The land is beautiful and Jo is incredibly kind and accommodating. It was a pleasure getting to know her a bit and to walk around EarthSong. This was my first Hipcamp experience and I’m very grateful I got to visit. Jo gave very clear instructions on how to find the place- I managed at night in the rain. I’d highly recommend EarthSong, if I make another trip along the route I would visit again.

Serene setting

EarthSong was a rustic,untamed setting in a rural countryside along side Amish farms and sprawling green meadows. Expect a dispersed type camping experience with few amenities. Be prepared for well water and a humanure privy. The sites have a fire pit,privy and small stone square to wash dishes over or to bathe.Jo has large wagons to bring your gear in. The hike in is about a quarter mile to the nearest site. The foliage around the sites is very dense and privacy is certain. My stay was very quiet with the sounds of crickets and the hum of the wings of insects dominating my ears. Jo is very accommodating and educates you on the fauna of the land. I would stay at EarthSong again for the peaceful setting.

The greatest host. Fresh blueberries to pick, pruned climbing trees, mowed paths, peace and magic. A beautiful fireplace and a sustainable humanure toilet system!

Had A Hoot in Amish Country

If you enjoy mossy, secluded campsites and ample trails through wildflower fields and diverse forests, then Jo’s spot is for you. Very secluded and peaceful, her land is one of envy. Drive to the nearest town, freshwater spring, and/or mining site were all just about 10 mins. Very helpful, thoughtful and laid-back folks. Would 100% come back.

Phenomenal camping experience!

What an amazing property and campsite! My pup and I were warmly welcomed by Jo who took the time to show us around and help us get set up. We ended up going into town together and were given a tour of some very cool reno building projects before having a nice dinner. In the morning, a grey fox trotted past our campsite- I'm still stunned by the sighting of such a gorgeous animal! This hipcamp property sets a very high bar. Wish we had stayed longer!

Wow! Beautiful all around! Jo is an incredible hostess and human. She was readily available and anticipated our needs so well. She does such a great job at preparing the space for a wonderful camping experience. Her loving relationship with the land of Earthsong is palpable and her dedication to serving it inspirational. 100 percent will be back whenever I need peace and calm. The site is ALL the things: private, wooded, dog friendly, quiet, has a potty at the site AND it’s only a short but beautiful drive to town. We visited herkimer mines with our little one, stopped at some Amish farm stands for goodies along the way and explored some of the surround streams for pretty rocks. I really wish we had allotted more time to spend at Earthsong though, it’s such a magical space! I’m so looking forward to our next trip to Earthsong!

We really enjoyed our 2 nights at Earth Song at the 'Ash 8' site. Jo was great to communicate with before and during our stay. The property was gorgeous for a few days of fall camping. Jo gave us a run down of some of the edible (and not edible) plants/berries on our walk to site, and even let us test out her electric lawn mower that my fiancé was interested in.

We had a lovely time at Jo's farm! She welcomed us when we arrived and told us about the plants along the path back to the campsite, which was a private little area amongst the trees with a nice fire pit. She provided us with a couple gallons of water and some fresh eggs! The humanure toilet worked great, but is very public so make sure you are comfortable with the people you're camping with!

Jo was a wonderful hostess! The land is beautiful and the campsite was very private, just a short (5 min) walk from the parking area. Jo provided water, a heavy duty cart to transport gear to the campsite, and fresh eggs for breakfast! The campsite had a fire ring and a humanure privy. There were lots of walking trails but I was only there overnight and had to leave the next morning. I hope to visit again when I have time to explore more.

This was an incredible experience end to end. Jo is lovely, helpful, and knowledgeable, and she takes impeccable care of her property. She puts a lot of care into creating campsites for guests, providing both amenities and being a resource if they have problems. My site was idyllic, and I had a wonderful morning exploring after a great night’s sleep. If you’re looking to learn something as well, come here - I learned no less than 5 things from Jo. Can’t recommend enough!

Relaxing and Quiet stay

We had a great time staying at Earth Song. The Host, Jo, was very polite and so was her dog Ace. We got a quick little tour and a sled to help carry our stuff to the site. Unfortunately, it did snow while we were there so we did not get to explore as much as we would have like to. Nevertheless, it is a great spot if you enjoy peace and quiet.

Amazing camping spot, very secluded and quiet. Would definitely stay here again if I’m ever in the area. The host Jo was very friendly and welcoming and made sure all accommodations were ready to go. Strongly recommend this site to anyone looking for a good camping experience in the area!

Jo met us at her barn with her dog Ace, showed us the property, and walked us back to the campsite. She was very considerate and helpful. The campsites are nicely secluded and quiet. We had a great couple of nights around the campfire. Would definitely stay again.

Jo's land is gorgeous and isolated, and the perfect spot to visit and get away for a bit. Jo and her dog are very welcoming and nice, and I'm only upset I couldn't stay longer to enjoy the land some more. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone, and I hope to come back again soon. Thanks, Jo!

Amazing stay with a wonderful host

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at EarthSong in July 2021. I camped there for one night during my cross country bike tour. Jo was super helpful and her property and campsites are very impressive. I enjoyed walking the trails, picking blueberries, and learning about edible plants from Jo. Thank you Jo for having me and for the unique experience!

Wonderful experience! The property was beautiful, and Jo was a very generous and attentive host. The camp site was private with a very nice fire pit. There were blueberries, access to a well, chickens, and lots of trails to explore.

Earthsong, Skysong, beautiful

This place inspired and replenished me!! Jo and her land and animals and dog Ace and blueberries and beautiful flora welcomed us with open arms. Earth Song is so so beautiful All communication was spotless as well, and Jo offered multiple different walking tours, chance to feed chickens, fresh eggs, and a great compostable toilet setup. Very private, beautiful stars above, and we woke to chirping birds and crowing roosters

It was pouring rain when we arrived and although we initially thought we could pitch our tent at the designated campsite, it became clear we were in a little over our heads. Jo let us camp near our car instead on a drier patch of grass across from the chicken coop. We woke up to the rooster crows and luckily the rain stopped by the morning. We enjoyed the tour of the barn with Jo and Ace (her service dog). Ace has to be one of the most interesting dogs I've ever met... tamed and well-trained, while retaining something of the wolf still very present in his look and spirit.

We had a great time. Jo was welcoming and kind. She greeted us with fresh eggs and whistles for each of my young girls to use if they got lost on one of the trails. She took the time to show us around the site and even showed the girls the best tree to climb. We had to leave early because of cold weather and rain, but we felt the short trip was complete thanks to Jo’s attention to making it a wonderful time. We had a great experience and will return when the weather is warmer!
