Camp Rio, formerly named Camp @ Cloudcroft is located in beautiful SE New Mexico! This clean family park is surrounded by thousands of acres of the Lincoln National Forest. The forest is laced with small villages, picturesque roads, riding, hiking, golf, and walking trails. Small valleys, surrounding mountains, racing streams, wildlife, birds, mountain glens and outdoor activities are available to Camp Rio guests. The small towns around us are Mayhill, Cloudcroft, Weed, and Pinion. These towns have scheduled activities such as arts and craft fairs, car shows, bluegrass festivals, dog shows, and Lumberjack days. Additional day trips to Alamogordo, Capitan (Smokey the Bear), Carlsbad, Las Cruces, Lincoln (Billy the Kid), Ruidoso (skiing), Sunspot (National Solar Observatory, Truth or Consequences (Hot Springs) and White Sands National Monument! Guests enjoy our upgraded free wifi to have the best of both worlds, surrounded by beautiful nature, while still being able to connect with family/friends/work. We loved the privacy and beautiful views from El Campo. The yurt was comfortable and cozy and the full bathroom was great to have. We enjoyed wandering the roads of the property with our dogs on the gravel roads. Host was responsive and communicative. Thanks for our stay!

2 nights at El Campo Glamping LLC
I loved glamping in El Campo! The views are stunning and the area is not completely isolated so you still feel safe that big foot won’t be strolling by. The hosts were quick to answer questions and the space provided was just as described! The beds were comfortable and plenty of blankets were available. The wild life is plenty and we even met some of the neighbors at the bottom of the mountain and got to pet their goats. Remember to take plenty of water and a cooler to keep it in as there is no fridge. There is a little country mountain store near by but it has limited options. I will definitely return and have already shared the listing with friends that are interested in staying.

2 nights at El Campo Glamping LLC
We had a great stay at El Campo Glamping. The yurt is huge and very cozy with a heater, table and chairs, coffee, games, and lots of extra blankets. There’s also a BBQ, cooler, and three really nice outdoor seating areas to enjoy the space. The bathroom next door has a toilet, shower, and running water which made the stay very comfortable. The hosts were quick to respond and helpful.
Tip: I wouldn’t recommend arriving after dark — it’s much easier to find and settle in during daylight.

Fabulous. Super cozy, has everything you need. Neighbors totally get the chill vibe — no noise, no drama. Really private, clean, well-equipped, and just 20 minutes out on a smooth road to the nearest town. Views are insane. 10/10 would stay again.

Weekend Trip to Southern Rockies Camp & Cabins
We had a lovely stay on the property! The owners were amazing and waited up for us. We did get lost. GPS took us on a different route so whatever you do… follow the directions the host sends you and type the address directly into the gps. And we are pretty experienced off roaders and adventurers so we thought eeeeeeeh we will be fine after dark. We got there but if you can get there before dark I highly recommend it! We can’t wait to go back and spend more time on the property! Thank you!!!

We had a great stay the cabin was beautiful and had everything we needed and some. It's in a very peaceful and secluded setting nestled in the Sacramento Mountains. The hosts were very nice and welcoming. We enjoyed exploring the property.

Stopped by White Sands after visiting Carlsbad Caverns. Someone gave us a sled that they had bought and after sliding down for a while we returned the favor and gave it to someone who had gotten there after the shop had closed.

I love coming here and walking around without shoes. The Gypsum sand is cool to the touch and it’s so grounding. Sledding down the hills is also fun!
