Please note that when temperatures dip into the teens and the single digits make sure to bring warm clothing as dome can still get a bit chilly on those nights. Also note that there is a hand washing station outside of the dome next to the port a potty however when temperatures dip into the teens and single digits the water can freeze up in the hand washing station. We do also provide hand sanitizer as a back up. The outdoor shower is only open typically from April through October. In addition, the only form of heat is a wood burning stove with starters and wood provided, so it will be your responsibility to make sure that the stove keeps burning with wood as to keep the dome warm. This most likely will entail getting up at least once a night to stoke/put wood on the fire. On very hot summer days the dome can get very warm inside. We have a high powered fan and black out curtains to help but it still can get very warm. Best to utilize the outdoor space in the late morning/early afternoon hours or use this time to explore the area. THERE IS NO AIR CONDITIONING! Also, there may be some bugs that you see. Especially stink bugs in September and October. We do our best to keep bugs out, yet this is a Glamping experience which is between camping and a typical Airbnb experience so please plan/pack/expect accordingly. Thanks!

This is a really amazing spot. Everything was perfect, and the location is very private; there is no one else anywhere close to the dome, but it is still only a short drive into town. Jeremy was super communicative and I would definitely stay here again.

What an awesome setup! The views of sunrise and sunset are magical. The spot had all the things you could need within reason while considering that you are still off the grid. The owners gave great advice for local hikes. We would absolutely come back.

We spent Halloween weekend at Jeremy and Terra's mountaintop glamper and it was incredible! The mountain views were stunning everyday, even with the rain our first day and the privacy was outstanding! Close enough to town if you need anything and far enough away to be and feel secluded. The glamper was perfect and cozy and I loved sitting in bed and enjoying what I called "nature's TV" out the front of the glamper. We could not have had or asked for a better experience in what was our first vacation in 2 years. Even our German Shepherd had a wonderful time. Jeremy and Terra are outstanding hosts, made us feel at home, and checked in with us in the morning to make sure we had everything we needed! They made sure the glamper was stocked and clean! We highly recommend staying with them and we will most definitely be going back! One caution, if going while raining or during the winter months, you definitely want a 4WD or AWD as the gravel up to the mountain is a little steep and can be a little difficult with any kind of precipitation. Our little Nissan Versa stick-shift wasn't happy about the climb lol.

This place is absolutely beautiful. Waking up to a sunrise over Appalachia is worth it on its own. The dome is well maintained, clean, and the area is super quiet and safe. It's an amazing place to relax in the hot tub and stargaze, play some games at the outdoor table, or just sit by the fire pit to talk and enjoy the scenery. There are two fire pits - a private metal one on the deck and a large communal area between the domes. There's also hiking and walking trails a short drive away in the Smokies (like Mouse Creek Falls). Ravi is super friendly and responsive to messages. We met him on our way out when he came up to do maintenance. He takes good care of this place. There are a few turns that are hard to see, so definitely arrive when it's daylight. If you use Waze, keep going up and around after it thinks you've "arrived".

i absolutely loved staying here! the bed was so comfy, the towels were lovely, the coffee was amazing, the yurt was spacious & the heater was very nice. i loved all the personal touches like the gratitude journal & the games and activities for guests to do- i wish i had more time here! my only complaint would be that the outdoor shower water was FREEZING- would love to have a warm shower. might be OK / better in the warmer months

They really thought about all of the small detail details (fresh flowers, umbrella, extra sleeping bags, cookware, spices, coals and lighter fluid for grill, shampoo and conditioner in the amazing outdoor shower…) and made this experience great. The view is unparalleled. Phenomenal stargazing. The inside is so cute and the wood-burning stove was great to have on the chilly night. Would have loved to spent more time there.

Literally the most earth-friendly place I’ve ever stayed! I’m an experienced camper and boondocker who has owned multiple RVs, so I know my nature vibes—and this spot truly blew me away. It offered the perfect balance of comfort and connection to the outdoors. The dome felt like a romantic getaway surrounded by nature, yet had all the amenities you could ask for: a private shower, a grill with a burner, pots and pans, electricity, and even great cell reception. It was peaceful, rejuvenating, and thoughtfully designed with sustainability in mind. I’ll definitely be coming back—and honestly, I could see myself staying here for an entire month if possible.

We stayed at Starlighthill Campground in the Lunaview Dome to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and it was absolutely perfect! Everything about our stay exceeded our expectations. The dome was cozy and comfortable, and we especially loved the 1-hour spa session—it was so relaxing and a wonderful treat. At night, the star views were simply incredible, a truly unforgettable experience. The entire property is very well maintained—the dome, the grounds, with clean restrooms. The staff response fast to your messages/ needs.The attention to detail really shows. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful and unique getaway. We are already planning to come back!
