We had an incredible stay! The setup right along the river made for such a peaceful, scenic backdrop, and we loved how private the whole area felt — didn’t see or hear anyone other than a few occasional boaters on the river. The paddle board and kayaks added so much fun too, allowing us to explore the river right from our spot. Things here are simple and relaxed. Our host Rita was exceptionally welcoming and attentive. She checked in briefly every morning, making sure we had everything we needed. Would recommended to any family looking for a quiet and private outdoor getaway. Thank you Rita!

This place was great! There was a mix up with recreation.gov and I was left with put a spot to camp at sunset. I got in too late to realize how beautiful it was. I had forgotten to download the map so finding it was a trick. I had to drive back down the mountain to get a signal. Very quiet. When I woke up I took a walk and was wowed. It is now on my list of "go tos"

The site was easy to find, my husband and I arrived after dark and Mike had a cone at the opening to help us find it. It's right by the horse barn which is where the toilet is, which is convenient for bathroom. They were doing a bit of work so it was loud with equipment, but the grounds are lovely, Mike was awesome and we loved meeting the horses and the dogs! Great location! 15-ish minutes from SPAC and Saratoga.

We had a wonderful camping trip at Site 1. The riverside views were beautiful, and the site felt private, spacious, and comfortably cool thanks to the shade—especially appreciated during the summer. There was plenty of room for our car and tents, making it a great setup for our family and dogs.
Jim was a friendly, helpful host, and we especially appreciated how clean and well kept the bathroom and shower were. The river access was a little adventurous, which made it extra fun for our kids and dogs, and there are great kayaking opportunities nearby.
The bathroom and shower are located at another site. They are not far away, but having direct access from Site 1 would have made an already excellent stay even more convenient. Overall, a beautiful spot that we’d happily visit again.

5 nights at Camp TedRock Adirondack Retreat
Ted's A frame site was the perfect stay for us. We had the best time relaxing and recharging out in the woods there. Ted has done an outstanding job making his property inviting and comfortable while allowing you to be totally off grid and remote. The A-Frame was clean and spacious and right next to the hangout area of the campsite with an outhouse close by! The use of his all-terrain cart was invaluable to be able to take food back to the car at night, as there is a short walk on trails to the site. Next time we'll pack a "daily meal" cooler to make this easier for ourselves instead of hauling the main one back and forth!
When we arrived the site was prepped with our breakfast cooler add-on with fresh eggs, bacon, local syrup, and more! The firepit had a nice pre-built starter fire ready to light. Multiple lanterns in the cabin made our headlamps optional in the best way. We were the only ones there during the week and enjoyed the complete silence of the forest around us of his property. Despite that, we were still close enough to Lake George for a hike to the Pinnacle and anything we needed. Close by we were able to go kayaking on Garnet Lake (shout out to Ted for the recommendation!) and do some Loon watching.
Overall a wonderful stay and this will absolutely be a place we come back to in the future. Ted clearly cares about his guests experience and puts love and effort into these sites.
