We have three camp sites on a 200-acre parcel of secluded, rural farm land. We are a working pasture based farm where you can see how grass fed beef, pork, chicken, and eggs are produced. There's nothing quite like fresh eggs and bacon after waking up to the sunrise over a fog-filled valley!
When you arrive we will provide a complimentary carton of pastured raised eggs and you are welcome to visit our web site (redhouseranch . net) or store to order meats for your stay and/or to take with you upon your departure. We have a wide variety of grass fed beef, pasture raised pork, snack sticks for long hikes, and dog bones and smoked treats for your furry friends. Many of our items are well suited for campfire cooking. Keep in mind that all our products are frozen so be sure to plan for time to thaw. If you're not sure what that involves - we're here to help.
We are a working farm but, much of our property is not grazed or farmed. You are welcome to explore the entire area while also getting a glimpse of sustainable, pasture-based, farming methods. Learn more about us and the history of the farm at our website.
As you roam the hills and forests you'll eventually bump into some of our animals. Please do not enter the animal enclosures or touch any of the electrified fence lines. If you really want to pet a piggie or hold a chicken - just reach out to Ike or Dave and we will gladly arrange this for you.
Red House Ranch is also the perfect spot for wildlife enthusiasts and bird watchers. During your stay you may encounter eagles, blue herons, coyotes, turtles, wild turkeys, foxes, the endangered bobolink bird (its unique call sounds a bit like R2D2), deer, great horned owls, and many unique plants. It's not uncommon to hear the coyotes howling at night.
In addition to hiking trails with incredible views, there are four ponds on the property easily accessible with mown paths. One is very large with a dock and suitable for swimming, paddling, fishing, or just relaxing but the water. The other three are smaller and are now primarily wildlife habitat. easily accessible with mown paths
If you're feeling adventurous, there is a more strenuous hike down into the creek bed where you can find miniature versions of the gorges and waterfalls that our region is known for. We are happy to provide maps and guidance or leave you to your own devices.
When skies are clear our area has very little light pollution and excellent star visibility. It's a great place to view the night sky during a meteor shower.

We have 10 forested hilly acres 12 miles from Ithaca. We’ve built a camp with a yurt with a foam floor that sleeps a family of 4. Bring sleeping bags and pads or you have an air mattress you can blow up inside the yurt that is fun. in the will also see a dry lean-to with a double bed platform inside to put your sleeping bags or air mattress or to put supplies off the ground to keep dry. Also lots of room for tents. The campfire has a grill to cook over a wood fire, 2 benches & Adirondack chairs, a hammock and a picnic table. There’s also a fun homemade swing & seesaw. There are many marked walking trails around our land to enjoy. There is access to well water. Dry cut Firewood is available for $7 a bundle at the property or you can add extras with booking for $7.70 per bundle. Portable toilet outside & outdoor hot water shower.
It is very quiet here. We are close to Treman, Buttermilk And Taughannock State Parks which all have swimming. Watkins Glen State Park and racetrack is half an hour away. 150 breathtakingly magnificent waterfalls in this area. Great hiking. We are 14 miles from Cornell University and 10 miles from Ithaca College. We are between two finger lakes, Cayuga and Seneca, there are 60 wineries and breweries around the lakes. Woman’s Rights National Museum in Seneca Falls, Corning Museum of Glass is fabulous. Ithaca has theatres, many museums & lots for kids to do. This is a beautiful piece of property located in the heart of the Finger Lakes and Wine Country of NY. It features a stunning spring fed waterfall and nice forest land. Very close to town but also very secluded and private. Great place to unwind and relax from our everyday lives. It is situated however in a gully next to a creek and waterfall so it is susceptible to heavy rains. It is recommended to at least have an AWD vehicle if rainy. I can usually help campers with getting to the site in my side X side if you need to park up at the pasture. Please order enough wood initially as I have found I spend a lot of time delivering extra wood to campers. It seems as if you will typically go through 2 bundles per night on average. Also I supply a contractor size garbage bag to you if you choose garbage removal. It is also a good idea to text me when you have a solid ETA so I can be here to take you to the site. I want to mention that the two sites closest to the waterfall are a slight hike in and can only accommodate up to 4 person tents so if a bigger group or vehicle camping you will be placed at another site. I stayed with my pup and had a good night's sleep. Great location for visiting Ithica. Just needed a place to park my camper van for the night. The site is easy to find and access. Thought it is relatively close to the road and in front of the house, off the driveway, it didn't feel like it. Road was quiet after 10 and had no issue with reference to the house location. Got to meet Z and he was very welcoming. It was nice to have the electric access and despite the rainy cold weather we had, it was a nice stay. Would definitely stay again.

I loved the quiet serenity of this campsite. You can tell a lot of care went into it. There were lots of thoughtful touches like a broom to sweep out the lean-to, a first aid kit in the lean-to and in the privy (which is immaculately clean), hooks to hang stuff up, and clearly marked paths from the lean-to to the parking pad and privy.
I only stayed one night and it was raining, so I didn't make a fire, but it looked like a good set up with log seats and wood available for burning.
I had a chance to meet David, Roxanne and their sweet dog. Good vibes all around.

This was a wonderful RV campsite. We had it to ourselves. It was easy to find. We were greeted upon arrival but left alone to enjoy the quiet and solitude. Staying in April, we saw geese on and around the pond, but no goose mess around the campsite. You sit up the hill a little from the actual pond. We also saw deer in the evening and heard red winged blackbirds and so many song birds all day. It was so wonderful to just be away. We were provided firewood and a trash can and a nice picnic table. The site we stayed at was level and so very clean. Green everywhere we looked. The Endless Mountains are beautiful. Troy was nearby with necessities and restaurant options if you need it. Towanda was a little farther, but lovely. We stopped at Mountain View Winery and enjoyed our time there as well. But the best day was when we never left – enjoyed our hammock and the chance for our rescue dog to chill and curl up in the grass on a leash next to us. The only time he got excited was when the geese got mouthy 😊 He just wanted them all to get along. We would definitely enjoy coming here again for time away from the hustle and bustle of suburban life. Thank you so much for hosting us!!

This is a wonderful campsite! I’d highly recommend anyone who has the chance to an enjoy a night on David’s land. The shelter is beautifully built and fit our tent perfectly, which saved us from some late night showers. There was a good amount of firewood and tinder supplied by the hosts. The highlight was definitely hearing the icon call of the Barred Owl before bed!

It was so gorgeous, a perfect combo of remote but still a reasonable distance from town if you need cell service or supplies. The creek next to the cabin was so beautiful and fun to romp around, and there's even a small waterfall in the back, so cool!! It's right on the border of one of the state parks for easy access if you're a hiker, but it's also perfect if you prefer to linger in a nice spot and take it in.
Amenities were great for what we wanted, it didnt feel like "glamping" (we didn't want to glamp) but it still had everything we needed to be comfortable. It rained and the temp fluxed on and off during the trip so the heater and stove were lifesavers.
The outhouse might have been the cleanest I've ever used, which is strange to say but important -- the wood looked fresh, it had a toilet seat and I wasn't afraid of animals/bugs hanging out in the corners or in the toilet! 😂
There's a generator for electricity if needed but we didn't really bother with it (personal choice). He provides a solid amount cleaning and drinking water which we were pleasantly surprised by (still be responsible and bring some of your own).
It was so nice that we decided to stay an extra day! I needed to go to town to message him on the app to get it set up since there's no cell service at the site and thankfully he responded almost immediately so I didn't have to wait around town. He gave great recommendations and seems genuinely happy when people respect appreciate the area. Will reccomend

Valley View is a convenient spot that's close to much of what the finger lakes has to offer. Chris was a responsive and friendly communicator. As stated in the description, it is rolling pasture, so finding a level spot with our 24' RV was tricky, but possible. Our friends in their vintage Westfalia van had a little trouble getting up the first hill. It was dark and a little frozen, but they DID get up. Get there before dark if you've never been. The interior roads are windy and very rolling. The spots give some privacy with the distance, but you can still see each other. If in a tent, you can pitch in a more secluded spot. V-View is perfect for those who want the feel of camping out with a big sky, yet close enough to civilization. Viewing the valley town and spotting the Montour Falls off in the distance is a treat. Bring your binoculars! We didn't get the best sunsets during our stay, but I imagine they can be spectacular from these sites. It's very rustic as described. We saw deer and there is proof of them all around the property, so don't be surprised. ;) Since our trip was in November, we were disappointed that the Gorge trail was closed, but we did the Rim Trail and it was still beautiful. Visiting and exploring the local towns was easy with lots of art and craft galleries, brew pubs and college town vibes. All in all, a good stay at a great price. Thanks, Chris!
