This camp was founded over 30 years ago as a summer camp for kids. Now we welcome adults, HipCampers and other groups to enjoy the vast and wild high desert nature up on this ridge. There are beautiful views and easy access to Shaggy Peak, the southernmost tip of the Rocky Mountains and the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range. Wander our land to enjoy a 20 minute hike to a creek in the forest or climb up Shaggy Peak average 3 hour round trip. NOTE: We are up a 2 mile dirt road and are not near public transportation so you will need your own vehicle! Be aware that the roads can be snowy, icy or muddy and rutted ( 4-wheel or All-trak recommended). We don’t guarantee the road will be plowed.

Wonderful campsite!
We loved staying at Santa Treehouse and we will definitely return when we are in Santa Fe. The site is a very inviting ranch, really well maintained. The main bathroom is really sweet and clean with nice showers. There is also a short hike down to a beautiful, small waterfall. Ciana was out of town, but we had the pleasure of meeting Brad and really enjoyed talking with him. He was so interesting and welcoming.

Nice camp and great views
Nice facilities for tent camping, especially for a group excursion. The bath house was clean and the outdoor kitchen had everything you need. The camp is at the top of a hill so be prepared for a climb (the last couple of miles are unpaved), but the destination is well worth it.

Ciana and Brad were friendly and did whatever they could to make my stay enjoyable. The bathhouse and kitchen were great. And I enjoying hiking on the state land just adjacent to the Treehouse Camp. Nice trails in there.

I only spent one night but it was exactly what I was after. Met by a very friendly guy that explained the area to me and even offered to give me directions for a waterfall hike, however I wasn’t long there long enough to check it out. The bathrooms and showers were spotless. Definitely plan on staying here again on my next time through town.

Beautiful Spot Near Santa Fe
This is a really special spot. Adjacent to some national forest land. I could really see the Milky Way like I don’t get to do back east. The cabins are decent. They could use a chair or two and not so many beds. The bathrooms are super clean. Overall a great place to sleep for a few nights.

This is a beautiful camp site. We walked to a small waterfall as the sun was coming up. Would come again!
