Really nice spot for solo campers and large groups alike. My dogs were very happy with the space to roam. Convenient location to historic Gold Hill and hiking at Uwharrie and the Eagle Point Nature Preserve.

Weekend Trip to Private meadow and pond

We had another great weekend at the meadow. The grandkids fished and play all day and enjoyed their s'mores at night around the campfire. The site includes the use of the campers cabin with a bathroom and sink along with the outdoor shower. Those extra comforts make it a special place to enjoy the camping experience.

Weekend Trip to Kohler Farms-A Shire Horse...

The shire horses and creek to play in were a treat for the kids. Our group enjoyed the location and plan to return, hopefully when the assortment of Hostas are blooming. The Hipcamp description was accurate. Although it is near the highway and hosts residence where you can hear a truck every once an a while, the site is quite secluded. Nice flat open mowed grassy field for camping.

Weekend Trip to Farm Stay at Saxapahaw Country Club

We rented 'The Whole Enchilada' for 7 families with kids ranging from 4 to 7 years of age. It was the perfect way to initiate them to tent camping and they all loved it. We can't wait to go back. Wes and Kaitlin are superb hosts, very responsive and accommodating.

3 nights at The Rocky Knoll

I want to start off by saying, we would stay here again and likely will. Being the only site made it very private. Yes you can hear noises like ATVs, donkeys, roosters, and people, but there isn’t a human in sight. That’s my goal for camping. If you want amenities, likely you would scroll right past this spot anyway. The rest of the review is just to give you a picture of the experience because that is typically what I am looking for in a review. So you start out by driving down a dirt road, to a dead end up on a little knoll. The view is serene. The site is on top of a bit of a hill, surrounded in woods, it’s nice and spacious, with plenty of land cleared. The fire-pit is built up nice and high, which is key since you get a great breeze up there. We didn’t deal with ANY mosquitos but it is late April and not at the heart of the season yet, so who knows. There are picnic tables, a couple benches, and a couple chairs, plenty of seating. The potty shed is nice for privacy and they made it super cute, but this involves digging catholes which lets be honest is not fun. But once again, expected if you pay attention to the listing description. The only downside I would say is that there aren’t any grassy areas. I’m a big fan of throwing down a camping blanket for seating but that wasn’t realistic here as it was all dirt and rocks. So it was a dirty camping experience. We will bring our camping shower next time to be able to rinse off. All in all, a beautiful and private spot

1 night at Private meadow and pond

Phillip's property was absolutely perfect! Great shade throughout the day, but plenty of sun around too for solar or warming up after a chilly night. The most private/peaceful hipcamp on my journey this spring. The outdoor shower was perfect with plenty of hot water. The small bathhouse was so nice, with fridge and freezer space if needed as well. (Every hipcamp should offer this to travelers!!) I slept soundly after watching fireflies dance around the pond and listening to the frog symphony. I absolutely hope to stay again sometime!!

1 night at Bear Creek Tee-Pee Retreat

amazing! so close to town yet very secluded. The space was well taken care of and the whole place takes on a whole new vibe at night❤️ I am a lighting installation artist and the lighting at night was 10/10. The host was so very accommodating and answered all my questions (which was a lot). I will definitely be coming back! This space is a true gem. Thank you to the hosts for such a fantastic space and hospitality!

Love this hidden spot! Only 1 site and secluded enough for the perfect family trip. Only gripe is with the surrounding land owners may have a farm of some sort which resulted in an obnoxious barking dog and loud music coming from the same direction, which is at no fault to the campsite owner. Other than that a shovel, lawn chairs, picinic tables, and poop shed was provided at the campsite with clear instructions on taking wood that they had there if needed.

This was an awesome little spot. Two tee pees in the fields and 3 camping spots in the woods. The communal fire pit and stage are awesome. Love the cool rainbow last lights in the stage. Also very pretty colored accent lights surrounding the field perimeter. Very cool. Will come again.

We took our 5 year old son here for his first camping trip and we had a great time! The hat field was a nice open area to have room for the tent and to run and play. He also loved feeding the animals and the exploring the woods/creek!

Our camping area is a large grassy field that will accommodate multiple tent campers, travel trailers, and RVs under 30' with room to turn around, stake your area, and not feel crowded. We have a 24x16 enclosed stage that can be used for bands, educational classes, karaoke, yoga... ect. There is also an outdoor movie theater that is available to rent for an evening. There are a few restaurants close by and we are only 6 miles from downtown Mocksville. There are a lot of wineries and breweries within a 30 min drive from our property. We are about 15 minutes from river access to the Yadkin river for anyone looking to Kayak. There are lots of local fishing holes and places to go horseback riding. We are about an hour drive to lots of different hiking trails from pilot mountain, and hanging rock to the blue ridge parkway. We have 2 dogs that live here and will greet you at the gate. A 3/4 mile hike to the Taylor Family graveyard is marked with ribbons to guide you to one of the of the many family graveyards. *** A new fun feature for kids is the introduction of our dear friend Debbie Beasley"s art to the trails here in the New Forest. Scattered along the many trails are rocks painted by the one and only Debbie Beasley with cute fluorescent/3-D scenes of nature. Children can keep them as souvenirs from their New Forest camping adventure, or enjoy them while here then re-hide them for other children to find. ❤️ Come see for yourself. If you are looking for a modern, crowded campground this isn't it. The Old House

It it property that was once inhabited by our Native American Indian as many Indian Points have been pulled from the fields on the property. In its last days as a working farm it was a tobacco farm. There are remnants of the past life scattered around. Including The Green Barn; a 2 story tobacco barn where the tobacco was strung on tobacco sticks, hung on rafters to be cured and taken to market. Memories of times past linger all around, after 200 years it is still standing and ready for many more memories to carry on for generations to come....I am only its keeper for now, until I pass and it is then up to the future McKenzie generations to keep the light burning....
