Our stay at this mountain campsite was fantastic! The hosts were both exceptionally kind and attentive. Ken recommended a Newland tire business to work on our truck brakes and I'm not exaggerating when I say they might have saved our lives!
While the space was a smidge tight for our fifth wheel, it worked out fine. All the campsite hook-ups were pristine and easy-to-use.
The location was lovely - set in a charming country club neighborhood with welcoming neighbors who went out of their way to check on us. We love Newland and felt as though we were centrally located to the places we like to visit.
Thanks so much, Ken & Lyn! We will be returning, for sure!

A beautiful property to explore and very welcoming hosts. So close to Grayson Highlands. We enjoyed visiting with all the animals in between our hiking adventures. Would definitely stay there again and recommend to anyone.

Great site! The view is spectacular, especially watching the sun rise in the morning and the shadows crossing the valley in the evening. The weather was nice so we left the rain fly off our tent. It was so nice being able to see so many stars with no light pollution. I had also forgotten what silence sounded like...I haven't slept this good in a while! There is a huge fire pit and wood available close by for purchase on Venmo. We were originally planning on setting up camp and then driving to find a hiking spot but we just ended up hiking the property, then coming back to our chairs and that spectacular view! We are local and came in for a quick one night stay to test out some new boondocking equipment and to see if the site would be good for the trailer we are purchasing next year. After climbing the road, I now see why they limit trailers to 20 ft. While we won't be bringing our trailer up here, we'll definitely be back in the tent!

Such beautiful land, and sweet horses & farm animals that greeted us when we arrived. This space was perfect for us and our bus. So close to the state park and all the best hikes. I’d highly recommend Rugby’s land!

This was our second time staying on Rachel’s land, and it was just as amazing as the first. The views are absolutely unbeatable — waking up to the mountains wrapped in morning fog and ending the day by the campfire with a wide open sky is something special. The site is peaceful, private, and well cared for, making it easy to relax and enjoy nature. Rachel is a thoughtful host and makes the experience smooth from start to finish. Highly recommend for anyone looking to truly unwind and take in the beauty of the Blue Ridge.

1 night at The Human Spirit
What stands out is the view! The site was well maintained and secluded. On the drive to site on the dirt road, 4 large dogs followed us for a long stretch. They were not afraid to walk in front of our truck, while the others stayed close to the sides. I was concerned I would hit them. But it just added to the adventurous drive to the top. Also, make sure to push in the lock after you add the code. If you pull it, it will not open.

Absolutely private with a beautiful view, you definitely don’t have to worry about seeing other people or buildings or roads. If you want to get away for a weekend, it was beautiful. The drive up the mountain was a little more challenging than we were expecting. We have a F250 which generally would’ve had no problem, but because we had a camper on top, it was weighing it down a bit.

We loved tent camping on the platform here! My toddler had a blast climbing up and down the platform and walking around the loop. We all enjoyed the sunrise, sunset, and sky full of stars every night. We can’t wait to come back!

My boyfriend and I stayed at Corner Pine for a weekend in a camper van to do some leaf peeping and sight seeing around the Highlands. The site was perfect for our needs! We especially loved the deck to relax and enjoy the moon while playing guitar. It was peaceful and private. Having access to amenities was fantastic, and it was so thoughtful of our hosts to leave a welcome basket with instructions and helpful tips!

This was a perfect start to a North Carolina road trip, just me and my dog. Peaceful and remote with amazing views. Explored the trails, had a campfire, hung a hammock, and just enjoyed nature. We got up early and watch the sun rise over the mountains. It was perfect. The listing recommends a high clearance vehicle and I agree with that.

This stay was a first for us using this app and very pleasantly surprised and delighted with the spot with easy pull through and comfortable deck with fire pit. The variety of sweet, helpful and welcoming community members in the neighborhood was a plus. Reminds me of a great old campgrounds with lots of woods, shrubbery, unique vacation homes, camp sites or permanent little and large mountain homes. Walking around felt very safe and nice perks with the amenities.
