We loved tent camping. Great amount of room. Great fire ring, more than enough firewood. Clean and well kept. Just a text away if you need anything. Wifi not available to all spots, they did say they are working on getting power and internet to all sites. The restroom and shower also clean. We will be going back.

My friends and I, 9 total, camped here for two nights and had the best time! The bathroom was nice, the picnic table and trash can were well kept and set up for us, and the neighboring sites weren’t close enough to be an issue. Would definitely come back!

Despite the holiday weekend, the experience was mostly private. Nick and other staff are friendly and engaging, and there are camp animals and family/kids underfoot in a way that I found charming and are a big part of what make private campgrounds great. That said, a lot of the guests are mid- to long-term residents so the space is not necessarily set up for the out-and-back camper. The property is just outside a sleepy town with a family dollar and gas station. Just about 15 minutes to the nearest bigger town of Wallace, NC.
Cannot say enough good things about the camp bathroom. Clean, well lit, maintained, easy to find. Only one facility for everyone, though, and the shower is in with the commode. So if one is taken the whole facility is closed.

Nick's Nook was exactly what we needed - a safe place for my kids to play and explore and a comfortable, reliable place to camp for the weekend.
After booking, I was immediately contacted by Ela, letting me know of additional amenities available by the date of our stay and important info to know. The campground was easy to find and located in a quiet area.
Nick promptly greeted us upon check-in and showed us to our cabin. The cabin definitely allowed for the glamping experience with A/C, mini fridge, a light and lots of plug ins for my electrical devices, lock + key. The bed was comfy and place was free of bugs/issues
Our site was rather spacious, with our own fire pit and firewood, canopy with picnic table.
For my younger kids, there was a pool, new swingset, zip line, obstacle course, playground and lots of room to explore. They also had an onsite shower and bathroom + are 45 min from the beach.
The neighbors at the campsite were adequately spaced from each other and we met some really nice folks, especially Nick and Ela's grandchildren. This whole family is so respectful and kind and easygoing.
Also, there was a friendly dog and a few cats on site that my kids loved to play with. We also had record breaking temps and Nick brought us over a fan in addition to the a/c and ice pops.
I highly recommend this site and we will absolutely be back again!

Overall great experience....also our first experience camping.
A little disappointed in the site ie we were right next to a field that had manure spread the week before so to say it smelled is an understatement.
No wood at the campsite so we had to venture off to gather our own wood although it was offered it was just back at the front of the property and we had no way to carry it. Water on site so that was nice. No wifi though unfortunately as it was offered as one of the amenities. Host said the site was to far away from the office.
Front desk was very nice and we got checked in right away as a matter of fact we checked in 30 minutes ahead of check in time.
You could hear traffic and motorcycles go by but all in all pretty quiet. We were the only people there so it made for a peaceful night.
Overall we had a good night just should have lowered our expectations a little.

Great location! The hosts were very helpful and the facilities were as described. It was so much nicer than trying to camp as a group at a KOA or something like that. We will definitely come back if we are heading this way again.

The campsite area itself is nestled nicely between some fields. Spaces are big and area is well kept and clean. We don’t know if it was the time of year or the area, but it was not very quiet. Dogs barking all night at the farms, farmers working their fields til 10PM and campsites are really close together. Not very private or quiet. The noise issues are probably out of the owners hands, but solitude is not to be had here. Another positive you don’t get anywhere else was the free fire wood. That was such a huge bonus and appreciated.

Overall, we had a good visit to Nick's Nook. Wasn't sure what to think when we first pulled in and saw what looked like a long-term RV resident colony, but after meeting the friendly owners/staff and being directed to our site, we felt much better. The spot was extremely clean and private. It offered a treed spot with dedicated parking, a covered trashcan, water pump, fire ring, and new picnic table. Ground was clear of major debris and soft with pine needles. We were given plenty of firewood to start and told to come back to the front office if we needed more. It was slow burning so we went and purchased some instead.
Upon setting up camp and getting the fire started, we were in relaxation mode. That ended upon seeing/hearing the farming tractor start up (which went on all through the weekend, though this may be seasonal for harvesting and we just happened to pick the wrong time). So note that the location is ON an active working farm. You could hear the vehicles from the roadways, but that wasn't too bad - the nature noises could block that mostly. But what couldn't be blocked out were the hunting gunshots and barking of nearby hunting dogs (I assume close to a kennel) which went on all hours of the night.
While we still had a good time and the spot felt incredibly private (we had the tent area to ourselves and were far from the RV area), just be aware of the surrounding noises you may hear. Staff were great though and we made the best of a beautiful place.

We used Ela’s cabin as a pit stop on our drive to Florida. It was perfect for us to safely rest and jump back on the road early the next morning! We really appreciated being able to settle in for a few hours without any hassle!

I loved the location of the campsite. Ella's family was sweet and very helpful. I would definitely recommend, as we loved our short stay. They do have a small store on site and if you stay in the campsite they are very well shaded. We had three toddlers and they had a blast running around the area

Me and my family absolutely enjoyed ourselves, we had the site to ourselves and the owners were so sweet and helpful. Loved the rocks at the end of the trip that the owner brought us to paint as a parting gift for the last of adventure, looking forward to going back and seeing our art work on display.

Nick and Ela were great host, so kind and helpful and communicative. Nick took us to a perfect spot where we could tow the boat in and turn around. We loved the privacy and the wooded area, they even provided us with a grill, washing bucket, fire wood , and running water.Bathroom was a quick walk and clean. If we are ever back in the area we will stay here again.

Great little spot for an overnight or weekend stay. The site was quiet and peaceful and we enjoyed our time there. Nick was very welcoming and helpful with everything we needed. It was right down the road from some good fishing spots as well!

Me and my brother had plans for camping. The original spit fell through so I booked this very last minute. Like packed and just bought ice with no place to camp. We lucked out. Our camping spot was huge...very spacious and private. The spot was clean and level. It even had a brand new table and trash can. The staff is the friendliest and nicest I have ever experienced camping. Period. The brought olys firewood several times free of charge. They brought us big containers of water, a tub, and dawn for doing dishes and stuff. By the end of the second night they had us running water. The son came out and invited us to come out for chili. They have a bathroom/shower house that was super clean and had hot water...and not well water. I would definitely go back.

The small cabin was neat and clean. Rain had been expected and we were happy to have the protected space. There was a heated bathroom nearby.
The lofts are difficult to access especially if you are older which we are.
There were some unleashed puppies from a resident on the property that were a bother all morning.

It was not what we expected we rented 2 nights Saturday and sunday night we ended up only staying Saturday night the communication was amazing between the owner and me when we pulled in it reminded me of a place where rv go to die but we ignored it directly next to the office is a giant hole in the ground next to a playground looks like could have maybe a pool one day then we get to the camping spot that we rented and the grass is completely over grown they had just installed the fresh water pipe to the left of the camping spot witch had made the ground completely uneven there is a cabin that directly faces the spot witch made it completely uncomfortable luckley no one had rented it one good thing was they had a fresh fire ring with wood allredy stacked fo us we polightley asked for a more private spot and was told it was the best they had so we set up and left for dinner went to mad boar came back for the night expecting a peaceful night unfortunately it was not the sound of generators running all night the sound of 3 of them in harmony was the worst sound ever to sleep on so had a rough night no worries i went to the shower which was surprisingly nice got excited for a nice hot shower nope no hot water I can go without everyday comforts but hot water is not one of them so we left and went to a better camp ground about 30 min away

Our stay included a flexible check in time, our helpful host opened our windows and provided a step ladder before our arrival to climb up on to the bunk beds. We enjoyed the beautiful peaceful nature, a nice bathroom which was always available, the ability to borrow a generator to power the provided fan and lamp in our cabin. I had really strong feelings of nostalgia the whole time we stayed, and I didn’t want to leave. The host was super helpful with the directions to guide us back into town. My party and I had a great time and wouldn’t hesitate to revisit.
