Have stayed here 3 times now. This place is a camping gem. Beautiful piece of property. You really feel tucked away in the forest. Still can’t believe this is so close to my house. Highly recommend for a weekend get away! Also - the owners really take pride in these campsites. You can tell they have put a lot of hard work into their land!

This campground, while very beautiful, its not at all private/ secluded as advertised. The tent sites are way too close together.... So close that I could hear my camp neighbors passing gas, pooping, and snoring. The tent sites are stacked on top of eachother with no space to breath, and they are all located right off the main drag, so no privacy, EXTREMELY noisy with nearby construction/traffic, and with complimentary USED HEROIN NEEDLES left on the picnic table too!! Our rude neighbors blasted Marilyn Mason on a speaker during the day, and at night all we could hear was them fighting, then f**king, then snoring. There was an un-trained dog, off-leash, pestering us at our campsite.... (the campsite I reserved for my family & my dog, for some peace in nature)... the other dog was very aggressive, kept trying to attack my service pup, who is trained to be off-leash, (so that he can fetch aide if needed for medical.) While normally I wouldn't bat an eye at off-leashing, however, it is absolutely necessary to leash/ lead when your animal is a threat to others safety, nevermind being an absolute nuisance & pest... I had to keep my TRAINED SERVICE DOG isolated & confined to the tent at all times, so that the aggressive dog couldnt engage with him! Eventually we had had enough, so we relocated to the most isolated campsite (hilltop site) to get away from all the negativity.... but with ZERO trees for shade, its brutally hot... There were no trails or scenic views to enjoy either.

Good fishing and easy access!

Had a great time camping out, probably a little hot for most this time of year so I had the whole camp ground to myself. It’s a nice little spot right off the side of the road with some decent fishing, definitely going to have to go back!

Double ponds great fishing

Overall, we had a fantastic time camping at this location. The highlight for us was definitely the two large, well-stocked ponds. We spent hours fishing and were thrilled to catch some hefty largemouth bass—it made the trip even more memorable. The ponds alone make this spot worth coming back to. The only thing that stood out was the sheer number of ants. They weren’t a major issue, but it was a little unsettling to see black ants literally everywhere—spread across the acres we camped on. It didn’t take away from our trip, just something future campers might want to know. Still, between the beautiful setting, great camping experience, and especially the fishing, this place really delivered. We’d happily return.

Wonderfully secluded campsites a ways off the highway, on the banks of a beautiful little pond. Some of the sites are not numbered, so I'm not entirely sure which I stayed at, I think Site 8, but it is beautiful. At night, there were fireflies over the pond, which I haven't seen in years. The gravel/dirt drive back to the sites around the back pond is a little rough, especially after a rain, if you don't have 4WD and good ground clearance you might want to stick to the sites closer to the road. There's lots of wildlife, you'll scare up a few rabbits on the drive back, and I woke up to wild turkeys not a hundred feet away one morning. There is a little traffic noise from the highway, but the crickets and cicadas mostly drown it out. Overall a very pleasant and peaceful campground.

I love my experience here every time I come out here it’s quiet it’s peaceful very secluded. When you have other campers come out here they never bother you. It’s a very peaceful tranquility spot. I’m always gonna recommend people to come out here all the time and the reason why is because sometimes you just need to go set your ass up up in the forest, a.k.a. your tent and once in a while, just spend a little time in nature and just kick back and just really appreciate life once again. This is the most amazing property that I found the host are amazing people and their property is an amazing property as well

My experiences are very enjoyable here. I would recommend it to everybody and anybody prices do vary though through summer and winter 19 in the winter time and 29 in the summer spring I don’t know about fall yet, but let me tell you it is the most amazing spot.

The open space was great. We have a 20 ft travel trailer and we found a great spot by the first pond up on the hill. There were a few others out on the property but we had plenty of privacy. I would highly recommend this place.

2nd time here. Love this spot. Great for a quick overnight camp after work. Only 10 min from my house. Very peaceful property. Loved the addition of the picnic bench!!! Would highly recommend.

Great quiet and private experience, there’s a little noise from the nearby road but nothing too distracting. Veronika was extremely quick to respond and was very accommodating. We will definitely camp here again!

Great piece of property to explore with 2 large ponds. Close to town, but feels secluded and quiet when out there. Property was clean and enjoyable. Would highly recommend and will be coming back in the near future!

Had a great time! Stayed for 3 days. Everyone was very friendly and respectful. Small pond with fish and beautiful property. Would definitely recommend for anyone camping in a tent!

Awesome private camping spot with easy access into Swansboro, camp hosts were lovely to meet and extended offers to help with anything that came up during my stay. Campsite has two little ponds awesome for fishing.

Veronkia's land was a great spot, easily accessed, and lot10 was the best spot. Always sure to be pretty secluded there. And the pond right in front i could drag the kayak to in the morning was the highlight.. Caught two 2 lb bass out of the kayak before breakfast while the wife watched from up at the campsite with her coffee by the fire. Great little spot! We will return.

Hilltop is a great property and Veronika is an awesome host. Very cool layout of the property with sites located all around the property and really clean too. Veronika does a great job of maintaining the area and it probably helps when you have respectful campers. If you are into primitive/tent camping this is affordable option not too far from the beach. I will definitely be back again. Thanks Veronika for everything!!!

The site is beautiful, but currently under renovation which causes it to be a bit rougher of a drive but nothing major. 2 ponds on the property drive in all the geese and the view is just breath taking with the sunset colors. The area is decently quiet with a freeway nearby but doesn't really get loud at night. Fishing is allowed for a $5 fee/day and they also sell firewood which is convenient. Overall we had lots of fun!
