The cabin was built with respect for the environment. We constructed it with locally harvested and milled lumber and approached the build with minimal impact on the surrounding forest. The cabin is off grid and uses a small solar panel which charges a battery for the water heater and a light. We utilize rain water for the shower and sink which collects in a large tank. The cabin is located in a remote area of Bear Swamp State Forest. It is about 5 miles from the nearest paved road but has seasonal roads that take you to the cabin. There are many close attractions like Skaneateles Lake and Carpenters Falls. The Cabin doesn’t have electricity or water but we do have a generator available. We do not have a shower or bathroom but we have an outhouse. We do ask people to bring their own gas if you want to run the generator and woods to make a fire. I highly recommend 4x4 vehicles but I been there in a civic and a mini van.

This is a beautiful piece of property located in the heart of the Finger Lakes and Wine Country of NY. It features a stunning spring fed waterfall and nice forest land. Very close to town but also very secluded and private. Great place to unwind and relax from our everyday lives. It is situated however in a gully next to a creek and waterfall so it is susceptible to heavy rains. It is recommended to at least have an AWD vehicle if rainy. I can usually help campers with getting to the site in my side X side if you need to park up at the pasture. Please order enough wood initially as I have found I spend a lot of time delivering extra wood to campers. It seems as if you will typically go through 2 bundles per night on average. Also I supply a contractor size garbage bag to you if you choose garbage removal. It is also a good idea to text me when you have a solid ETA so I can be here to take you to the site. I want to mention that the two sites closest to the waterfall are a slight hike in and can only accommodate up to 4 person tents so if a bigger group or vehicle camping you will be placed at another site. Enjoy private fancy camping in this light-filled, fully furnished cabin on a platform overlooking a pond, pastures, and the valley beyond. Situated on a working farm just 15 min. southeast of Ithaca, NY, this is perfect for a family or romantic get-away. Unplug, relax, and visit the local trails, wineries, and waterfalls, or just hang out and enjoy the view!
We only have the one cabin, so you will have the entire space to yourselves, including the hot water showers, flush toilets, and outdoor kitchen at the nearby bath house.
Luxury camping has a greater level of comfort and convenience, but it is still camping. This means the camp area can be affected by extreme weather, insects, heat, and noises in the area (dogs barking, neighbors mowing lawns, etc.) We work hard to ensure the most pleasant stay possible. There are mosquito screens on all windows (and under the cabin decking!), but insects can still find ways to creep in. Rainstorms can be quite loud on the metal roof of the cabin. The bath house is a short walk away down a gravel path, which may feel longer in inclement weather. Keep this in mind when booking as we don't refund for insect issues or undesirable weather conditions during your stay.
We provide all linens and towels.
You will have private access to a rustic outdoor kitchen in the bath house, a 10-second walk from the tent cabin. The kitchen is stocked with a small fridge, 2-burner stove, dishes and flatware, cutting board and knives, olive oil and salt. We also supply a charcoal grill, charcoal, and a lighter. We provide fresh-ground organic coffee and sugar, a French press, and a drip coffee pot. We also provide a fire ring, kindling, and firewood you can use to have a campfire during your stay.
A wide variety of staples (including beverages (24 beers on tap!), sandwiches, and breakfast options) is available at Brookton's Market 2 miles down the road.
Other things to note
There is no Wifi at the cabin or bath house, and cell service is very spotty and somewhat dependent on your carrier.
While there is electric service at the kitchen/bath house for charging phones and other devices, the cabin has no electricity. We provide some basic ambient lights and portable solar lanterns, but you may want to bring headlamps.
The parking area is about 50-60 yards from the tent. There is a gravel path to walk on.

The cabin was super cute & the property was lovely. It was a beautiful view from the porch, the pond was so peaceful. Unfortunately we didn’t get to paddle around in the canoe like I had hoped, but it was a nice option to have. There was a jug for water provided for the spigot that was just a short walk away, dishes, utensils, & cooking necessities provided. There were a bunch of games & little puzzles stocked in there as well which was nice. The propane lamps provided a nice ambiance & heated the little space up quite a bit! It was also nice to have so many animals to visit! The few people we saw were very nice & the host, Marie, is very kind & responsive to messages.

Our third time staying here and love it every time! Randy and Allison are fabulous hosts and we love meeting their animals. The cabin is perfect for our family of four with comfortable bunk beds and a queen, with a little stove and a picnic table outside. The view from the top of the hill is magnificent.

Weekend Trip to Haven in the trees
The cabin was easy to find based on J's directions and was in a very peaceful, secluded location, yet not far from food, wine, beer, or hiking. The cabin was very clean, as was the outhouse. We found the screened in porch a nice spot at night to listen to the katydids and crickets and you can just make out the outlines of the neighbors cows across the ravine while enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning. Our host was very welcoming and responsive and provided local recommendations if we wanted to pick his brain. There were also a few local travel and happenings brochures in the cabin to help point us in a few directions. We would stay here again.

Eshay was very communicative and helpful - I accidentally booked for the wrong dates (Fri-Mon instead of Thurs-Mon), but when we showed up on Thursday she was able to accommodate us and we could pay for the extra night on arrival, which I really appreciated. Very nice secluded cabin not far from the many Ithaca and Watkins Glen parks and attractions, with lots of pretty cool fossils in the creek bed on the premises and an epic large boat parked on the grass. Warm shower requires boiling water and mixing into a makeshift shower contraption but fully workable (gas stove in cabin). Power available via generator but having no experience with it we didn’t use it. No cell reception so be sure to plug into Google ahead of time. Super easy to find tho. Recommend!

Ken's cabin was the perfect escape from reality. Very short walk down to the waterfall or up the hill to watch the horses graze. Not far from Montour Falls or Watkins Glen was a huge plus because we were able to beat the crowds at Watkins Glen State Park. Wouldn't recommend for motorcycle camping because to road down to the cabin gets fairly muddy, but we would definitely come back in the car!

Erica was a lovely, responsive host! The cabin is cozy and so well-situated. We loved star-gazing at night and exploring the area by day. The outdoor kitchen and bathroom were honestly the cherry on top. It was rainy for part of our stay, so even though our campfire cooking ideas were thwarted, we were still able to whip up a tasty meal and enjoy it outside. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back!
