Sweet Song Acres is 100+ acres of secluded forest nestled along the Little Sugar River, at the base of Perry Mountain.
Located in rural Unity, NH and Charlestown, NH, just across the Vermont state line. Southernmost point, located in Charlestown is one of two campsites. The other is Shady Grove, located in Unity.
The two sites, located in bordering towns share the same entrance and are connected by a 1/4 mile trail. Both are very large sites. Campers would drive to both sites down a trail so we highly recommend a vehicle with decent clearance and 4WD or AWD. Southernmost Point is a fully drive-in site. Shady Grove campers park above the site and the campsite is down a short path, just a few hundred feet or so.
The property consists of varied terrain of rock ledges, lush moss, streams, and panoramic views at the summit. There are many options of local outdoor activities in the area or if you prefer, just sit and "listen to the river sing sweet songs to rock your soul".

Total trip from our house is 320yd if your car is not up to the trip in.

We appreciate our guest leaving the camp as found. So far so good!
Camp has the following: LP 2 burner cook top, pots and pans, dishes, flat ware, some spices and such.
Fresh clean water will be at the camp when you arrive.

Using GPS, Google map, or other device our address may come up as Perkinsville, Ascutney, or even Springfield even though the town is Weathersfield.
Check the map and just confirm that Center Grove Rd is shown or called out as off of Weathersfield Center Rd.
Firewood for the outside fire pit is available under extras.
However if it has rained or raining you may want to bring kindling wood.
We now have slab wood for sale if you do not want to rummage for wood in the forest
PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN KINDLING WOOD FOR THE STOVE.
Chunk wood is furnished for the inside stove. There is a splitting maul, snow shovel, and hatchet

We live on a 30 acre homestead in southern Vermont. Besides our animals (currently 6 baby goats, 13 chickens, 2 cats and 1 amazing border collie), we have a beautiful pond, outdoor brick pizza oven (with advance request we can deliver fresh pizza to your campsite), a lean-to where you can gather for dinner or put your tent under if the weather is bad, gardens, the best star gazing you can find, and a beautiful view. Our campsite is secluded, peaceful, and provides access for up to 4 people and 2 cars. It includes an outhouse, lean-to shelter, two fire pits, Adirondack chairs, and hammocks. The site is about 200 feet from the parking area, accessed by a slight downward slope. We provide a cart to help carry your gear. Though you may spot us gardening or swimming nearby during the day, your campsite offers plenty of privacy. With no other houses on our dirt road, you’ll be surrounded by nature. Clear nights are perfect for stargazing, and the pond beside the campsite adds to the beauty.
Although the site has no running water, we provide a 5-gallon jug with a spigot, filled with fresh well water for drinking, washing, and cooking. You can refill it at our house if needed. If you need a shower, we recommend bringing a solar camper shower and hanging it from the lean-to.
Our dog usually barks at your arrival but is very friendly and loves people (she will certainly greet you).
You’ll have ample space around your campsite to relax. We respect your privacy and kindly ask you to respect ours. Our house, vegetable and flower gardens, greenhouses, and lawn are private.

Easy access to beautiful Chapman Pond (100 yards away), which is stocked with Trout and also home to Bass, Crappie and Perch. Great place to fish or just relax! The use of two kayaks and firewood available at no extra charge. (IF using the kayaks, they are to be brought back to the campsite and NOT left at the pond. If they are left at the pond and stolen, campers will be responsible for the replacement cost, which is about $600.) Lots of wildlife (loons, turtles, geese, deer, bear etc). You're free to explore the land and trails that go part way around the pond to the "Big Rock" and beyond. Info at the campsite for other nearby hikes and activities. We allow public access to the "Grassy Area", however larger camper groups that book this site have full access and are welcome to setup tents there, but no fires are allowed on the grass.. only in designated fire pit.
(FOR THOSE WITH A TOW BEHIND CAMPER, you will want to drive to the pond boat landing at the end of Chapman Pond Rd, turn around, head back towards the campsite and BACK IN.)
FOR THOSE WITH DOGS, we love dogs, we have our own. For everyone's safety and well-being we ask that you please keep them with you and under your control at all times. We have a farm nearby and want no casualties because of a loose dog. Also, our 90 lb APBT is very friendly but not to every dog he meets. $20 PET FEE - 2 DOGS MAX.
SMOKERS, we allow smoking at the site but please dispose of your butts properly and help keep our property beautiful.
Situated about 300 feet away from our farm, you will hear our roosters crow every morning. Properties are separated by a field and tree line. So yes, technically it is our "backyard." The public access road does go by the campsite and access to our bell tent site does go directly thru this site. If you're looking for complete privacy, this probably is not the spot for you.

Spring is lambing time on the farm. Lambs will be hopping, bees will be buzzing and the garden will be getting planted. Apple blossoms will soon be out. It's lovely!
Our farm was named after the summer home of Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg. Trollhaugen Farm means Troll hill, but the only real trolls around these parts are the sheep. Our farm has sheep, pigs, chickens and ducks that you are welcome to visit.
The yurt sits in the woods next to a babbling brook. A suspension bridge connects you to the farm area. The yurt is private and has a fire pit right out back where you can grill or just sit and enjoy the fire.
The colorful yurt offers a comfy four poster bed, a small kitchen area and a bathroom with shower and composting toilet.
This is a great place for children, bikers, swimmers, hikers or anyone who just wants to get away from it all for a few days. There are many lovely hikes, one of which takes you to a pond you can swim in. You can also hike up in the woods behind the yurt.
Newfane village is one of the most picturesque villages in Vermont, with a courthouse on the green. There are two restaurants in Newfane, two coffee shops, a flea market on Sundays, and a great antique store. We are close to Brattleboro, home to one of the best coops in the northeast, as well as many fun stores and an art museum.

We loved tent camping at Tripp Mine! Joseph was flexible and was available to assist with us getting to the camping area. It was a great experience to having a great camping area where you can hunt to the find our favorite gems!
One thing I would recommend for anyone planning a camping trip is to ensure that you have a vehicle that can handle a long bumpy dirt road to get to the site area.

We had a great stay at this cabin and would absolutely come back. One of the things I appreciated most is how private it is—unlike many other rentals, there are no additional sites on the property, so the cabin and the surrounding space are entirely yours.
The cabin itself is exactly as described, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up. What truly stood out to me, though, was how welcome we felt. As an immigrant, I’m very intentional about choosing places where my family—and really anyone from a minority background—can feel safe and respected. This was definitely one of those places. The owners are genuinely kind, good people, and it shows in the way they host.
A lovely bonus: they make their own maple syrup, which you can purchase during your stay.
And the views are beautiful—you can see the mountains right from the cabin, which made mornings and evenings especially memorable.
Overall, a peaceful, welcoming place that I’d highly recommend.

Weekend Trip to Green Mountain Getaway
This little getaway was the perfect little adventure for my boyfriend’s birthday. The hosts were so helpful, giving us the option to purchase fire wood for the wood stove. We didn’t think we’d need it but the brisk mornings and breezy sunsets gave us the perfect opportunity to get cozy. The view left us stunned as we do not experience anything like it in our small Mass town. We cannot wait to plan another trip here to experience every season!

My husband & I stayed in John & Pattie’s cabin for his birthday, and we brought our 3 dogs! We typically choose secluded sites as our dogs are very weary/nervous of strangers and like their space. This cabin was the perfect spot for them! A heads up; they give you warnings via signage in the cabin and i will warn you as well; there are a LOT of ticks! it’s the woods, there’s gonna be ticks but we’d use a sticky roller & find one every time we were outside on the dogs. just get a good flea & tick for them 👌
there is a cast iron stove that kept us extremely warm during the below freezing nights, & our hosts provided all the wood for the inside stove which was so kind.
on our way home to philadelphia, we stopped by a local dispensary and met some of the nicest people. we’d never been to vermont before & this was an amazing first experience. everyone we’d met there was sooo nice, starting with our hosts John & Pattie! we bought some of their homemade maple syrup (HIGHLY recommend)!
John also came up to the cabin to check on us & surprised our dogs, (our dogs don’t love strange men… apologies again, john!) and he responded exactly as one should when approached by barking, nervous dogs. it was refreshing and while i’m upset with my dogs for running up to him, it’s nice to see someone who understands how to interact with dogs.
thank you so much for having us, we will be back for a winter camp next season ❤️

When you want a rustic outpost to enjoy the night listening to Owls and other natural sounds, this is the place to be. Though a bit different from what was expected, it's a place for the guys to get together and have a great time in their 4-wheelers!
The Platform is big enough for 1 large, or 2 smaller 2-person tents, plus there's plenty of land to pitch a tent on the ground. A fire pit and optional chopped wood are ready for a gathering. Bring some gas tanks and hook up for grilling. Very difficult to see the owner's house from the site, so it is truly a night under the stars.

We stayed 2 nights with our 2 dogs in March. The weather was colder than usual, both nights below freezing temps outside. The wood stove had no issue keeping the inside of the cabin very warm despite the cold (accidentally let it get up to 80+ degrees and had to open windows). We brought all of our usual camping gear because I like it be overly prepared but didn't need most of it at all. Would have been fine if we just brought food and clothing everything else is provided. Very quiet and secluded feel with a nice view overlooking valley below and mountain across the valley. Good view of the sky and no light pollution. Great trip very relaxing was able to put phones away and unwind.

With pets
This is my third time at this dome with the same best friend. We love it every time. We go on walks, downhill skiing, cross country skiing, and love coming back to the yurt with a fireplace.
We have brought a dog with us every time and it has been extremely easy. The bed isn't huge so depending on how many dogs sleep with you, think about that.
It also does take some time for the yurt to actually start warming up after starting a fire, so take that into account on what time you are arriving and how cold it will be. However, once hot, you could be roasting.

2 nights at House in a Tree VT
This is a gorgeous cabin, thoughtfully furnished and in a beautiful location. The hosts were kind and communicative. The only downside to my stay was that the pellet stove was placed on such a setting that it produced extended noise at regular intervals. This was no issue at all during the day but ruined our sleep the first night, despite our use of earplugs and a white noise machine. The second night, we decided to turn off the stove, which was fine because it wasn't too cold outside (around freezing). I would not recommend staying here if it's so cold that you need the stove at night, but I recommend staying here any other time.

We had an incredible sojourn at John’s Green Mountain Retreat. The provided accommodations were thoughtful and appropriate for our length of stay. The spot itself is private and perfectly positioned for a beautiful view of sunset. Would absolutely return.

We love love loved to spot. We spent Christmas here and got several inches of snow - with the wood-burning stove we were so cozy. And the views are to die for. 10/10 would recommend 👌🏼
