Kimberly is awesome and helpful. The easment road is a nice walk. I have a 19 ft 2WD Van and campsites were tight but doable. The area is very peaceful and quiet.

Weekend Trip to D'Ranch at Clearwater

2nd stay! We had such a wonderful time! There are other campers on site, but this location still felt cozy and secluded. Our hosts were wonderful as always, we will come back.

I thoroughly enjoyed camping on Kimberly's land. You are completely removed from the sounds of the city and instead hear the crickets chirping at sunset and the birds song to wake you up. And the fireflies!! The fireflies twinkling throughout the surrounding woods was so magical. Kimberly was kind and communication throughout the trip was great. If total privacy from the outside world is what you want from your trip, this is a great site to do it.

Private and the dog is the best. The trail in is a little rough but was able to navigate in a civic just fine.

My group of 6 and I had a great time this weekend at the Selby Farm, the hosts were unbelievably welcoming and stopped by to say hello and introduce us to their animals. They helped guide us to the camp site and explained all of the amenities on the site. We lucked out on beautiful weather as well, the farm and big treehouse campsite were so picture perfect and we couldn't have asked for a better weekend trip. The couple Doug and Brenda were wonderful and the farm hand also stopped by to visit and he was incredibly kinda and made great conversation! We absolutely will be coming back and recommending this site to everyone we know. Plenty of other awesome things from the site; so much firewood, lots of critters, the dogs are so sweet and even stopped by to visit for some pets couple times, the horses were beautiful, the porta potty was incredibly well kept (might be the only ports potty I've ever used that didn't smell bad!!), overall it was a great stay.

We ended up with car trouble and had to divert into town, but hosts were SO sweet, even offering to let us hang out and stay an extra night. Would definitely stay here again!

Selby horse farm was an enchanting experience. It is the type of place you stay and it gives food to your soul. The landscape is beautiful, the horses are a dream, and Doug, Brenda and Johnny were warm and kind. We walked the trails, saw the old bridge, walked through wildflowers to get the the river, and met one of the neighbors out walking her goats. Time moves slower here just as it should. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer.

We have a fire pit, hammock and picnick tables for you to use if you like. We love meeting people and we also respect mutual privacy. We live off grid but have some power enough to charge your phone should you need it. We have WiFi but please bring your own drinking water. We have a small Berkey for drinking water here but its best you bring your own. We are in process of installing some outdoor showers and more tiny houses. We are a place in progress and we live here (so there may be projects in progress) and so does the wildlife and that includes ticks. Blacktop road all the way to the resort, just down the road from Red Oak Resort!! Doug and Brenda are retired from teaching at nearby public schools. Our Farm is now dedicated to boarding retired horses for their owners. We encourage you to visit our business website where you will see more farm pictures, videos, and where you will learn more about us. We practice rotational grazing for the health of the horses and the health of our pastures. The horses live in a herd as they would in the wild. Basically, they are hanging out with their friends! They also get regular care and feed and so are VERY happy. You will see and probably interact with the horses if you wish. They are guaranteed to come closer if you have treats like carrots and apples slices. Our quiet county road used to be the main road along the river. A hundred years ago it was called "Shanty Road". The shacks that were along it housed workers that harvested food from farms in the river bottom. The only evidence of those shacks now is perrenial flowers growing in unusual places. The area is inhabited by professionals working in nearby towns and cities. In fact there are only five homes along our 1.5 mile section of Copps Chapel Road. The native Americans who used this area did so because of the great diversity of wildlife and availability of water. Also the view is amazing in all directions. Was using this ridge top encampment for security, or just because the view is so satisfying? The Missouri River is on the far side of the bottoms now, but has been very close historically. There is also a large spring flowing from a cave nearby. Witness the flint chips when you walk through our barn lot. You are likely to see a broken stone tool that was once worked on by a native American. These river hills are composed of soils blown in from the end of the last ice age. Being near the river, erosion has cut down the surrounding area making the scenic topography associated with Missouri River valleys and river hills.

Almost all of our sites are pull through, located between two roads coming down a hillside. You pull into your level site from one road and pull out onto another. All the roads are one way traffic so as to not force campers to negotiate steep uphill roads. Located adjacent to a well supplied supermarket for all your camping needs. We have a large community fire pit and games courts for playing lawn games, all lit up at night. In our modern camphouse we have beautiful showers and a brand new laundry facility for your convenience open 7am till 10pm daily.
