Please read the entire listing because I have updated this page. The booking is for 2 people, any guest after the initial 2 or pet will be $10 per night. Add them as extra guests Pull down a paved road and get out of your car and sit down at a picnic table in front of a private waterfall! This site has a pull through, full hookup spot with 30amp for campers but tents are always welcome or a combination of the two. I've had a 33' camper, popup camper and 6 tents at this campsite all at the same time so there plenty of room for your family and friends! We're 2.5 miles from the Cherokee Casino and 3.5 miles from down town Cherokee If you're tired of crowded campgrounds then you'll love the privacy this campground offers. This is now a two site campground with each site being around 100' away from the other site with trees and vegetation growing in between, you more or less cant see on site from the other from May until November. There is a orange cone that marks the border of the two sites. One set of campers will not be allowed on the other campers campsite, if this happens you will be evicted with no refund. Check in is at 2pm and check out is at 12pm. No shooting firearms, (although you may hear people shooting firearms because you will be camping in the mountains) but your more than welcome to bring your firearms. Its better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.   No fireworks. No making trails or collecting firewood (This is not because I want to sell you firewood, its because I want to have the property remain as pristine as possible) Do not cut down trees alive or dead  If you move picnic tables please move them back Dogs are permitted but message me first to see if your do will be a good fit. There is a small Church around 200 yards from the campground. They hold services every Wednesday and Sunday. They generally start around 5pm and it lasts around a hour. If your into that they would love to have you come down. The EBCI opened a dispensary around 3 miles from the campground. It will open to all adults over 21 starting September 7th 2024. 10/9/2024 NOTICE: We had some damage to our road due to Hurricane Helene that made it impassable. It has since been repaired and is opened to traffic. There are still some remaining rough areas, but the road is easily passable by passenger vehicles and RV's up to 28ft. Our site was once part of a much larger farm growing tobacco and raising cattle and other farm animals. The existing tobacco barn was built in the early 1960's. The concrete pad used for RV camping was used to store silage for the cows. The non-potable water source is a mountain spring that has been used on the farm since the 1930's. While many tobacco barns in the area have been torn down for their rusted tin roofing and rustic siding, we have worked to restore the barn and preserve its history.

Hi there. Here is a little rundown of everything we do at the mill…. So, as far as camping, there are two main options on either side of the river; the mill yard or primitive camping across the river. In the mill yard, we do festival style camping, meaning that there are no individual campsites per se, but rather a large grassy lawn near the mill and bathhouse with shared fire pits, picnic tables, charcoal grill, and sinks for water/dishes. We also have two platforms up in the woods that are good for a little more privacy and are completely shaded, but do require a small climb up the hill. The bathhouse has three restrooms and hot showers in each. Across the river, there are several more primitive sites that are generally very private and offer great sounds coming from the river and waterfall, but no facilities. Most sites are car accessible, and a 5 minute walk back over to the mill (or a 1 minute drive). Lastly, our newest camping spot on the primitive side is a river front beach right by the dam with space for a several medium sized tents and a private fire pit. The beach is hike-in only (2-3 minutes along a mostly flat trail). Our normal rate is $10 per person per night. Firewood is available for $10 per wheelbarrow load. We accept cash, credit card, Venmo, Paypal, and crypto. We are also fairly flexible on check in/check out times, but just let us know if you’ll be arriving at odd hours. Dogs are generally welcome as long as they are kept on leash. Here is a little rundown of tubing at the mill (May-October, weather permitting). We have two tubing options available. We have a short Fun Run that takes roughly 45 minutes, and cost $10 per person for as many rides as you’d like. The river bends sharply like a horseshoe in this section, so it makes everything accessible by foot traffic. It’s a 3 minute walk up the trail to the dam, put in and float 30-45 minutes (depending on water level), then a 5-10 minute walk back to the mill carrying your tube. There is also the longer Forks Run, which last 3-4 hours (~2.5 river miles), and costs $15. For this, we shuttle you up the river in a vehicle, and you float back to the top of the dam, then 3 minutes walking back to the mill. Most weekends, tubing starts at 11 am and the last Forks Shuttle is around 3 pm, with the Fun Run staying open till around 5. Also, with enough heads up, we can sometimes arrange for trips during the week. Our tubes are required for each person floating for insurance and liability reasons, but you are welcome to bring your own cooler tubes to carry drinks and snacks. Technically, alcohol is not permitted on the river, but what is in your cooler is your business. Either way, please bring ALL trash out with you! Water shoes are recommended, and we have life jackets on request. Most of our tubes come with bottoms and back rests, but a few are open to the water. Most weekends, reservations are not required, but it does help tremendously if we know when you want to come and how many in your group. Secluded campsite with 4 RV spots, 3 electric and water, 1 water only (quiet generator allowed here) and 1 tent only site. All spots are waterfront, located on Core Sound. There is a dock to tie up your kayaks and paddle boards. Boats are welcome to park in our overflow parking area and a public boat ramp is 0.25 miles away. Take the Davis ferry to the beautiful beaches of Cape Lookout just a few minutes away! 3 sites with 30-amp power (sites 1, 2 and 3) we welcome generators at the other sites, so long as they are quiet. All with water hookups except tent site 5. Enjoy swimming in the sound, fishing, wind surfing, paddle boarding, kayaks and your canoes!!!! Enjoy it all and only share the space with 4 other sites. No waste dump on site. Core Creek Campground will allow you to dump for $39. 20 minutes from shops and restaurants of Beaufort and Morehead city. Lake Linda is a private 6 acre lake that's located on our family's 40 acre property. We are just 5 minutes from Surf City, Topsail Island, and 20 minutes from both Wilmington and Jacksonville. You'll often see ducks and geese on the lake. Lake Linda is a peaceful place, but conveniently located within a few minutes of food, entertainment, and of course some beautiful beaches. On the back half of the property, we also have a small family farm. Pasture raised pigs, chickens, cows, sheep, goats and we even a have a couple of turkeys! We sell farm fresh eggs as well as poultry, beef, and pork, all raised right here on our farm. Our pork & beef is USDA inspected and processed! We try to help our farm animals have a great life while they’re with us. We have two sites available by the lake! One site is on the corner of the lake by the dock. This lakeside site has a 30 amp service. This site does not have water or sewer, however we have 2 full bathrooms in our bathhouse, one even has a pet wash station! The bathhouse is only about 1000 feet away, and you’re welcome to walk or drive down to it! We can also help you fill your water tank and you’re welcome to dump in the full hook up site as long as there isn’t someone camping there. The second lake site has a beautiful view. This lake view site has 110 outlets as well as water. It does not have sewer hookup, but we have 2 full bathrooms in our bathhouse, one even has a pet wash station! The bathhouse is only about 1000 feet away, and you’re welcome to walk or drive down to it! You’re also welcome to dump in the full hook up site as long as there isn’t someone camping there. We also have 2 camper sites available on the farm, as well as a few tent sites. The farm is just a short walk from the lake, so no matter which you choose, you can enjoy the best of both! This is a working farm, we have cows, pigs, goats, sheep, chickens, & turkeys! You’re welcome to meet & enjoy them! We even have a calf that was born here, and we have baby pigs regularly as well! We’ve also recently added a bath house, with two bathrooms. Both have stand up showers, and one even has a pet wash station! We have 2 gas grills on the property for your use as well! One is by the lake, the other is on the farm. We also place picnic tables at all sites before check in! During the holiday season, Lake Linda becomes a winter wonderland for all to enjoy! Lake Linda's Christmas Lights is a light display surrounding the Lake and synchronized to music. Made a last minute decision to go camping the upcoming weekend when we found Lil Snowbird. Wanted to take our 2 Schnauzers for some fun in the creek so we booked Site 3. Ordered a bundle of firewood and they seemed dry but had issues getting them lit. It didn't bother us since we brought our Blackstone and didn't require a campfire for meals. The host must've had a similar issue reported bc next thing we knew, he was bringing by more wood without being asked. He was very attentive and we appreciated his hospitality. Only issue we had were the idiots at Campsite 4. They were using a stump as a backstop for pellet gun target practice but our campsite was directly downrange behind said stump. I deliberately glared at them hoping they picked up what I was putting down before I confronted them. Granted it was a pellet gun but anyone with any range experience or common sense knows you NEVER point a weapon in anyones direction no matter the caliber. FYI, for planning purposes, our picnic table and fire ring were in fixed positions. Can't vouch for other sites but the tent area was about 5 yds from the picnic table and the fire ring was another 10 yds from the picnic table and the portable changing room that housed the sites RV toilet was another 5 yds from the fire ring. This means you have a 20 yd walk from your tent to relieve yourself. I noticed a little solar lamp at the potty tent but we didn't use it, as we brought our own. Already planning our next camping trip back!

Booked site one for nine days. Watched the leaves green out on the trees and had a lovely view of the field and trees. Enjoyed hearing the roosters in the area sounding off over the course of the morning and the chorus a birds waking us up and serenading us to sleep at night. Electric hook up was easy and site was spacious. Creek was pleasant addition behind our set up. The water hauling was a unique experience next time I will bring a small hand cart. Looking forward to for our next stay.

This was my favorite campsite of all time. It was beautiful, quiet, and serene. There are many thoughtful details. The bathroom was very clean, convenient, and cute. There's a whole dishwashing station just outside the washroom area, very nice touch. The outdoor shower is beautiful, clean, and lovely with great pressure and hot water. The moss trails, flowers throughout, ponds, and forest are so lovely. The trash area is in a good spot and they have recycling as well. Mike and Scott are excellent hosts, very attentive to needs, excellent service, so kind, and just great human beings. Being a lesbian who camps alone in a tent, I felt very comfortable and safe, which is extremely important to me and sometimes hard to find. The hosts also brought us campers fresh eggs in the morning from their chickens! 10 out of 10 highly recommend spending time here. I will be telling everyone I know about this campground.

We loved the camp site. The location is amazing, and being right on the water meant it was super easy to fish and the kids were able to get in and out of the water whenever they felt like it. Andrew the host was awesome. We ordered some firewood, and it was there when we arrived and ready to go. Andrew stopped by the second day to drop off some more firewood, and we spend some time chatting and learning more about his property. It’s truly a great place to camp. It is close to town if you forget anything, or want to go and checkout surrounding areas, but feels like you are tucked well away. There were other campers at the property, but at no point did you feel like you were on top of each other. We will be back!

12 nights at At the Ridge Camp-Riverside Escapes

We were marked for site #6 but Tom,Carrie's husband, gave us the option of moving from site 6 across to a spot all to ourselves. It was right on the river like 6. We had a rock fire bowl and direct access to the creek for fishing. We stayed for 2 weeks. The campground was hit by 2 hurricanes, Fred and Helene in back to back years. With such a large property coming back fully will take time. Tom and his wife are more than gracious host and checked on us and offered any assistance we may need. The river/creek is beautiful and makes wonderful noise at night. (Drowns out the few vehicles that drive by, not many while we were there) There are 2 bath houses on each side of the river. They even have a laundry room with 2 washers. The 3 of the 4 dryers were having technical issues and it was being addressed the one did a great job, no damp clothes. Lots of waterfalls and beautiful drives, great fishing in the wild trout waters that surrounds the campground.
