The Jones Family owns and operates JCO (Juniper Creek Outfitters) since 2020. The Historic Pond dates back to 1773 where a grist mill, sawmill, general store, and blacksmith shop were established. The land was once our 6th Great Grandfather's and how Fountaintown was formed. The property consists of 84+ acres: 22-acre lake, swamps, creeks, and farmland. We are in a farming community. We take pride in stewardship of the land and waters to keep its natural beauty and help with keeping the balance of the ecosystem. Many animals call it home! (Heron, Ducks, Osprey, Turkey, deer, beaver, fish, and many other wildlife) We have a lake Cat named Tail. She may greet you! The Ponds are stocked with Bass, catfish, crappie, bluegill and more. Catch and release. NC fishing license required.
JCO currently has 9 RV/Travel Trailer sites on main side that wrap around the lake. A Floating cabin and an A-frame Glamping cabin on main side. Across the lake we have 12 primitive tent sites that spread-out around the property. Views of lake and sunset, little pond, swamp and creek views. The lake is a Fishing lake. Kayaks and trolling boats are welcome. No gas motors. Upon booking we can send a local tourism guide for the area. We are only 50 minutes from the beach and coastal towns. Pet Friendly campsites. Our little private campground is a hidden jewel in the making. Each campsite is private. We are not a parking lot like so many campgrounds are these days. We are still currently working on infrastructure but are willing to host campers that are self sufficient at a reduced rate for now. We do have a fun play ground, hiking trails, a steam we lovingly named Alligator Gore (to keep the little ones out of the mud). We are pet friendly. Each site has a fire ring or fire pit. We have a full bathroom available. We have a small camp store. We have group camp sites, pull through RV / Camper sites and a few glamping cabins. Located only 40 minutes from the NC coast and much more affordable and less crowded. We are still growing so we do not have a pool yet but will have one in the future. We do have a kids and youth program with weekly crafts and other activities. Picnic tables are available on some sites. Almost across the street is a wonderful boat ramp and fishing spot on the Cape Fear River. Canoe down to a sand bank about a mile down river and have a romantic picnic. A Celtic themed restaurant, the Mad Boar, is just a 10 minute drive if you are looking for a unique farm to table experience. And Duplin Winery is just 15 minutes away with tastings and tours. Located just 10 minutes from I-40 off US 41 we are easily found. A diamond in the rough.

We enjoyed our stay at Bright Star Farm. It was nice and quiet. The directions were clear and the spot was very nice. They have a nice bathroom. We enjoyed seeing the peacocks and the miniature horses were adorable. It was nice getting a bit of history from the owners and the were super friendly! Would definitely recommend.

Have stayed here 3 times now. This place is a camping gem. Beautiful piece of property. You really feel tucked away in the forest. Still can’t believe this is so close to my house. Highly recommend for a weekend get away! Also - the owners really take pride in these campsites. You can tell they have put a lot of hard work into their land!

This campsite was so quiet and quaint. A family oriented spot near a decent sized pond with campfires and other amenities available (i.e. kayaks). Owners are wonderful, kind folks. Would definitely recommend for a quiet weekend getaway. Especially for those new to RV-ing.

So accommodating for our Girl Scout Family camping trip. Fishing, swimming, kayaking, canoeing available plus small swing set area for little ones. Camp in the rough or glamping with water & electric hookups both are available. Small store with bail, firewood & accessories on site. Note there is no bath house with showers available & only portable toilets at this time.

Wonderfully secluded campsites a ways off the highway, on the banks of a beautiful little pond. Some of the sites are not numbered, so I'm not entirely sure which I stayed at, I think Site 8, but it is beautiful. At night, there were fireflies over the pond, which I haven't seen in years. The gravel/dirt drive back to the sites around the back pond is a little rough, especially after a rain, if you don't have 4WD and good ground clearance you might want to stick to the sites closer to the road. There's lots of wildlife, you'll scare up a few rabbits on the drive back, and I woke up to wild turkeys not a hundred feet away one morning. There is a little traffic noise from the highway, but the crickets and cicadas mostly drown it out. Overall a very pleasant and peaceful campground.

Nice size well kept sites overlooking the lake. Very quiet area back off the road.
Not too far to drive to a farm store, restaurant, or to get gas. Within an easy drive of a city with many options -40 minutes or a smaller city-20 minutes.
There are geese that are hanging out by the lake, a trail to hike or bike, and lake fishing at the site. The view is great just sitting by the camper also. We really enjoyed it and the host family is super helpful with suggestions of places to go.

I love my experience here every time I come out here it’s quiet it’s peaceful very secluded. When you have other campers come out here they never bother you. It’s a very peaceful tranquility spot. I’m always gonna recommend people to come out here all the time and the reason why is because sometimes you just need to go set your ass up up in the forest, a.k.a. your tent and once in a while, just spend a little time in nature and just kick back and just really appreciate life once again. This is the most amazing property that I found the host are amazing people and their property is an amazing property as well

My experiences are very enjoyable here. I would recommend it to everybody and anybody prices do vary though through summer and winter 19 in the winter time and 29 in the summer spring I don’t know about fall yet, but let me tell you it is the most amazing spot.

This a great little spot with a very nice pond. The owners are amazing. They made it feel right at home. The pond is a good size to bass fish or just take a kayak for a stroll. A ++ place to relax.

Another amazing stay at JCO! It's Beautiful, it's Peaceful, and it's Safe. We have been amazed how quickly we feel at home here! After this weekend, we have dubbed this our FAVORITE place to camp! The hosts are amazing, understanding, and accommodating! We truly and honestly recommend this campsite. It is the absolute BEST!

With pets
It has been a little while since our last visit and once again were very comfortable with our visit. Contessa was wonderful and greeted us on our arrival. Even though we knew where we needed to go she insisted on taking us to the site and made sure we were happy. Her son was great showing the way to the site on his bike. The site was clean and grassy. My dog loved it. He also enjoyed the swim in the lake.
