2 nights at Mariaville Goat Farm Yurt
Brought my girlfriend here as a little surprise trip for her bday and she absolutely loved it!! I was a little nervous about the weather but it ended up being so cozy inside the Yurt with the snowfall outside. Such a nice and relaxing stay with wonderful hosts that accommodates to all of your needs. Was so relieving to be able to pack nice and light and just hangout. We had everything we needed! Awesome hosts and a an awesome place. Ed made sure we had plenty of wood the entire time and was always available if we needed anything!

Had a great stay, amazing space in the wooded area. Has a fire pit and picnic table. I think it’s the best space because it’s the most private. Right on the edge of the water. If you turn around you do see the other glamping spots and when I was there they were fully booked. Late at night the other tent was making a lot of noise and they went on the water using the canoes so that was annoying when I was trying to sleep. Also since it’s right by the water there were a lot of flies and they basically attacked us and our two dogs. They bite really bad , my one dog was bleeding from his noise and paws because they were swarming him. As soon as the sun goes down they leave though. Overall beautiful spot but flies are really bad, so try to be out during the day.

Great tent spot right next to the historic sugar house where Analog Cycles started. Peaceful and easy to find, this was a 5 star car camp spot for sure!

This is such a great place for camping! Really nice tent sites and a very cool communal fire and hangout spot. Easy access to anything you might need in Poultney and also tons of great riding!

What an amazing property with incredibly kind owners!!! It's an off the grid location, which is what we were looking for to unwind and regroup with life. Disappointed we fell ill with horrible head colds and didnt get an opportunity to explore all there was to see, which only means we 100% need to come back. But there is no better place to lay around, stare at the pristine nature views and fall in and out of naps. We brought our 2 dogs and they loved the property and all the exciting wildlife they got to see. 10/10 recommend if your not afraid of being detached from the world and survive with out running water and electricity!!!!

My goodness what a cool place, it was very clearly laid out, with the communal spaces very warm and inviting. They thoughtfully provided fire wood was very clean and dry. There was really delicious driving water and a dishwashing station stocked with eco friendly soap! The owner was readily available for every tiny question I had and even extended his hospitality to his business in town. I loved every minute here. Very quiet and private, also very respectful of the land and their neighbors.

You will not regret a stay at Mariaville Goat Farm!!
Rick and Ed are the most gracious hosts I have ever met! They have such a beautiful sustainable farm and you would never expect the impeccable treats and food that was delivered by hand to our yurt! Just amazing!! And I cannot say enough about the goats! It was an amazing experience and I totally fell in love with all the goats (especially Audrey Hepburn and Iris) and Rick’s gentle demeanor!! The yurt was awesome and we had a blast. It may be off grid but so comfortable and welcoming! We took the goatie herd for a beautiful walk. I cannot say enough about the farm!! It was perfect!! I will definitely be booking again for next year!! It’s a must!!

We had a lovely stay at the Tansy site. James is a great host and gave us clear directions and recommendations for things to do. We even got to enjoy some foraged blackberries with our breakfast in the morning. With all the maple trees the site would be especially pretty in the fall!

2 nights at Mariaville Goat Farm Yurt
I was not expecting the level of hospitality that we received during this trip. I thought going “off grid” meant we would be roughing but man was I wrong! I was completely immersed in a cocoon of comfort and safety. Rick and Ed are the kindest souls who spoke softly as they showed us around and gave us helpful tips on how to interact with the goats and how to enjoy the yurt and property to the fullest. My friend and I took the goat herd for a walk on the trails and everything is well maintained but still completely natural. I laid on a yoga mat and rested with a warm breeze and 5 goats laid beside me and rested. It was so sweet. 🥹 There are beautiful sculptures throughout the property that are made with things that the world would call junk… they’ve turned each piece of “junk” into a work of art….vines intertwined, a slab of rock with smaller rocks and pine cones artfully placed, pieces of broken mirrors lining up along a ridge…stone creatures here and there…I don’t have enough space to list all of the interesting things that we saw! I highly recommend all of the meals, which are delivered right to your door and arranged beautifully. There was so much of everything. Do not bring snacks! You will not need them lol! The yurt itself is cozy and stocked with far more comforts than you can find in any 5 star hotel. I absolutely cannot wait to go back! I simply adore Mariaville Goat Farm!! ❤️

We had a wonderful stay at meadow lane! Great location. Close to town, swimming and biking! The woods have a great maple leaf canopy that allows you to sleep in well into the morning. Water jugs at maple shack was clutch and porta potty was clean!

I'm a veteran HipCamper, so I've been to many sites across the USA and Canada. I can say without prejudice that Cedar River was one of the nicest locations I've ever stayed. The property is absolutely beautiful and private. Located five minutes from town, so it's conveniently located, yet it's far enough off the main road to be very quiet. I slept peacefully at night in silence.
The only thing to be aware of if you go there, is the lack of shade. It's very open field areas are full sun, so bring an umbrella, or canopy to make shade.

As described, rather basic amenities but splendid rustic camping! I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. The layout is slightly confusing at first but will immediately make total sense as soon as you actually arrive and look around. Didn't use the communal fire pit or area but seems like it would be lit (ahem) for larger groups and gatherings. Recommend!

We loved our glamping experience in Indian Lake Ny. We had the property to ourselves and enjoyed boating, watching the loons in the lake, making meals over the fire, great hiking trails nearby, stars were amazing. Definitely a good spot to relax and slow down, will be back. There were No showers, that was the only thing that would’ve been nice to have.
