The fall, cool crisp days and changing leaves are just a few short weeks away. NOW is the time to book your experience with us. Enjoy rustic camping on our 115 acres of upstate NY forest. We are just a short drive to Cooperstown, the Baseball Hall of Fame and the summer baseball camps as well as the other museums that it has to offer. Howe Caverns in Cobleskill is also about 30 minutes away as well. The property consists of a mixture of upland hardwoods (mainly Oak, Maple and Cherry) with scattered stands of Red Pine, White Spruce, Hemlock and two open fields/pastures. There are also the occasional conifers scattered about just to keep things interesting. The majority of the property is gently sloping from the South up towards the North. The is also a nice ridge on the NE corner of the property to aid in topographic diversity. One of the fields is a seven acre hay field and the other is a five acre food plot planted in clover, chicory and other grasses. This field has also been recently planted with Apples, Pear, American Plum, Red Osier Dogwood, Persimmon, Red Mulberry, Chinese Chestnut, and Hazelnuts. These are all young at this time but will start to provide diversity and wildlife interest in the coming years. Wildlife abounds here at the homestead. Whitetail Deer and Eastern Wild Turkey are very common to see. We also have a variety of small animals as well such as Red and Grey Squirrels, Raccoons, Porcupine, Opossum, Fisher etc. For the birders, we have Barred and Great Horned Owls and Red Tailed Hawks. It is also not uncommon to see Bald Eagles soaring over the fields looking for their next meal. All of the property is easily accessible via our extensive trail system. There is also another 187 acres that borders our land that also has trails that would allow hiking. We have detailed maps so that getting lost would be the least of your worries. The site known as "Million Dollar View", never fails to deliver a stunning backdrop for our vacations to the Berkshires, no matter the time of year! My wife and I, recently finished up our 5th trip to Vermont, while staying at Nick's property. This Hip Camp location is hard to beat in the way of beautiful long distance views, a well kept camp site/ beautifully cared for land, and it's general proximity to Williamstown and other areas. This site is perfect for those who enjoy a primitive camping experience. Before you even arrive to the camp you'll enjoy a short drive through old growth forests! We won't give away all the hidden treasures of Nick's property, you'll have to find those on your own! If you're looking for a quiet, well kept and truly special spot to camp, this is it! Nick has certainly earned a repeat customer with us, and we feel very fortunate that this spot is available. We respect the property and appreciate the work that has gone into making it truly one of the BEST primitive camping experiences in the area!

We had such a special weekend camping on Robert's land. Pictures don't do it justice. It is jaw dropping beautiful and very private. Robert is the best hip camp host we've ever had and we've used hip camp for years. He is reasonable, flexible, and very considerate. The outhouse is extremely clean, and he provides firewood for purchase, a fire pit, wash stand for dishes, and a wood countertop perfect for your camp grill to sit on. The location is primo with lots of cute little towns around and hiking trails right off his property. We are definitely making an annual trip here.

The valley was such an amazing place to camp at. The amenities were clean. There was plenty of distance between the sites to feel private. We will definitely come back to camp! PSA vehicle with decent ground clearance is highly recommended and there is no cell service once you drive past Phoenicia.

3 nights at Sweet Spring Farm RV Site

Jeff and Milton have a lovely property in a beautiful part of upstate NY. We chose it as it was a short distance from the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) for a show we planned to attend. We enjoyed riding bikes along the country roads and the pups had a great time playing in the lush grass. The 30 amp hookup worked perfecty and the well water was clean and clear. We also had a fun evening by the fire on our last night and highly recommend this spot for a unique private getaway in a gorgeous setting with wonderful and helpful hosts.

Beautiful private campsite with amazing views. We booked site #1 and didn't see anyone around. Went to Stewart's for firewood but the host also left some wood for us. Good for stargazing. Great mid point between Saratoga Springs NY and Manchester VT too. Would recommend!
