Founded in 1798 by Josiah Brewer, the farm has served as a grist mill, chicken farm, cheese factory. We offer several types of site selection for your comfort. Choose from our private tent camping to relaxing RV sites. Our tent sites are quiet and scenic, just a quick walk down to the pond. Some of our sites you can park next to, but a few you will have to walk ~100 yards with your belongings. Tent sites have a porta-john and homemade outdoor shower for your enjoyment! Our RV sites have full hookups: water, electric and also a dump station.Once settled in, take a meandering walk through our 4 miles of walking trails or find your way down to our pond. The Herkimer Diamond
Home to one of the oldest, clearest Quartz Crystals in the world - The Herkimer Diamond! These gemstones were faceted naturally over 500 million years ago! These magnificent crystals are found in the rock, having a diamond-like geometrical shape. Thus, the name recognition of “Herkimer Diamond”.
Miners' Village is located right next to the campground, offering a variety of shops and activities for everyone! The first stop will be “Village Hall” where you will register your family for mining and receive your equipment. Then you can stop by “Rockhound Academy”, our Education Center and Museum, where you will learn how to mine for your own Herkimer Diamonds! Next door is the “Trading Post” Gift Shop, Sluice, Florescent Room, Artisan Center, and Canteen Cafe!
One you are outside you will be directed to our open rock quarry, where you will be able to mine for your very own Herkimer Diamonds. Sift through the dirt, search on the ground, or use your hammer to break open rocks! Everything you find is yours to keep.
Camping or "Glamping"
Our campground offers many ways to stay, take in the beautiful views, mine for Herkimer Diamonds, and celebrate the area's rich history. We offer Tent Sites for those looking to spend the night cozied up beneath the stars. Choose between our Creekside and Field Tent Sites, as well as optional electric hookups.
For the “Glampers”, our Lodging options offer an assortment of perks to give you the comfort you want. From our Camping Cabins that provide just a bed, roof and refrigerator to our Deluxe Lodging that come with patios, bathrooms and partial kitchens, you will learn what camping in style really means. Are you a star-gazing enthusiast? Check out one of our Astronomy themed lodges, each equipped with a high-powered telescope! Spend the night in a Treehouse, or learn about sustainable energy while you reduce your carbon footprint by camping in one of our Solar Powered Lodges.
At The Herkimer Diamond Mines Resort, we also provide a variety of RV Sites. Full- Hookup or Water/ Electric Pull Thru, Back In, and Pull In sites offer you the ability to camp however you'd like! Grab a spot along the creek and bring a friend, buddy sites are available! We have a variety of KOA Patios for that elevated camping experience! No matter how you choose to stay, High Speed Wi-Fi and Laundry Facilities are available 24/7 to all guests and Golf Cart rentals are available at the main office to make your trip even more comfortable.

Learn more about this land:PLEASE READY ENTIRE DESCRIPTIONA private little campsite in breathtaking upstate New York equipped with a beautiful 4 acre pond right on the property! Sit back and cast a lure, just be sure to bring your equipment as we do not provide any. Our site is located on 155 acres situated on a meadow. If you come at the right time, you can watch local farms in the field! We have made many improvements to our campsite this year! We upgraded our canvas tent and now offer a cabin! Our cabin has a queen bed with a coleman air mattress that can sleep 2. We do have a 5 person tent available for those that have more than 2 adults. There is plenty of room in the cabin for little ones that have sleeping bags or a twin air mattress. We also provide bedding for the queen bed. In the morning, you can sit in our nook inside the cabin to enjoy your coffee or take in the view from our platform which has our picnic table and additional seating. We offer a loo (portable toilet, just use the bags provided and properly dispose of them) as well as a sun shower. We are in the works of adding Shady Groove- a "Cool" place to hang during our hot months. Our favorite feature is our bridge that takes you to the pond for fishing! You will pass this on your way to the campsite, roughly a half mile walk to the pond near our residence. Upon arrival, you’ll have a complimentary jar of blackberry jam made from our own local blackberries as well as access to many of our yard games (jenga, yardzee, and much more!) Located just 30 minutes north of Utica, you will be a short drive from many local restaurants and shopping if sitting at the campsite is not your speed. Drive 40 minutes north to Old Forge, NY for some local shopping, a water park, and a local brewery and some hiking as well!

Our Australian Shepards will greet you and show off their herding skills with the chickens. If you have a hankering for some farm fresh eggs, honey, mushrooms or wild ramp butter, we've got you covered! It's a fun site for kiddos, as well!Downtown Syracuse is a 20 minute drive, the village of Manlius is 2 miles down the hill, the quaint village of Cazenovia is only 10 minutes away and Green Lakes State Park is also a 10 minute drive. Road biking around the area is extensive with plenty variation in scenery. Our farm is 12 miles from Route 90 and 7 miles from Route 20.
