We just said farewell to our last horse who was 30 years old, so we also offer room for your horses if you are traveling with them. A $25 per horse fee will be charged per day. Bring your own feed, please. The property includes a round 350 square foot straw bale structure with a queen size bed, reading nook (which can also suffice for a second (twin sized) bed for a 3rd person). There is A/C and an electric 'wood stove' for heat. The kitchen includes instant hot water and everything to prepare a meal (you bring the food). Amazing 360 degree views from the rooftop include the Sangre de Cristo, Sandia and Jemez Mountain ranges. The outhouse is fully equipped (even heated in the winter months), super clean and just 25 feet from the door. Looking for the perfect way to end your Hipcamp vacation? How about some true high desert GLAMPING!!!! Come enjoy a serene and restful vacation at a truly unique space. A straw bale hogan surrounded by a beautiful terraced garden with seating areas, water feature, and 360 degree views of desert and mountain ranges from its roof. The land in this part of New Mexico was part of the Madrid (family) Spanish Land Grant. It is the location of the oldest turquoise mines in North and South America. Plus one of the oldest gold mines in North America. The neighboring towns are close by and quite famous and filled with things to do. History abounds here and I am happy to tell the tales! There are several restaurants to find a great meal and musical entertainment. Believe it or not, there is a lot of talent in them thar hills! Hiking, biking and horseback riding are available in the Cerrillos Hills Park just a mile away. There's even a nice arroyo trail to take you to the Galisteo River riparian area just feet from the hogan door. We even have a horse barn, round pen and a couple acres of fenced desert. We just said farewell to our last horse who was 30 years old, so we also offer room for your horses if you are traveling with them. A $25 per horse fee will be charged per day. Bring your own feed, please. The property includes a round 350 square foot straw bale structure with a queen size bed, reading nook (which can also suffice for a second (twin sized) bed for a 3rd person). There is A/C and an electric 'wood stove' for heat. The kitchen includes instant hot water and everything to prepare a meal (you bring the food). Amazing 360 degree views from the rooftop include the Sangre de Cristo, Sandia and Jemez Mountain ranges. The outhouse is fully equipped (even heated in the winter months), super clean and just 25 feet from the door. We allow dogs (please let me know how many when making a reservation) and have room for tents and motorhomes. Soon to come next Spring is a Boho chic horse trailer!

Very cute little place. Nice private location, but easy to find. Pat is very kind. There were a few things in the Silo that didn't work upon arrival. Pat brought in the maintenance man, but was unable to fix them during our stay. Thanks for putting in the effort. The bed is very firm but we found it very comfortable. Well stocked kitchen and linens situation. Porches are really nice for enjoying the views. We would definitely stay here again.

The camper is super cozy and has beautiful views. There is a stovetop, sink, and composting toilet inside the camper – and a great outdoor seating area outside. It was chilly in late October, so Kate set me up with lots of thick blankets and I stayed very warm! Kate is open and welcoming but also gave me my privacy. Great stay!

My stay at the year on the Mesa top totally exceeded my expectations. Kate was there to greet me and show me around and really has put many magical touches on the place. There was everything I need to cook, do dishes, even take an outdoor shower. I came in late fall, and while it was cold at night, the propane heater was toasty. And the bedding was amazing, so I didn’t even need the heater when I slept. The views and the stars and the location are unparalled. I would definitely come back!

Pat was responsive to all our questions before and during our stay, and we appreciated her flexibility. Our concern about a gas smell turned out to be an unlit pilot light on the stove, and that was easily remedied. We also wondered if a silo would be drafty--but it wasn't. We were there in early October, and the view of the surrounding Chama River Valley was beautiful. We loved the Silo and would stay there again!

A great retreat into the mountains. We hiked from the cabin and also drove to and hiked in Valles Caldera. Magical location. Beds were very comfortable. Cabin amenities were good. Just take care driving on the unpaved road up to the cabin. Stay center when possible to avoid ditches on the right.
