Get away from it all on 60 acres of quiet space! You have two options--bring your own tent and camping gear and rough it, or stay in our hand-built cabin with all you need for a couple of nights of pure R&R! Experience zero light pollution at this off the grid cabin or in one of our camping spots.

We encourage you to walk and experience a true "backwoods" experience, but we will drive you down in our Utility Vehicle if needed.
A ping pong table is available in the barn/workshop if people would like to play. We also have pollinator and vegetable gardens and chickens, and we produce maple syrup in the spring. If guests are interested in workshops on carpentry, food preservation, foraging, gardening, bread baking, and kombucha-brewing, they should let us know a WEEK in ADVANCE. We also offer spiritual direction and Enneagram exploration/typing conversations. This experience can be as solitary as a guest would like, or guests can also experience the gift of connecting with others in community.

I was a little nervous because this was my first time “camping” on my own, but this was by far my best “camping” experience. Allison and Randy were amazing host and answered every question I had! I also loved riding around the farm with Allison and meeting all the cutie little farm animals! I even got lucky and mama cow had her baby while I was camping!! We loved our time at the cabin! The directions were easy to follow and the location was perfect for day outings to Ithaca or the myriad state parks/trails nearby. The spot felt super remote despite being maybe a mile from the road? The water was not potable (as described), but it sure was nice being able to take hot showers from the solar powered water heater. We really unwound and the spot was exactly as described. You will need to bring your own wood in if you are going during the colder weather days. Additionally, though there are 2 lights in the cabin, I would suggest bringing some book lights that you can clip to the underside of the upper bunks so you can have some light if you wanted to read on the lower bunk. Also, multiple power banks if you are wanting to keep anything charged as there are no outlets. Mama Said is maybe a 10 minute drive and perfect for treating yourself to some breakfast, coffee, and a charge up if needed. And if they are open, you HAVE to go to Here for breakfast. It was not only incredibly delicious, but the people working there were the kindest. 🫶 Honesty though, waking up every morning, making our coffee at the cabin, and sipping it on the porch while the dogs romped in the creek was pretty much perfection!

This cabin is perfect, I would like to come back as soon as possible. This is the prettiest cabin I’ve ever stayed in, and the clearest check in directions on hip camp. There are many thoughtful touches that make the place very welcoming and homey. I didn’t use the sauna or the wood burning stove, but they looked beautiful and I’d love to come back and use them next time.

I loved the wooded privacy it allowed. The area has 3 tent sites and 2 primitive cabin sites, close to the shower/bathroom/laundry/utility sink facility. The camp store was great, basic stuff like a few snacks, coleman stove propane, etc. Very friendly staff, the kids play areas are phenomenal! Fishing docs, trails, the canal trail that goes for miles. Trains that go by across the canal but didn't bother me. Pool closed for season, restaurant closed for season, pub open though I didnt go in, pizza delivery nearby, big bundle of good wood for 10$. I will be going back.

Love my annual trips to Randy and Allison's farm to load up on mountain fresh air, Seneca Lake hospitality, a years supply of goat milk soap (THE BEST) and some maple syrup for the hotcakes. This trip attempted the journey in the 68 Suburban, broken down, rebooked The Cabin in the Woods (Hazel, my dog and I's first time) and was grateful for the forced upgrade. No frills lodging with an insulated cabin, well stocked with the basics, charger power and a toilet at the top of the hill, and enough clear tree coverage down below to run Starlink and work off a solar set-up down below. Easy access to Watkins Glen and the surrounding vineyards and breweries. Be sure to inquire about Goat Yoga and stop by the Farm Store! You'll love your experience at Randy & Allison's - check'em out.

Our third time staying here and love it every time! Randy and Allison are fabulous hosts and we love meeting their animals. The cabin is perfect for our family of four with comfortable bunk beds and a queen, with a little stove and a picnic table outside. The view from the top of the hill is magnificent.

Weekend Trip to Haven in the trees
The cabin was easy to find based on J's directions and was in a very peaceful, secluded location, yet not far from food, wine, beer, or hiking. The cabin was very clean, as was the outhouse. We found the screened in porch a nice spot at night to listen to the katydids and crickets and you can just make out the outlines of the neighbors cows across the ravine while enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning. Our host was very welcoming and responsive and provided local recommendations if we wanted to pick his brain. There were also a few local travel and happenings brochures in the cabin to help point us in a few directions. We would stay here again.
