3 nights at Deep Woods Hideaway
We had a fantastic stay in Billy's camper last weekend when we were in the area to bike at Highland. We enjoyed it so much we're going back next week! His property is private with beautiful Mountain View's and the camper was spotless with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. He was an amazing host, even dropping off wood so we could make a fire in the evening. It felt more like a relaxing getaway than staying in a hotel like we usually do, and the camper had plenty of space for several adults to stay comfortably. He isn't kidding that you need four wheel drive to get up the steep driveway - but the views are worth it!

Weekend Trip to Deep Woods Hideaway
Billy is a great host! He's bought a beautiful plot of land and is developing it himself, and in the mean time has created a few sites for folks of the hipcamp persuasion. We stayed in the camper, it was super comfortable, and Billy was very responsive and helpful to make sure we had a great stay. I'd highly recommend. Only note would be that when you enter the property, it kind of looks like you're driving into a construction site, Billy's driveway goes straight up hill and the address marker is a small plaque on the road. You're in the right place, and if you have trouble finding it just give Billy a call. 10 min from Tilton, Tilt'N Diner is right there, plus a walgreens and anything else you may need. Great spot, we'll be back for sure!

What a beautiful spot to spend a few days along the river. We especially appreciated the surprise connection to hot air balloons taking off or landing in the nearby meadow. Marty was gracious and gave a helpful tour of the farm and cabin

This was my second time at the Sugar Shack and it did not disappoint! Marty was a gracious host as usual and the land is beautiful and well cared for. My siblings and I stargazed, had multiple fires using the ample supply of firewood, and enjoyed a few visits from Bluey the dog. On our second morning there, we got to see two hot air balloons launch from the field! It was awesome and Marty checked in with us beforehand to make sure it wouldn't disturb our camping. Highly recommend a visit!

Weekend Trip to Clay Hill Corners Blueberry Farm
We had a great experience camping on this adorable blueberry farm! Our 1 year old French Bulldog, Bruno, perhaps had the best time of all, as he got to become BFFs with the hosts’ sweet dogs, Bluey and Ella. Our favorite moments were watching them run around our campsite and play for hours together.
The sugar shack and the surrounding camp area were private and provided us with everything we could need - a cute little cabin, running water for the sink, solar shower, fire pit, charcoal grill, and trash/recycling receptacles. We really enjoyed how the site was out of sight from the main house but close enough to feel our hosts were at an arm’s length and nearby should we need anything. Marty was super welcoming and helpful, laid out all important instructions as well as ideas for fun outings and activities, both on their land and beyond it. With his help, we took off on a quiet 3 mile kayak trip down the Ottauquechee river where we saw bald eagles and blue herons. At the end, Marty picked us up with the kayaks to drop us back to camp, and even took the time to show us a few extra cool spots for fishing and canoeing. His expertise as a fishing and canoeing guide really shows!
Their land is beautiful and serene, very quiet save for the sounds of nature around you. We got lucky to lounge back and watch the hot air balloons hover over the river and nearby the property both days of our trip!
This was our first experience using HipCamp and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend!!

A wonderful property! Would stay again. Very clean, very friendly, with lovely little touches.
Was a joy to watch the sun set and rise on the farm. Rooster started at exactly 5:05am! Was audible but nothing you can’t sleep through. Found it to be a joy to walk the property in the morning. Looking forward to a fall visit as the season quickly changes!

We had an absolutely wonderful weekend staying in Billy's camper! From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for a treat. The camper was spotlessly clean, incredibly cozy, and comfortable.
Billy is an exceptional host - kind, accommodating, and genuinely attentive to our needs. This was our first camper experience, Billy took the time to welcome us personally and give us a thorough tour of all the amenities. His hospitality truly made our stay memorable.
We were searching for the perfect weekend escape that offered both seclusion and stunning natural beauty, and this location delivered exactly that. The views were breathtaking, and the peaceful setting was just what we needed to unwind.
Our dog absolutely loved the stay, especially getting to hang out with Billy's friendly furry co-hosts, Pumpkin and Ranger! It was heartwarming to see them all become fast friends.
The camper itself exceeded our expectations, offering every comfort we could want: a wonderfully warm space on cool nights, a comfortable bed, a cozy fireplace with reclining seats, and a hot shower. Billy checked in with us daily, ensuring we had everything we needed, and was always just minutes away if we required anything.
He provided excellent recommendations for nearby trails and hikes that really enhanced our outdoor adventure.
We honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a perfect blend of comfort and nature!

Property is great with a nice cozy cabin for indoor campers and a HUGE flat open field with bordering shade for tenters. Adjacent blueberry fields, close-by outhouse, solar shower and wash sink are great adds as is free firewood. Chairs and a charcoal grill with all supplies, and a hammock!. Best of all 2 gracious kind and thoughtful hosts in Carol and Marty who will engage you to ensure you have everything you need. Marty even provided a map to a secluded swimming hole in a forested stream that was absolutely delightful on a hot August day! He also lent me his trekking poles for its steep access trail. Carol offered a workspace setup for my daughter to get some last-minute work done so she could join us sooner!
We all had a great time and will be back this place is at the top of our list!

Amazing site and fabulous hosts! Cabin with amazing views, facilities exceeded expectations, and the pond was a huge bonus. Hosts were available and helped us get situated with all the many options onsite. It is a real farm! The fire pit, Adirondack chairs and grill made the site super comfortable. Speaking of comfort, the cabin was spacious, beds and linens clean and comfortable, the mini front porch chairs perfect for a quiet cup of coffee surveying the mountains in the distance. We brought our springer spaniel and she also had the best day ever!! This was our first time using Hipcamp and we will certainly be going back to Julia’s site as it offers a beautiful refuge in a beautiful region. Their efforts made this site a memorable one! Cabin, 5⭐️, Local Farm 5⭐️, Site and Amenities 5⭐️ but the Hosts truly made this a site to remember.

Staying at the sugar shack on Carol and Marty’s blueberry farm was unforgettable. Marty’s hospitality blew me away—he carved a path to the river so I could go paddle boarding and shared everything I needed to know about the property. Comfy bed, free firewood, hammock, and nature galore. Peaceful, wild, and perfectly welcoming. Highly recommend!

Group trip
Carol and Marty were very sweet. As was their puppy and cat that visited us throughout the trip. The bed was great for my mother-in-law who can't sleep on the ground anymore. Plenty of room for a couple of tents. The sink made cleanup easy and the firewood and starter provided us a fire for all our cooking needs.

Weekend Trip to Clay Hill Corners Blueberry Farm
This was our second trip to the Sugar Shack and I hope we'll have many more. Carol and Marty are warm, friendly, and helpful. The sugar shack is beautifully located in a secluded corner in a field with wildflowers and blueberry bushes. We especially enjoyed the plentiful dry firewood on a chilly July morning. Marty also arranged a really fun point-to-point paddle down the White and Connecticut rivers which includes several bald eagle sightings. Their two dogs and one cat also add to the fun.

My husband and I had a great time staying here. There was great communication from Carol and Marty, and clear directions to the site. It was fun to chat with Marty about the blueberry bushes on the farm. There was also a great thunderstorm the night we stayed which was a fun experience while sleeping in the shack!

If on any lists, bring it to the top. Marty and Carol were phenomenal host, really giving you the layout of the land upon arrival. Check-in was a breeze and their land is spectacular.
I came before the blueberries were ready to be picked, but I’ll definitely be back for that and more.
