Weekend Trip to Ancient Spring Farm

This was my second time coming to this wonderful spot. Rebecca does everything right. Last time I came solo and this time I came with my partner and his very anxious little dog. It was the dogs first time camping and they did great. They both loved it as much as I do. Can't wait to come back again.

Beautiful site with everything you could need! This was our first glamping experience and it definitely will not be our last. My husband and I were Clover I and our two kids were in Clover II. The private bathroom with mini fridge and coffee maker made cleanup and meal prep so easy. The site was so quiet and peaceful!

We absolutely loved staying on Alicia’s property. The area was so peaceful and beautiful…it was just the break that we needed. The tent itself was adorable, and had all the creature comforts. Even our (well traveled) kids said this was much better than a hotel room. :) The bathroom was incredible, with a shower I wish I had at home! Highly recommend. 👍🏼

From the moment we got there, till the time we left was absolutely wonderful!!! The tent was better the photos, exceptionally clean, incredibly comfortable and more than I expected. The bathroom facility was as well fantastic! The kids loved it, our dog had the best time and with the exception of being covered in tree pollen for 3 days, we all had an amazing weekend. Alicia was an awesome host!!!!

Enjoyed a wonderful springtime glamping getaway at Sugarneck! The Clover cabins and bathhouse were clean, cozy, well equipped, and private. Favorite amenities included the mini fridge, Solo Stove fire pit and firewood, strong wifi, towels and toiletries, and coffee machine. My dog and I loved exploring the beautiful property and venturing out to hike at nearby San-Lee Nature Park, Raven Rock State Park, and Harris Lake Park during the day before relaxing around the campfire each evening! A tired dog is a happy dog. :) Looking forward to a return trip!

Beautiful last minute find! So glad we had the chance to stay at Saxapahaw Country Club—it’s a little hidden gem in a really cool part of central NC. The site was easy to find for setup. The space was very open and had beautiful sunrise and sunset views. The property is very well set up and maintained. The hammocks hanging between the pines overlooking the pond and the lambs/donkey was my favorite. Their pork is DELICIOUS. We met the owners and they are so sweet, and also very helpful/quick to respond to questions. We will definitely be back!

My friend and I found this spot to “meet in the middle” for one night with our dogs (she’s in Durham and I’m in Greensboro). We had a great evening. Super convenient. Would definitely return. Easy directions to the campsite. Felt very private while we were hanging out at campsite. Yet still close to town/conveniences if needed. We made a quick trip to the brewery down the street and it was great. Didn’t interact with the host at all bc there was no need. His Instructions were clear and accurate. Everything mentioned in the post was available and easy to find - including fire wood, which was greatly appreciated!

What a delightful place! Very quiet and peaceful. Beautiful grounds with local wildlife making appearances. The kids loved the gaming room and supplies. The tents and bathrooms were clean with air and heat. Just a couple of miles from shopping if you need supplies. Only 25 minutes from Raleigh. We had a blast and are looking forward to staying here again. Alicia was wonderful, very responsive to messages. They made sure we had everything we needed to have the best stay possible.

Direction to camp were clear, all the photos gave an accurate image of what we pulled into. The ground was level and easy to park for the High meadow spot where we stayed-easy to pull through. It was nice to have their lights, and also nice that they automatically went off after a certain time as to not keep us up. Loved the handcrafted steel fire pits and wooden chairs-perfect for relaxing without needing to pull out our chairs. Although we didn’t need it, they pointed out where the electric hookup was, and it was nice to have access to water, food prep table, trash cans, and the compostable toilet (simple with no notable smell at all with toilet paper-as well as feminine products as a nice gesture-and easier than having to use our own toilet/pack it in/pack it out). Cool to see them out doing their farm duties…letting us have our privacy while being available to us. They also were so friendly and sweet with our kids-even came over and offered for our children a once in a lifetime chance to bottle feed one of their sweet lambs!!! Farm cats came to visit frequently, which we didn’t mind a bit but just something to be aware of in case you aren’t a fan of cats. Great property to roam, fun tree swing that the kids loved, and amazing to get out and enjoy the sounds of nature and be so accessible to town.

Weekend Trip to Private meadow and pond

My son and I took a weekend to camp, and Phillip's place was a perfect camp site for us. We tucked our tent in between the firepit and the woodline, giving us a great view of the pond first thing in the morning w/ the beautiful blueberry farm on the other side. The grounds are big enough to be spacious but not so large as to be overwhelming. There is enough space between the camp site and the house to feel like we were on our own little slice of land with our own space. The indoor bathroom and dishwashing space, while not a necessity for good camping, certainly made things more comfortable. The space was beautiful and quiet and even came with some visits from Luna, their beautiful, sweet, and gentle dog! It's close drive to a variety of state parks and hiking trails as well as the lake and trails at Lake Michael there in Mebane. It's hard to beat "feels remote but close to a lot"! As a host, Phillip could not have been more gracious and accomodating and kind. Again: the perfect mix of there for support while also giving lots of space. Thanks so much Phillip (and family) for creating such a lovely space and I can't wait to go back!

Phillip’s land is gorgeous and was the perfect backdrop for our friends’ first camping experience. The property was well maintained, clean, and easy to find. I also appreciated that there were no other houses or structures within sight or earshot, so it was a very serene location. Exactly what I hope for when I book a Hipcamp. Thank you, Phillip!

Very quiet and beautiful! We enjoyed the campfire all weekend, our sleeping quarters were warm and comfy! The game room was awesome. My kids are already asking to come back since dad got sick at last minute and couldn’t accompany us.

While we are happy to be a late-night crash spot for after shows, we hope you stay a minute to walk the fields, hang in the hammocks, sit by the pond, or take a swing from the branches of our 200 year old White Oak tree. You'll come down our curvy driveway through the trees, and see our event barn on the left. In front of the barn is a communal space for campers to enjoy with a great view. This area has a fire pit, chairs, wood-fired grill, handwashing station, and farm table. Please note, this farm stay is an agritourism activity subject to the limit of liabilities as described in N.C.G.S § 99E‑32(b). We have sheep and pigs and a donkey rotating through pastures behind electric fencing. You are welcome to look but don't touch the fence! We also have 3 very friendly farm cats. Our farm is a beautiful, private 25 acres with an 1830s house, outbuildings, animals, orchards, gardens, pastures, old trees, wildlife habitat, a spring, and woods. Here you can relax; watch nature; meet our chickens, goats, horse, cats, and dog; learn about archaeology, history, plants, and mead making; and get eggs and homegrown seasonal food. Listen to birdsong and watch clouds during the day, wander a path through our ca. 5 acres of woods, see fireflies in the evening, and star watch at night. Nearby are hiking, horseback riding, historical sites, fishing, antiques, wineries, shooting, and more. We are located in a rural area and have many different domesticated and wild animals so you may hear diverse animal noises and see or smell animal poop, although we try to keep things clean and tidy. Our neighbors have dogs, cattle, and chickens/roosters and occasionally shoot guns during daylight hours (one neighbor is a sporting club with skeet shooting and hunting dogs) but typically our farm is a quiet and peaceful place. We mow regularly and our rooster and chicken ladies wander far and wide eating bugs but, in the summer, they can't get every mosquito and tick so please plan accordingly for your own comfort.

In addition, there are 2 dog parks (one for small dogs and one for larger dogs). All the buildings at the moment including the Guard Tower are only available to enter with a private tour. Spot (#3) includes probably America's smallest Tiny Home. It only fits a provided twin air mattress. If 2 guests would like to share the tiny home, we highly recommend that they like each other. There is air conditioning, lights, and a power outlet. Spot (#4) includes a RV with air conditioning and can accommodate up to 10 people.
