are constantly looking for ways to upgrade or make our farm more fun to visit.
