The plan this year is to add a cabin, woodshed, bathroom and work on the trail system. Each campsite has a buffer of vegetation with the lake as a view, a fire pit and space to have more than one tent. There will be a waste bag toilet. No running water, not much cell service, no electricity. Park at the main road and bring your camping items into the woods. Your site will be labeled. Trash in, trash out. Firewood for sale, camping gear for rent. Canoe and walk the beach (if low levels). Dog friendly: must be friendly, on a leash and please be mindful of dogs digging. Here we value the land, it's sanctuary and soil erosion prevention along the shoreline. Friends and Family Market on rte 1A is the closest resupply.

Continuous Harmony Farm is located on the north side of Camden Hills State Park. When this area was originally settled, the farm was located on the "highway" from Camden to seasonal pastures in Lincolnville. The trails leading to the park still go by the old foundations that dotted the old Government Road from Camden. The farm has 46 acres of flowing pasture, hardwood forest and flower and vegetable gardens. This is a 200 year old farm filled with life. There are well groomed areas and other more wild areas. We are on almost 13 acres of land that attracts all forms of natural wildlife. In addition, we have alpacas, pigs, sheep, goats, dogs, a cat and chickens. There is a beaver pond on the lower property. Each site includes a place to sit and eat (ie. picnic table), fire pit and just breathtaking views. Campers can drive into and park at their site. Each site is separate and private from other sites. We are 15 minutes from Highland Mountain Bike Park We are 15 minutes from BankNH Pavillon (concerts) We are 15 minutes from The Weirs in Laconia (Bike Week) We have two outdoor showers that are very rustic and open and the water is the temperature of the surrounding air (bring a bathing suit or something to shower in, there is no privacy fence at this time) This is an active farm that has an operating butcher shop on the premises. We have a farm store offering a variety of items for sale including eggs, honey, rubs and much more. There is a microwave available to the campers in the farm store as well. Each site will be given a bundle of fire wood on the house, additional wood is for sale. You are welcome to participate in farm work. Coffee (from a local NH roaster), tea, hot chocolate and potable water (from the faucet) will be available daily. We are a farm family with young children so large and rowdy or drinking parties are very heavily discouraged.

Conserved by the South Hero Land Trust, the historic Sawyer Bay Farm on the Island of South Hero was converted to grazing beef cattle. Our farm name is Health Hero Farm. We practice intensive planned grazing, moving the cattle daily to fresh grass. The herd may be near the campsites or completely out of sight, somewhere on our 180 acres. While we were building a house, we camped in the equipment shed during the summer and grew to value its convenience. Joan's enjoyment of cycling inspired her to designate the farm stand as a "bike stop" where visitors could buy a snack, get water, fix their bikes and use the unique islands amenity of a composing toilet in a converted ice fishing shack. A port-a-potty is available during high season. South Hero is an agricultural island, as well as a summer tourist destination with numerous outdoor activities. It is also only a half-hour away from Burlington, and the drive is pleasurable. Pitch your tent, stow your gear under cover and explore all the islands have to offer. Yes, this is a summer destination, with great cycling, boating and swimming. We are a grass-fed beef operation, Health Hero Farm, on the island of South Hero. (You can read more about us on our farm website. ) Our farm is on the bike route around the islands, with access to many other vacation activities. Pitch your tent in the farmstead or in half of our empty equipment shed 30' x 60'. Or tool on down the farm road and be alone with the cattle and grass. In the shed, which is open on the north side, you have shelter from the rain, sun and wind. We have two campsites that can share a microwave, hot plate, refrigerator, camp sink and coffee maker in the barn. Lots of storage under roof for bikes and luggage. Our composting toilet (from Natures Head Composting Toilet) is a unique amenity -- installed in a retired ice-fishing shack (on skis). During the busy summer months, we may have a port-o-let (a.k.a. port-a-potty) with professional service. In the winter, the equipment shed not available. We rent out vehicle and boat storage in the equipment shed and cannot accommodate camping there. However, we have ample parking for RVs at any time of the year. And if you are an experienced snow camper, we have several locations to choose from. We have a farm stand where you can buy a few snacks. If you want to try our beef, we'll be happy to show you our freezers. We are 2 miles from a convenience store that packs an amazing array of products into a small space. We are close to a gem of a public beach, a winery (Snow Farm Vineyard), apple orchards, a public school playground, and miles of scenic driving. Local farmers markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays offer some of the best produce from these agricultural islands. We also own 1000' frontage on Lake Champlain, which you may enjoy. It is difficult to access, but affords privacy and serenity. We allow campfires on the gravel areas of the farm and on the beach, where you can gather dead wood. If you want to host a large group, you will need to reserve both campsites and rent a port-o-let (Vermont's lingo for porta-potty) if we don't already have one. Additional fees might apply. There is no RV electrical hookup; however, the equipment shed has electric outlets for your use. Additional fees apply for energy intensive appliances, such as heaters or air conditioners. There is no water hookup; however, we can fill your tanks with a hose from a potable water supply. Generators are not allowed, unless you are sufficiently distanced from other campers and our neighbors. Other accommodations may be available. Just ask! We have many resources, and want you to have a great visit.

Beautiful sunrises, clear dark skies that allowed for amazing star gazing. I don't think I've ever seen the milky way so brilliantly. We spent an hour on the beach hunting for beach glass. Found a rainbow of colors. All under the watchful eyes of lobster boats and harbor seals. Just tremendous!

Lucindas place was incredible. The water so close by, the gorgeous trees and fields, and the horses made our stay perfect. So quiet and peaceful. The outdoor shower was so so perfect. Fantastic set up for the campsites. We felt very comfortable there, and would absolutely recommend this spot to anyone.

Amazing stay at the overlook. Excellent view of the water and a family of harbor seals just off shore for our entire stay. Also had a visit from a bald eagle. We stayed during a storm so had the whole place to ourselves. Quiet and relaxing, would definitely stay again.

Weekend Trip to Magnificent View Blueberry Hilltop

What a glorious view we had! Everywhere we looked was something to “Oooo Wowww!!” at!! Fall is a perfect time to come as the blueberry field’s leaves were all changing to red. Our doggie girls had a blast hiking around with us, as we collected beautiful rocks along the way. With the storm coming in, it was wicked windy and very cool to listen overnight. Thank you for a unique and beautiful experience on your property that we would never seen if not for HipCamp!!

Weekend Trip to Islands Base Camp

We had an amazing trip. The farm is beautiful and Joan and Bob were such great hosts. We had amazing communications prior to the trip. I noted that they were an active farm with farm store so I placed a beef order on there website for my favorite cuts prior to arrival and they had the order ready for me when I arrived. The meat was amazing and added to the experience. Joan and Bob were super accommodating in helping us find the perfect spot for our site. It was nice to have access to toilet facilities. The farm is nestled in a biking paradise, located on the greenway bike rout that leads to the island causeway. The causeway enables you to ride into Burlington making use of the bike ferry. Loved the adventure.

Weekend Trip to River Farm

Area is off the beaten path and we lost service so couldn’t communicate with the rest of the people meeting us there but we all found it! Wonderful place to stay with a cute water area that would be so much fun to hang out in for longer. Plenty of space for vehicles and multiple tent sites! Good amount of tree coverage when raining. Would stay again!

2 nights at The Point

This is my second stay at the Point, this time in a split party of four. Incredibly cozy lodging. Got down to 44° overnight and felt totally comfortable in just a light sleeping bag. Linens were also very nice. Lucked out and had beautiful weather all three days of our stay, so we got to see seals hunting and at play every morning and evening. The boldest of them will poke their heads up to have a look at you if you're on the water in a kayak! Very cute. Verdant, mossy trails with an incredible variety of mushrooms and critters to spot. The wagon and the A-Frame both make for very cozy lodging, but the additional cost of the A-frame is justified by its view alone. Beautiful, beautiful location.

Great place! Great host. Peaceful island. Clean and neat accommodations. Stayed in site 14 - its was tight in and out as well as parking for a 23’ Airstream trailer and truck. But we made it work and were grateful for it.
