Weekend Trip to Streeter Mountain Farm

Well received and taking care of. Located in a quiet street, far from city vibe. Main house is the hub for bathroom, you can use the amazing community kitchen for a reasonable fee. This farm is an hidden gem if you want to disconnect from the life of the city and see was really is a homestead. Can ride MTB trails, from the site directly. We slept in the bluebus, with minimalist equipment and a wood stove. That was super relaxing, surrounded by the woods. Highly Recommended

We stayed at the family room and it was very comfortable with grade mattresses and even shades to block out the light, which we appreciated. The library had a fantastic collection and we love spending a rainy day there. Ann Was super helpful and very kind and patient and showing us around and even allowing us to help a little bit on the farm. The kids loved it. Stephanie a great and welcoming space for anyone who loves Community. There was a lot going on, although it was only end of April and still early in the season.

Loved camping here. The entire place is well maintained, with thoughtfully distanced campsites that are large enough for groups and have easy access to the local trail network. Nick and family were friendly hosts whose dogs provide a warm welcome. The moose through the campsite on night 1 was an added bonus!

Sweet Song Acres

Sweet Song Acres is 100+ acres of secluded forest nestled along the Little Sugar River, at the base of Perry Mountain. Located in rural Unity, NH and Charlestown, NH, just across the Vermont state line. Southernmost point, located in Charlestown is one of two campsites. The other is Shady Grove, located in Unity. The two sites, located in bordering towns share the same entrance and are connected by a 1/4 mile trail. Both are very large sites. Campers would drive to both sites down a trail so we highly recommend a vehicle with decent clearance and 4WD or AWD. Southernmost Point is a fully drive-in site. Shady Grove campers park above the site and the campsite is down a short path, just a few hundred feet or so. The property consists of varied terrain of rock ledges, lush moss, streams, and panoramic views at the summit. There are many options of local outdoor activities in the area or if you prefer, just sit and "listen to the river sing sweet songs to rock your soul".

Campers Welcome to The Wolf Swamp.

The property used to be part of the old Johanson farm, it was a 200 acre dairy farm a hundred years ago. The old stagecoach road which runs through the property from Canterbury Station to Northfield Station is now part of the main trails system. The early Pony Express riders dubbed the swamp on the land "Wolf Swamp", because there were many reports of riders seeing Wolves in the Swamp. The property is very open, although the sites are very spread out and secluded for ultimate privacy. There are several great hiking trails on the property, also used by local mountain bikers and Horseback Riding. Occasionally there will be an ATV or Dirt Bike passing through. We are located in the Heart of the local Trail system. There are several great places to swim and Kayak or Canoe literally around the corner. One of the tent sites has water and electricity and another has electricity with nearby water. There is bathhouse with two toilets and two vanities as well as a shower with changing room. Potable water is also available from a spigot at the bathhouse. There are over six acres of mowed fields for activities and walking. There is also a lovely brook running through the property with many areas you can cool off in from the summer heat. This property has a lengthy history going back to colonial times. It’s been a farm, an apple orchard, and once had a sawmill. Please check the calendar for available dates. Check-in is no later than 9pm unless late arrival arrangements have been made prior to booking. Whenever possible, try to arrive before dark because there are no lights at most sites, which can make setup difficult. A note regarding electric vehicles (EV): If you have an electric vehicle and would like to tent camp, please select one of our full hookup RV sites. If you have the proper electric adapter for your vehicle, you can charge your vehicle at the 30A RV plug while tenting in the field near the RV site. We do not supply these adapters, and we cannot allow you to charge your vehicle unless you have reserved an RV site with full hookups. If you do not see an open site for the days you'd like to get away, please contact us. Sometimes we can make other arrangements, allowing you to stay.

This is a great place for children, bikers, swimmers, hikers or anyone who just wants to get away from it all for a few days. There are many lovely hikes, one of which takes you to a pond you can swim in. You can also hike up in the woods behind the yurt. Newfane village is one of the most picturesque villages in Vermont, with a courthouse on the green. There are two restaurants in Newfane, two coffee shops, a flea market on Sundays, and a great antique store. We are close to Brattleboro, home to one of the best coops in the northeast, as well as many fun stores and an art museum. Please come visit us!

A rustic one-room cabin is also available with bunk beds, an outdoor picnic table, and a grill-topped fire ring. While here, hike through the Quechee Gorge, look for feathery friends on Dewey’s Pond Trail, or reel in trout from Ottauquechee River. Cardigan Mountain State Park, 40 minutes east, features more campsites for tents and RVs. Amenities at each site include a firepit, picnic table, grill, and access to an outhouse.
