My property consists of a ridge running east to west with the access road running along the south border.  the land slopes up to the ridge for about 300 feet, and then down to the river for about 800 feet.  The south side of the ridge has a small pond close to the road.  The rest is pasture, and an orchard and small vineyard.  The north side of the ridge is old growth timber, and shady and cool.  The two cabins are along the river.  One is perched on a ridge over looking the river and the other is right on the river.  The swimming hole is 30 feet from the lower cabin.  There is room for a couple campsites along the river also.  The south side of the ridge was a cotton farm decades ago, but was covered in timber when I bought it 12 years ago.  The north side has been in timber for the known history of the property.

RockTree Homestead is currently under construction but our Roadside Retreat Travel Trailer is open for use 7 days a week. Camper and parking is up at the road so access is easy and private. Camper includes a queen size bed, 2 twin bunk beds, and a booth style kitchen table that converts into a double bed as well. It is fully stocked with linens, dishes, cookware and a ton other essential supplies, equipment and entertainment items. Fully equipped with running water, electricity and propane for heat and cooking. At the campsite there is a firepit set up., as well as 2 fold up chairs and a table. A small propane grill and trash can are available for use as well. Host lives on the property down the hill if anything is needed. There is a nice walking/biking/ATV trail that wraps around the 6.5 acre property that takes you down by the creek and around the ponds. There is also a camping area at the bottom of the property by the creek. It's a walk in only.

The cabin is located at the end of a private gravel road with a fish pond and thousands of acres of peaceful wooded mountains at it's doorstep! And yes, there are hiking trails! We built this cabin with you in mind. Everything was custom made by us; from the woodstove rock wall, to the cabinets and outdoor picnic table. You will instantly relax when you walk into this very special place. You will never want to leave! The cabin includes a large front porch with rocking chairs where you will enjoy your warm tea or coffee each morning and evening while overlooking the peaceful pond and woods. There is an outdoor fire ring and picnic table where you can enjoy a campfire, cook on the open flame, and have smore's in the evening. Inside the cabin you will find everything to be incredibly beautiful and spaced to create the coziest atmosphere you've ever enjoyed. There is a wood burning stove indoors that when lit, takes the whole experience to the next level! But you don't have to rely on the woodstove for heat, we've installed a brand new wall unit for heat and air! You also have a DVD player and a television with an assortment of DVDs to choose from. The cabin sleeps 4-5 people comfortably. There is a full size bed that sleeps 2 in the main room of the cabin. There is a loft above that sleeps 2-3 more. A rolling library ladder is how the kids will access the loft area! So fun! The kitchen is complete with a refrigerator, electric stove, oven, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker. A peaceful mood is set by warm-toned sawmill lumber walls, recessed lighting in the ceiling, a kitchen window above the sink that overlooks the side yard campfire area and beautiful woods surrounding the cozy cabin. The bathroom is so nice with a stand-up shower, hand-made oak vanity, and a door to the "star-gazing" porch. Flood lighting lights up the area around the cabin at night so you might spot a deer, fox, or even a bear traveling through or getting a drink of water from the pond. You will instantly relax at the coziest cabin on earth. You deserve a get-away that actually recharges you! This cabin is for the couple or family that just wants to take a much needed break from the real world. Nestled in the beautiful foothills of the blueridge mountains, this one of a kind getaway is perfect for couples, small families or individuals. You can have your morning coffee or stargaze at night from the rooftop deck, which boasts an amazing view of the South Mountains. We are conveniently located between Charlotte and Asheville and are within 30 minutes of Shelby, Hickory, Forest City, Morganton and Marion. Just a short drive is the beautiful South Mountains State Park, which is the perfect place for hiking or a picnic. Also within a short distance is Yogi Bear Campground with Blue Ridge Mountain Coaster and the new Cherry Bounce Adventure Park. We also partner with local wedding venues that are also very convenient to our location. Some of these include Zimmerwald Estate, Farm Haven, The Venue at Don's Pond, Mountain View Barn and Venue, Creekside Farm Venue and The Farm at Belwood. Weekend Trip to The Perch Tiny Treehouse

We loved this sweet little treasure of a tree house. Had all kinds of plans upon arrival but never left not even for milk. The hot tub was spot on and the little welcoming gestures made it even better. Carie Ann takes wonderful care of this property. Would recommend to anyone who wants to just get away and relax.

Absolutely loved our stay at the Moonshine Dome! From the moment we arrived, everything felt magical. The dome itself is stunning—beautifully designed with a cozy yet luxurious interior that makes you feel both comfortable and special. Every detail has clearly been thought through, from the stylish décor to the warm, inviting atmosphere. The hot tub was a total highlight—perfect for relaxing under the sky and soaking in the peaceful surroundings. It truly elevated the whole glamping experience. Waking up in the dome was just as amazing, with gorgeous views and a calm, private setting that made it easy to fully unwind. This is glamping at its absolute best: unique, romantic, relaxing, and unforgettable. If you’re looking for a special getaway with comfort, beauty, and a touch of magic, the Moonshine Dome is a must-stay. We can’t wait to come back!

Weekend Trip to Adin`s river cabin

If you're looking for fancy, bells and whistles this isn't for you. If you're looking for privacy, peace and serenity in a rustic cabin then you found it. The cabin is small but cozy. The cabin does have hot water, but only for a couple minutes. It has a decent size sink in the kitchen. The bathroom is tiny and not for the costraphibic, but it's nice having something indoors. There also an outhouse. Adin offers heat for an extra fee if you ask. We didn't use it, it was chilly at night, but still warmer than tent camping. The rd to the cabin in narrow and a little steep, but we made it in and out with two wheel drive. The property terrain itself is pretty rugged and steep(sometimes slippery) with cliffs. I would say younger children need good supervision venturing if you bring them and it wouldn't be suitable for people with mobility issues. If you have children I would bring a baby gate for the upstairs loft, as it's an open entrance and exit at the ladder stairs, which are steep. Room for extra tents in site. There's tons of deck space here with three decks and amazing views from the top. The sounds of the rapids and the frogs are so serene. The river is beautiful and clear with plenty of room. There's also some trails on the property. Sadly you can see some of the damage caused by flooding from the hurricane. Our little family enjoyed our stay here. Adin and his wife were kind and helpful. What a blessing to own a beautiful piece of paradise. Thank you for sharing it.

Weekend Trip to Adin`s river cabin

My family & I loved Adin’s cabin. It was perfect for us to escape the fast city life for the weekend. We walked the creek bank, searched for worms, tried fishing.. but had no luck. Mr. Adin said Helene had taken most of the fish. The water was crystal clear, & the sound of the water moving had me mesmerized. The kids enjoyed watching movies upstairs in the loft, & they had plenty to keep them busy. We can’t wait to come back in the Summer. Thanks again Adin for having us! The Turner Family 🥰

If I could rate it higher I would, this was a great get away on a beautiful plot of land, the beds are comfortable and even with 8 people it didn’t feel cramped at all. They also had pickleball which was a lot of fun. 10/10

We spent the weekend in the bus and absolutely loved it! The kids loved the driver's seat and the sitting area upstairs. It was an awesome night escape with nothing but the stars above. They have thought of literally everything you need. The view and atmosphere were lovely! It's a nice place to forget the city life. We will definitely do it again. The host is very attentive and pleasant.
