With land by the river comes the mosquitos- June to August. They are predominantly active during sunrise and sunset; long loose fitting clothes and/or a repellent work great.
Waterhole, Waterfall and climbing sites near by, as well as Plaza Blanca, Abiquiu, Ghost Ranch and the Taos Gorge are 30 mins drive away.

Each site is nestled beneath towering Ponderosa and Blue Spruce pines and Aspens. They offer level ground for tents, grill for cooking, and easy access to nearby hiking trails, Cowles Ponds, and the soothing sounds of the Pecos River. Whether you’re stargazing by your campfire or sipping coffee with the morning breeze, this is where relaxation lives.
Your campsite is part of the Vida Bonita Pecos complex, which includes beautifully remodeled cabins and the remodeled Ponderosa Lodge. While you’ll have total privacy at your site, guests are welcome to explore designated areas of the property, our trout pond, and free roaming chickens and turkeys.
We don’t pack campers in. No RVs. No generators. Just you, the trees, and a sky full of stars.

Located on a homestead of 9 acres within the foothills of the Sangre de Cristos Mountain Range, part of the Carson National Forest within hiking distance.
This is a special remote neighborhood that sprang from a '70's compound, which was centered around the Tibetan Buddhist stupa, south from where this camp is located. The skies are some of the darkest in the United States. The milky way is visible from the parking lot of this camp, at 8000 feet elevation, northern high alpine desert transitional zone.

This is is a campsite, please come prepared to camp, and you will enjoy this experience. The sites have been made flat, there is river water available for washing, but must be boiled before drinking to prevent giardia. Firewood available, Please always ask before starting a campfire, in case of fire bans or other factors.
Quiet, amazing view of the Sangres, hiking and national monuments nearby, ski valleys, grocery store, Village of Questa is 8 miles, Village of Red River is about 20 miles. Great Sand Dunes is about 2 hours north in Colorado.
Wild and Scenic Rivers Park, Rio Grande del Norte river about 10 miles. We ask that you arrive before dark for ease of setting up your tent and finding the outhouse and outdoor shower area. Hosts are on or near the property (or within a mile). It is easy to get lost: DO NOT rely on GPS. Use the written directions in the listing to save you from getting lost.
It is a goal to produce as little waste as possible on this property. Please avoid excessive plastic bottles. Pack in, pack out your trash and recycling. We will provide drinking water, and all other water is available at the campground. Please put up all food since we are in guests up here in bear, mountain lion and coyote country. No poisonous snakes or mosquitos (usually) up here at 8100 feet. There is all kinds of wildlife can be seen up here from time to time, and many varieties of birds, and also bats.
If you're into camping by car, tent or tipi, this camp is for you. We offer two 30 amp sites for small travel trailers.
Our position on a mountain slope at 8100 elevation means this camp is very dry, and cold at night.

Our stay at the Springwild property was a great experience! Tucked just outside of downtown, it was easy to find and offered a quiet and beautiful place to stay for the night. Raven was an incredibly friendly host and showed us all around the property. All of the buildings were unique and connected to the local art. The camper was cozy and offered everything we needed for our brief stay. We also enjoyed waking up to the friendly chickens!

Really nice well set up yurt. Great views and privacy. Comfortable beds. Has lights, heat, power, and some water provided. Has a camp stove but we had a problem getting it to light, so we used our own. The only issue was some barking from nearby dogs intermittently during the night that woke me up a few times, but obviously that's outside the owners control. Overall we enjoyed our stay!

A super cute place. The cabins were super clean and the wood stove got so hot! I got to pet some kitties and i saw chickens and there are laundry facilities which come in handy for travelers. This RV is luxurious and the hosts are kind and sweet! Such a relaxing space, with every comfort you would want glamping. We had so much fun camping here! Would definitely recommend. Cheves's Yurt was about 30 mins north of Taos, make sure you make it down there for some tacos and art. Cheves has done a nice job of setting up this off-grid yurt. The outhouse is nice, he's got electricity (for charging and lights - but not for big electronics) and heat to keep you warm at night. Bring extra layers if coming in winter, but we loved our stay (obviously, this is off grid camping folks with a nice mattress), it was beautiful and affordable and comfortable. FYI there are free roaming dogs in the area - I would like to come back in the summer and use the outdoor shower! Cool place. There is a burner for coffee, but you do need to bring anything you want to cook. Thanks Cheves.

This was an amazing stay. We would highly recommend staying here. The yurt was very clean and the surrounding area is beautiful. It was amazing to sit outside and look at the sparkling night sky.
