Weekend Trip to Big Indian Wilderness Paradise

The site is beautifully isolated and very nicely landscaped included paths cut through the forest to the creek. Everything is well thought out and very nicely presented. We had a great experience. Interesting experiment in being off grid. No cell. No wifi. Just the peace.

The entire lot was well maintained. Tent was immaculate and the owners are extremely friendly and accommodating. Made our first family camping trip amazing! Perfect little spot for people with kids, and a wife that doesn't want the full-on camping experience but a little comfort included. We will be returning!

1 night at Riverfront

Excellent spot to rest for an adventure motorcyclist. Spot was so pretty. The outhouse was super clean. Camping spot was clean. Would stop here again if I'm in the area.

2 nights at Mission Hemlock Grove

Korey's campsite was absolutely beautiful and full of interesting bits of history. A friendly feline tour guide also accompanied us on our hike!

Weekend Trip to Mission Hemlock Grove

The pavilion was great after we spent quite a bit of time cleaning up after other campers or events. We actually set up our tents under it since it rained. Unfortunately, there is no swimming in Hemlock Lake, so we had to drive quite a way to find a swimming hole. Getting water was kind of a pain. The hose outside the main buildings was never turned on and we had to bother people to let us in the building to fill water containers. The dogs loved being off leash when we were at camp. The place is quite fascinating, but needs some major cleaning up.

Weekend Trip to Tomtuga on the Erie Canal

This was one of the most interesting Hipcamps we have visited yet! The Host, Tom, was fabulous and provided enough area information to keep us busy for a couple of weeks, but we only had 2 days. We would highly recommend using this Hipcamp right on the Erie Canal. Peaceful and fun.

What a great little set up! John was super helpful before arrival, the tent was well outfitted with everything we could need and he was sure to check in throughout our time. It was our first camping trip as New Yorkers and I would def return!

The property is beautiful. Mark was helpful and had everything and more ready to go for us upon arrival. The water was refreshing and the tubes to float with were much appreciated! Everything was as listed/pictured and very clean. This time of year is tick season - we did encounter ticks but came prepared, I wouldn’t let it deter you. I’d highly recommend this spot to anyone, it’s worth a visit. Very toddler friendly too, just noting for others that the water at the one site was a bit of a steeper narrow path towards the water, but still very accessible! Thank you for sharing this spot with us to enjoy!

We had an amazing time staying at John and AC’s campsite. It was incredibly spacious with amazing views of the surrounding Catskills. Having a beautiful creek to wade around and cool off in was a fantastic feature that we utilized frequently. The proximity to several great hiking trails was a huge plus as well. If you’re looking for a place to stay in the Catskills then this is one of the best.

Big Indian paradise was amazing. You’re in a secluded spot, with lots of space and there’s also a creek nearby we bathed in the creek and it was so refreshing. It with all the necessary amenities and John and AC even provided us s’mores. The hosts were very sweet and accommodating upon arrival. The area is great as you can hit up some local trail spots. There is no Wi-Fi or cellular so if you’re looking to completely get away this is perfect for you. The beds were comfortable to sleep in. We’re a group of six and it was the perfect size for us. This camp site will always hold a special place in my heart as it’s where we got engaged! We did get a thunder storm one of the nights but luckily not much for wet since we set up a canopy over the cooking area. Definitely recommend brining a canopy for shade and rain.

Tommy and Laura were amazing hosts. We got to feed the cows, they gave us some firewood, and took us on a tour of the property! Bathroom was clean and site was private. Stayed on the last night of our roadtrip and could not have been a better end.

Located atop of a mountain nestled in a breathtaking natural Glen built by millions of years of erosion. Are beautiful spring feed creekway runs through the property with winding trails. So far away but still close enough to grab dinner 15 minutes to Ithaca or cookout on our private fire-pits or bbq grill. You will have access to a spring feed shallow pond at the top of the property. A short hike away. Remember this is a ravine. Bring hiking boots or sneakers and water shoes for those adventurous times. You will have access to the hemlock and fern forest, blackwalnut trail, the Vintage Orchards and Raspberry Fields(coming soon), the gull, ravine and creekway. As well as access to a public discovery area. We have free parking on sites. There is no traditional electricity. Water can be collected and transported to sites from the water connections. We do not have showers facilities built yet but will have them up by next season (solar shower available). , some sites are vehicle pull-up and others are walk-in sites. You can pitch your tent or hang a hammock in the trees.(we will be building platforms and have preset up tents and cabins available next season. As well as winter getaway camping(winter202). We are also improving your experience everyday. Come and visit a non cramped, very well spaced out more private nature experience. We have a beautiful place and would like to enjoy it with others. You can have a private stay or hit the trails and make a new friend even if it's a chipmunk... Most sites are under the tree line and not in an open field. We allow one vehicle per site others can be parked at parking area at entrance. We offer a sunrise , sunset public viewing area for breathtaking sky color shows and tree dances from the wind.
