Brad and Ciana welcome you to the Santa Fe Treehouse Camp & Wilderness Preserve, managed by The Wilderness Institute. The camp was founded 40 years ago as a summer camp for kids. We continue to offer camps for children and their parents and grandparents (family camps), as well as welcome adults and other groups to enjoy the vast and wild high desert nature up on this ridge. "BE A CAMPER CONSERVATIONIST"! Register for our nature education activities and resources lead by The Wilderness Institute (available for all of our guests). These topics include sustainability, recycling, composting, water conservation, wildfire prevention, outdoor safety, and nature awareness along with the use of our hiking trails. You can also join an archery class, tomahawk throwing, climbing on the mobile climbing wall, Yoga, Tai Chi, Climbing Into The Heart of the Mother Tree, Star talks and more! (https://wildernessinstitute.org/outdoor-programs/) There are beautiful views and access to Shaggy Peak, the southernmost tip of the Rocky Mountains and the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range. Wander our land to enjoy various level hiking trails including a 20 minute hike to a creek and waterfall in the forest (some steep spots and creek is intermittent) or climb up Shaggy Peak (seasoned hikers only please). IMPORTANT: We are up 1.3 miles of dirt road (with 5-7+% grade in a few short stretches) and are not near public transportation so you will need your own vehicle! Be aware that the roads can be snowy, icy or muddy and rutted ( 4-wheel or All-trak recommended in certain times of year). We don’t guarantee the road will be plowed. We generally close for the season due to cold weather around Halloween and reopen just before Memorial Day. This is a non-smoking, no candle facility.

The land is covered in juniper, piñon, and ponderosa pine, and various cactus plants. Enjoy the peace and quiet and the clear view of the celestial grandeur of the sun’s cycle or the brilliant show of stars in the night sky. Enjoy the birdsong and wind whistling through the trees when you stay in this 10' x 14' canvas tent. There are two single beds. Please bring your own linens towels and toiletries. There is no electricity inside the tent so also bring your own lantern. Bordering the Santa Fe National Forest's Pecos Wilderness Area there are beautiful views of Shaggy Peak, the  southernmost tip of the Rocky Mountains and the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range. Wander our land to enjoy a 15 minute hike to a creek in the forest (last three minutes is steep and creek runs in wet weather). We have various other trails for you to explore as well...one being the closest access to Shaggy Peak (seasoned hikers only please). The camp is located about 20 minutes from Museum Hill, 25 minutes from Meow Wolf, Old Town Santa Fe Plaza and just 15 minutes to delicious food at Harry's Roadhouse, Jambo Bobcat Bite and Cafe Fina.   NOTE: We are up a 1.3 mile dirt road with two steep hills and bumps. We are not near public transportation so you will need your own vehicle! Be aware that the roads can be snowy, icy or muddy in early spring, late fall and winter, and rutted due to rains in the summer. Bordering the Santa Fe National Forest's Pecos Wilderness Area. there are beautiful views of Shaggy Peak, the  southernmost tip of the Rocky Mountains and the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range. No matter if you are a back sleeper, side sleeper or front sleeper the Tentsile Safari Connect 2-Person Tree Tent is made for you. Just a short minute walk from the Birdbath Communal Restrooms and showers and another minute to the Communal Cook and Dining area, this site offers easy access to all the comforts this camp has to offer. It is directly across from the Wilderness Center hang out area with comfy couch, charging station and a secondary kitchen area. ***Bring your own bedding, pillow, towel and toiletries. The land borders the Santa Fe National Forest's Pecos Wilderness Area with its extensive hiking trails and backpacking opportunities! You can enjoy dramatic views of Shaggy Peak, the southernmost named peak of the Rocky Mountain's Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range from most of our camp sites. Explore our hiking trails including a short 20 minute walk to a creek and waterfall (last trail section is steep and the water flow is intermittent). Treehouse Camp is known for having the best access trail to the top of Shaggy Peak and its tremendous 360 degree views of the surrounding area! (Seasoned hikers only please.) Located just 20 minutes from Museum Hill, 25 minutes from Meow Wolf, 30 minutes to the historic Santa Fe Plaza, Canyon Rd Galleries, and the famous Santa Fe Opera, you are not far from much of what Santa Fe has to offer.  And, three much loved restaurants, Harry's Road House, Jambo Bobcat Bite, Bourbon Grill, and Cafe Fina, are just 15 minutes down the road! Forest Glade Group Camp is perfect for tent camping or sleeping out under the stars with your family or friends. There are 12 camp sites surrounding a central area, a shelter with picnic tables, a cook prep/stove table, and a large secure metal food box... all within your own private camping space. (Contact us for rental prices of cooking and camping equipment). There are portable toilets very close to the group site and the Birdbath building with flush toilets, sinks, and showers is just a five minute walk from the Forest Glade Group Camp. If some of your party is NOT into camping, please check out our listings for Zen House, Exotic Serenity Yurt, Mustang Bunkhouse, Singing Nail Cabin, Pegasus, Tecolote Treehouses and Sunrise Treehouse sites all within a 5 minute walk or very short drive! NOTE: We are up a 1.3 mile gravel road with two steep hills and some bumps. We are not near public transportation so you will need your own vehicle. Be aware that the roads can be snowy, icy or muddy in early spring, late fall and winter, and rutted due to rains in the summer. At those times of the year we recommend a car with front-wheel, all track or four-wheel drive and good traction tires. Please note that the group site is priced for 12 people. Additional adults (age 13 and up) are $25 per night with a recommended total of 32 people.  Please only add all guests aged 13 years and up to your reservation. (Children 0-4 years old are free, 5-12 years old $12.50, 13 years and up $25.) To reserve the half-priced child fee please notify us directly and plan to pay by cash, Zelle, Venmo or PayPal when you arrive.) We are a non-smoking facility and open campfire restrictions may be in place. There is parking for 4 cars at the group site with additional parking spaces elsewhere on the land. Please consider carpooling! We recommend arriving before dusk. The group site, access trails and campground road are minimally lit with solar lights. (Which makes for ultimate star viewing!) The legacy of Santa Fe TreeHouse Camp includes rustic tree house style cabins. The original creators of the camp wanted to make a safe place for children to enjoy the outdoors. Now, these treehouses are available for family and adult reservations to relive the childlike wonder of sleeping amidst the trees. TreeHouse Camp includes 156 acres of land bordering the Santa Fe National Forest's Pecos Wilderness Area. There are beautiful views of Shaggy Peak, the  southernmost tip of the Rocky Mountains and the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range. Wander our land to enjoy a 15 minute hike to a creek in the forest (last three minutes is steep and creek runs in wet weather). The Tecolote treehouses are slightly further from the outdoor kitchen and bathhouse and a bit further apart from one another (than Pegasus treehouses) for privacy. There is a communal, designated fire pit and stunning views of the mountains. Within a comfortable walking distance (4 minutes) from the flush toilets and showers, 1 minute to the portable toilets. There is no electricity at the Tecolote sites. ***This site has 1 Queen and 3 single beds. . We provide mattresses with a fitted sheet as a mattress cover, you need to bring your own sheets to put on top, blankets, pillows or sleeping bags as well as towels and toiletries, lanterns and flashlights (don’t sleep directly on the sheet we provide). If you are traveling without these items let us know ahead of time and we may be able to offer these for a fee. The Santa Fe Treehouse Camp and Wilderness Preserve is anon-smoking facility featuring 156 acres of highland forest. It is at 7,700' above sea level and is located at 46 Treehouse Road, Santa Fe. The land is covered in juniper, piñon, and ponderosa pine, and various cactus plants. Enjoy the peace and quiet and the clear view of the celestial grandeur of the sun’s cycle or the brilliant show of stars in the night sky. Enjoy the sounds of nature and the view of the passing clouds through the dome skylight when you stay in this unique Mongolian Yurt bordering the Santa Fe National Forest's Pecos Wilderness Area. There are beautiful views of Shaggy Peak, the southernmost tip of the Rocky Mountains and the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range. Wander our land to enjoy a 15 minute hike to a creek in the forest (last three minutes is steep and creek runs in wet weather). We have various other trails for you to explore as well...one being the closest access to Shaggy Peak (seasoned hikers only please). The camp is located about 20 minutes from Museum Hill, 25 minutes from Meow Wolf, Old Town Santa Fe Plaza and just 15 minutes to delicious food at Harry's Roadhouse, Jambo Bobcat Bite and Cafe Fina. NOTE: We are up a 1.3 mile dirt road with two steep hills and bumps. We are not near public transportation so you will need your own vehicle! Be aware that the roads can be snowy, icy or muddy in early spring, late fall and winter, and rutted due to rains in the summer. At those times of the year we recommend a car with front-wheel, all track or four-wheel drive and good traction tires. ---------------------- Since the camp is quite dark at night and site locations are spread out throughout the land we recommend you consider arriving while it is still light out. It makes locating us easier and you will get to experience our beautiful sunsets and have more time to enjoy this enchanted hilltop! Checkin times are 4-8PM Spring, Fall and Winter and 4:00-9:45pm in Summer. Quiet hours are 10PM-8AM. Please do not come before 4pm without prior permission. Once you have located your site you are welcome to leave and come back after the normal check in time without a fee but please be as quiet as possible.

We have various other trails for you to explore as well...one being the closest access to Shaggy Peak (seasoned hikers only please). Zen House has a bathroom, full kitchen, bedroom and fenced yard. The bedroom has a king bed with organic bamboo sheets and a Swedish Designs Sleeping Couch that converts into a bed 80" x 50"  (4 inches narrower than a full size bed).  Located less than an hour from Santa Fe Ski area, 20 minutes from Museum Hill, 25 minutes from Meow Wolf, 30 minutes to Old Town Santa Fe Plaza, Canyon Rd galleries and  the famous Santa Fe Opera you are not far from all that Santa Fe has to offer.  There are three much loved restaurants just 15 minutes down the road as well. NOTE: The beautiful drive to reach us meanders through the historic quaint village of Canada de Las Alamos. Mountain views and evergreen forests border the 1.3 mile dirt road, which is just far enough to get away from the hustle and excitement of Santa Fe but close enough to enjoy all that Santa Fe has to offer. Since the area has minimal lighting for star viewing we recommend you bring flash lights and you consider arriving while it is still light out. It makes locating us easier and you will get to experience our beautiful sunsets and have more time to enjoy this enchanted hilltop! Checkin is after 4PM. Cell reception can be spotty, Verizon best. Wifi calling seems to work well though. Well behaved dogs welcome with pet fee. All dogs must be on a controlled leash while outside Zen's fenced yard.

My husband and I loved staying at Santa Fe treehouse camp. We were doing a 7-day trip where we spend half the time in hotels then 3 days at treehouse camp. The accommodations there just absolutely can't be beat for the price. We stayed at one of their dispersed campsites, and although it was small, there was more than enough room for our tent and pop-up bathroom. If you're staying at the furthest dispersed sites and have a portable toilet, I would suggest bringing it since the nearest porta potty and the showers are a bit of a hike away. The shared facilities (kitchen, fridge, bathroom, shower) were so nice to have especially on a long road trip. The entire campground itself is very quiet and our site in particular, the one furthest out, looked straight out to a rocky mountain peak, which was beautiful to wake up to. Finally, as a bird lover, I really enjoyed myself here, especially seeing all of the hummingbirds at the feeders near the kitchen. Do yourself a favor and pick Santa Fe treehouse camp! You won't regret it :)

This was an awesome location with beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The kitchen was clutch and really gave the trip an extra level of convenience for us on our journey.

We had an incredible time at Ciana and Brad's. They are lovely people with a great mission. We booked the tree climb with Brad for our daughter and her friend and he was so great with them! Keeping them safe while encouraging them to figure out their own paths through the branches and making us all laugh the whole time. Not to be missed. Also with the burn ban in New Mexico I wasn't feeling the campground cooking we would need to set up at the state park I orginally booked, the communal kitchen was an awesome asset as a place to make most of our meals and to hang out in the rain. We will be back!

This place is awesome! Very nice and clean facilities along with friendly and knowledgeable staff. The weekend activities were also a cool addition I was not expecting. It's just a short drive (25 min) from historic downtown Santa Fe and has some awesome views of the surrounding landscape.

I can see why Santa Fe Treehouse is number 1 for Hipcamp in NM: the land is spacious, well taken care of and Ciana, Brad and Jonathan were exceptional. I felt super safe staying solo. Trails right from the campsites, heated bathrooms, tasty water and breathtaking views. I will without a doubt be back to stay here the next time I visit Santa Fe.

Pegasus 2- Hanging Cot Treehouse
We loved this intentional and creative spot! The treehouse is roomy and all the beds were comfortable- my kids loved the hanging bunks. It was a fun change from all the tent camping we were doing on our road trip through New Mexico and we appreciated the bathhouse and kitchen spaces. It’s a beautiful and serene area and Ciana was wonderfully welcoming and helpful with getting us settled in. We definitely recommended the treehouse!

Ciana was very welcoming. The spot is a perfect wilderness dream with epic mountain views & hiking trails. The shared kitchen makes it great to store, reheat & cook food. The shower has great pressure and gets hot!!! I just spent a night but what an amazing night sky it was.

Loved the warm greeting when I arrived about 6 with a last second booking. Cool space up on a mountain with great views, clean facilities, and friendly staff! Would stay again to get more time to hike. The night sky was beautiful!! And it gets chilly at night brrrr. I was there with my small dog and we felt very safe here

We enjoyed our stay. Ciana was even kind enough to come out in the rain to check us in early when we arrived before check in time. The clean showers and restroom were a plus and much appreciated. We did not utilize the outdoor kitchen, but it was fully stocked and a nice touch. Our only regret was that we couldn't build a campfire at our personal campsite, but understand that rule is for everyone's safety. The camp is nice and quiet and we felt very safe camping here. The camp host and staff were friendly as well. Thank you for having us. We hope to come back in the future.

A MUST STAY when visiting SANTA FE!

This place is an absolute dream. My partner and I booked to stay on a whim in our camper van and we could not have been more pleased we did. Ciana was exceptionally kind and helped us secure the best spot for our rig. We also met the groundskeeper (Jonathon I believe) who was friendly, helpful, and informative! The view of the Santa Fe National Forest was breathtaking. We were even able to get some stargazing in! The amenities were great, especially the bathroom which provided much need warmth and relaxation and driving from the Midwest. Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer! IF YOU HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO STAY HERE. DO. IT ! We will absolutely be back and are going to make it a point to stay longer and take advantage of the hikes and other activities. Thank you Treehouse Camp for one of the greatest nights sleep, I’ve ever had!

Beautiful place. I’m going to stay longer the next time. The tree house is big and clean. Mattress are good. The kitchen and Comunity areas are big, clean, and have everything that you need. Kid and dog friendly. You can hike, archery, or just relax. Easy to arrive. Wonderful views.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The facilities were great and the natural beauty you're surrounded by was fantastic! The tree tent was quite comfy, and the view from our site was beautifully peaceful. Ciana was incredibly welcoming and attentive as well. If you have the opportunity to stay, I highly recommend, and be sure to go on a hike with Jonathan (the campground host)!

It was wonderful! Great set up and very helpful people. Toilets, showers and sink were well taken care of. Would do again so that we could actually go on the hikes in the morning and afternoon, we just a little late and tired when we got there.

The campground was easy to access and conveniently located—less than 30 minutes from downtown Santa Fe. The amenities were excellent, especially the clean bathrooms and showers. I also appreciated the dishwashing station, which was very handy. While the campsites are fairly close together, there are some spots that offer a bit more space and privacy if you're looking for it.
