With mountain views, rustic and comfortable campsites, and abundant plants and animals to appreciate, Green Haven is a peaceful destination to get away from it all and enjoy spending time immersed in nature and mountain solitude. Wildlife abounds in the area. Deer and white squirrels are a common sight. Tall white pines, poplar, and rhododendron shade the campsites. Enjoy mountain spring water during the winter and spring months (seasonal water supply). Build a crackling fire in the fire pit from available pre-cut wood and existing dead wood around the campsites. Hike the property on the designated trails and discover rock outcroppings, long range mountain views, fern forests, and a variety of wild mushrooms seasonal. Families, individuals, and groups alike enjoy camping here!
We have 3 very private campsites. "Chanterelle" campsite has a fire ring, picnic table, pit latrine, and accommodates up to 6 people. "Fern" is our 3 sided A-frame shelter that comfortably sleeps 4 people. It has as a fire ring, picnic table, and its own pit latrine. There is a spring a few yards up the gravel road from Fern. The third site, "Big Rock" is a group site located at the top of the property, offering mountaintop views. Must have V6 or 4WD to access. Big Rock has a fire ring, 2 picnic tables, and its own pit latrine.
A seasonal spring (Oct-July) is available on the property, drink at your own risk. There is also a small stream, Piney Branch, that runs year round (see map). There are three marked hiking trails. Please use the map to stay on property.
Green Haven is centrally located 20 minutes between Brevard and Hendersonville. DuPont State Forest is 25 minutes away and it includes hiking, mountain biking, and waterfalls. Boaters will find the French Broad River, Horseshoe Bend, river access less than 10 minutes. More mountain biking at Ride Kanuga and Ride Rock Creek downhill mountain bike park 15 minutes away. The 7 mile paved Ecusta Trail from Horseshoe to Hendersonville is open, several miles away. Nearby breweries include Mills River Brewery and Bold Rock Cidery 15 minutes away.

The upper camping area has plenty of flat areas for vans, cars, trucks and tents, and if you don't mind carrying our tent down the hill, the lower creekside camping area is THE PERFECT stargazing spot. There's plenty of room to set up any size tent down there, too. basically, You have the campground to make yourself totally at home.
Site 3: Simple Car Camping Spot - Just want a spot to pull over camp for the night close toDuPont State Forest? We can make that happen. No tents allowed here, but it's a peaceful alternative to a cracker barrel parking lot.

Once you set up camp feel free to visit the Coffee Shed - It's a small shed on the property by the house that has everything you need to make a great cup of coffee. Coffee is always free. :)
I have fire pits, tables an, if I am home, I have a super cute corgi that roams around the property throughout the day. If you spot me outside feel free to say hi or ask any questions about the area. I love helping guests find new places to explore.
You will be about 8 minutes to DuPont State Forest (my favorite hiking and biking area) which has miles and miles of hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding trails. The entrance to Pisgah National Forest is about 15 minutes away as well so it's a convenient drive to visit the forest and drive up to the Blue Ridge Parkway.
I also own a company that guides "coffee hikes" to local waterfalls in DuPont State forest. You can find more about that in the photo descriptions. :)
Please note!! My road up to my driveway is steep and bumpy. It’s only 0.3 miles up but bumpy. You don't need four wheel drive but higher ground clearance is recommended. (I have had small cars make it up but it is a bit intimidating if you are not used to driving in the mountains). if you have a small car just go slow. :)

If you are planning a larger group camping retreat and want to book the entire campground (including the main house with indoor shower, restrooms, and full kitchen and spare bedroom) I can make that happen for $500 a night. We had moved to this beautiful quiet country road the year before after spending 15 years in the hustle and bustle of West Asheville. Sleep under the stars while listening to the river run while staying on a working farm! During the summer months watch our vegetables grow and the pickers pick! The winter months you'll enjoy a sea of green as our cover crop takes over the field.
You can cool off in the river or check out the surrounding Pisgah National Forest. Dogs on leashes are welcome and owner is responsible for cleaning up after pet.
The farm provides a portable toilet but no other amenities. Campfires may be restricted, so check local regulations. This is a working farm, so please be respectful of the crops and workers and keep dogs on leashes. Fishing is NOT allowed on the river unless you have booked a trip with one of our guides. Please note, if it’s rainy the roads will be muddy and 4-wheel-drive vehicles are the best option.
Head 4 miles east to the town of Mills River for restaurants, stores, and services. You can find hiking, biking, and horseback-riding trails within a short bike or car ride in Pisgah National Forest. Chimney Rock State Park is 25 miles east and offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountain scenery. Or perhaps go for a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

We had a great weekend staying in the Teela Springs Cabin at Cold Springs Basecamp! It was probably the easiest camping trip we’ve ever done as a family. No need for a tent or cooking gear since it was all included with the cabin. A great way to get outdoors and spend time with the family. The cabin had a lot of privacy compared to the other sites we saw which we really enjoyed.

The property is a gem in this area. The rustic cabin was perfect for our group. The facilities were impressive. Nicest campground bathrooms I have ever been in. The cold plunge and sauna was a nice touch and unique. There are trails on the property for hiking or biking and even a waterfall. Great place to base camp and would highly recommend to anyone!

Great site, secluded from the other sites by placement and hedges. Stream bridge was wonderful for sitting on and our dog loved splashing around in the water. Plenty of shade for the hot days and lawn area was well taken care of, we went barefoot our entire stay. Would highly recommend site 1 and we will be back whenever possible.

The small town of Cedar Mountain is very special with a bike repair shop (Hiker and the Hound), and live music at a great cafe (Cedar Mtn Outpost) and a very cool Cedar Mountain Canteen and beer garden!

Fantastic spot and great communication with Phil. Privacy tents were clean, grass was moved and there was even a gallon of drinking water at each spot.
If you gonna go to this Hipcamp with a big truck and have a bigger teardrop trailer, it's gonna be tight getting through the narrow road leading to the campsites.
Definitely recommend this awesome spot, and hope you will also have a chance to see the Bald Eagle.
