Camping without a car? No camping gear? No Problem!
Wait until you see the bathhouse - hot showers on one side, flush toilets on the other, and in the middle, sinks for cleaning up and sinks for dishes. There are also two dryers in case your gear gets wet.
We created Primitive sites for the novice camper as well as Platform Tent Camping for the less experienced.
The owner, Dick Malouf, wanted to create a location where everyone could enjoy a hike and a place to stay under the stars.

We are located in the heart of the Hudson Valley, close to the Village of
Rhinebeck and the Hudson River.
There are many things to do within a half an hour of the campsite.

A very spacious semi-wooded site that is in the shape of a triangle. The dimensions are approximately 100' by 100' by 50'. Perfect for the large group camp out or the family site. The Lean-to is approximately 10'x9', large enough for a small tent or keep the picnic table in there for bad weather.
Large or multiple tents no problem, put your tents in the wooded area where there is room for multiple tents. There is a fire pit area, picnic table, 4 outdoor chairs and corn hole that all are included with the site. A seasonal stream runs along the campsite giving you a nice bubbling brook sound. Plenty of privacy with screens around the site.
Within 15-20 minutes of our site is just about anything you could desire. Local restaurants, hiking, fishing, shopping, drive in movie and much much more. Rainy days no problem explore one of our nations pieces of history, Vanderbilt mansion, Theodore Roosevelt home, Montgomery Place Mansion, Poets walk, Ferncliff forest, or Art Omi.

Our *NEW* cabin is located on the top of a clearing in the mountains outside Wassaic. Enjoy swimming, hiking, chilling, fires and sunsets views without any light pollution or street noise. Designed as a retreat for the modern creative, the cabin is fully off-grid but features Starlink Internet, a compost toilet and heat / AC. We do provide 5 gallons drinking / cleaning water, but during the winter no sinks or showers are operable.
Nearby towns (Kent, CT / Wassaic, NY) have awesome art, shopping and plenty of food options as well as easy access to the Appalachian trail and Macedonia state park.
15 minutes from the Wassaic metro north station, the cabin can be reach by taxi. The cabin is accessible by car, but may require a short hike in after heavy rain or snow.

We had a wonderful stay. The host and his family were so friendly and accommodating. The site had plenty of space and gave us enough privacy. The lean-to came in handy during our first night when we had some heavy rain.

This is the best deal in town. It was equally as comfortable as a hotel but you’re out in a beautiful landscape. There are privacy screens, so while the owner’s home is in sight, it still feels like you have your own space. George was really welcoming and we chatted about their lovely garden. Next time, we’d like to stay a bit longer, as this was just an overnight before the Fall Foliage Half Marathon. But nevertheless we woke up feeling rested for the run and really enjoyed our brief stay.

We stayed for one night and didn't spend much time at the site since we were visiting our son in college nearby. But it was just what we needed! A quiet, wooded spot with a covered picnic table AND dry lean-to just the right size for our tent (made for very comfortable sleeping). George and his wife were very friendly and gave us directions to the nearby farmer's market. It's a wonderful area to visit and this campsite was a very pleasant alternative to staying in a hotel.

Great site for a laid back weekend! Host was so kind and helpful, directions were clear, site was immaculate and includes a covered picnic table/benches, fire pit with chairs, outhouse and lean-to where games, potable water and more chairs are located. My 3P tent fit in the lean-to which I opted to set up in due to the sudden severe weather and not a drop of rain made its way inside. Plenty of places to set tents up if you'd rather sleep outside. Traffic noise was minimal and privacy screens are set up around the site. Rhinebeck is close by for trails or dining out. I was mostly here to get some quiet time with a stack of books while recovering from a back injury, but there's plenty to do on and off site as well. I'll definitely be back.

Plenty of trees for hammocks, a spacious fire pit, and very peaceful at night. It's a great escape.

Ben the host was very friendly and helpful. The camping area was beautiful and grassy. The absence of rules and overly restrictive regulations was exactly what we were looking for. It is not an overly coiffed space but the community vegetable patches were very cool to see. Lots of wood to use and we had a wonderful bonfire!

This was a great place to park the pop-up while we went and did things and just come back to sleep. We live on a road, so the traffic noise didn't bother us. The field is roomy and the host is very nice.

The site is near the host’s house, but there’s enough distance and privacy screens to make it private. Host George was super nice and gave clear instructions quickly. It’s a very organized, quiet, and peaceful campsite. I’ll definitely come back.

Nice clean space. The site had fire pit, lean-to and far enough space to pitch in tent on ground. The host was very kind, and easy to communicate with and helped us with fire starter. There was fresh water to drink, and provided us with basic necessities. Definitely recommend.
