10/9/2024 NOTICE: We had some damage to our road due to Hurricane Helene that made it impassable. It has since been repaired and is opened to traffic. There are still some remaining rough areas, but the road is easily passable by passenger vehicles and RV's up to 28ft. Our site was once part of a much larger farm growing tobacco and raising cattle and other farm animals. The existing tobacco barn was built in the early 1960's. The concrete pad used for RV camping was used to store silage for the cows. The non-potable water source is a mountain spring that has been used on the farm since the 1930's. While many tobacco barns in the area have been torn down for their rusted tin roofing and rustic siding, we have worked to restore the barn and preserve its history.

After years of looking all over the mountains for a river property we could call our own, our favorite spot on the river came up for sale. It just so happened it was nearly halfway between where we both grew up. After many sleepless nights worrying if we could succeed or not (it was much larger than properties we had been looking for), we bought it! Our favorite spot on the river was virtually inaccessible by any way other than floating. But after hundreds of hours of hard work, we think we have developed a place where others too can enjoy the things we do about the property. We dream big and Tellurian remains a work in progress, but we feel we have created a place where folks can enjoy the peacefulness of nature, the river and incredible views. It is just 26 miles from the Bristol Raceway and the Bristol Caverns. It is just a 15 minute drive to Backbone rock and a short drive to the Appalachian Trail. The property was a Dairy Farm and went out of business in the late 90’s and since then there has been over 3,000 trees planted. Some of these trees include the rare Butternut and Hazelnut, but mostly White Pine, Walnut and Oaks. Within a short distance is the trail head to Shortoff mountain and Linville George with exceptional views and hiking. Boat landing is a close for those who want to recreate on the lake and kayak. Close by is the renowned Fonta Flora brewery and Mica Town Breweries located only a few miles away.This is a secluded space that is private and on the Linville River before it enters Lake James. Lake James State Park offers a full menu of activities. Along with boating, swimming and fishing in the beautiful, clear waters of the 6,812-acre lake, there are 25 miles of trails, 15 of which are open to mountain biking. Trails vary from the short, educational Holly Discovery Trail with child-friendly activities, to the more adventurous, historic section of the Overmountain Victory Trail. Welcome!

Had a great experience, not far away from West Jefferson or Gratsin Highlands State Park (Virginia). Host was personable and very accommodating. Would definitely recommend staying here. Also has a cabin coming soon on the same property as the camper site. The neighborhood cows were respectful of the morning and didn't start talking until they saw people.

Great spot easy to get to off the highway but quiet once you get there. Artsy outbuildings, goats, buffalo and peacocks on the property which was super cool. Beautiful views of the mountains and nice secluded spots to camp, flush toilets and running water just a little walk away. . A+, would visit again!!

My friends and I LOVED this camp site! The land was beautiful and we enjoyed waking up by the lovely creek. Dianne was incredibly helpful and nice. In short, we had a blast. It was so easy to get up and go see Boone, visit Blowing Rock, and find hikes along the blue ridge, etc. We will definitely be back in the summer time. Thank you, Garry & Dianne!!

William’s campground was so lovely. Plenty of room to spread out and explore. The stars, oh my gosh! We loved sitting at the shared lookout point at night and just staring up at the sky. Check out the spa add-on! The sauna was perfect on a chilly Fall day. Would love to come back in the warmer months.

We really enjoyed our time here. Host was friendly and can tell he takes pride it updating the campground. Overlook was awesome for sunrise and sunset viewing. Some neighbor campers got a little load at times but that has nothing to do with the host. Overall, 9/10 on my camping score card.

There was plenty of space to paek and sent up a tent, on a flat open area with privacy. I felt safe. It was close to cafes, restaurants and out door adventures. And I appreciated the picnic table and fire pit. The only draw back for me was the street light (pro-helped with lighting the drive way for better visibility to find it, con-bright light at night slightly impacted my sleep and ambiance at night). Ted was responsive and helpful to any questions I had throughout the arrival and weekend process. Overall, grateful for the experience.
