Want to get away from it all? You found the right place. Situated a little over 4 miles off of Missouri Hwy 185 in the forest are 4 back-in Rv sites all with 50/30/20 Amp electric configured in a circle around a community camp fire. Nearby to State Parks and a bit of a drive to Mark Twain National Forest. This is a self service site. Bring your own water and an empty lavatory tank. Twin Eagle Lake Campground is located 14 miles away on Hwy 185 and provides a water faucet and dump station for longer stays at an additional expense. The property has a 4 foot chicken wire fence around it with barb wire on the top and a double gate at the entrance. All 4 sites can be rented together for group camping or special events if available. The gravel road can be rough and should keep your significant other away. Drive slowly in a 4x4 or Rear wheel drive vehicle and you should have no problems. The road leading to this property is not meant for front wheel drive vehicles. The gate has a combo lock on it. You will get the combo after booking your site. This piece of land just finished construction so it may be Summer of 2025 before I can get the grass to grow. The gate can be left open while a campsite is occupied if all campers agree, but please close the gate and lock it if all sites are empty when you check out. This is the wilderness, there are bugs, mosquitos, ticks, flys, bees, and things that bite and sting. Please prepare accordingly. By staying on my property, you are waiving any liability for me or any owner of the land.

Lake Perry Campground was established in July, 2024. We are located just outside the main gates of Lake Perry. Lake Perry is a private, gated, lake community that is only accessible by lot owners and their guests. Lake Perry Campground offers 17 full hookup sites consisting of public water, 70 amp electric, and public sewer. 9 sites are pull through lots that are 25' wide x 35' long, and 8 back-in lots ranging from 25-60' wide and 30-100' long. Two buddy lots (camper & tent) are available as well. We also have 1 tent lot with 20 amp electric and water. Completed in August 2025, is a 30' x 50' pavilion with restrooms (2 toilets) and (1) floor to ceiling tile shower in each restroom. A tankless hot water heater was installed for endless hot water. (Sleeps 4) We are 5 miles from Mark Twain national Forest, as well as multiple conservation areas with creek access. Several wineries are nearby through scenic backroads. Located at the confluence of the Meramec River and Labarque Creek, my place (Matt's Place) is a ridge above a bottomland bowl of sorts. The old iron truss bridge here is likely built in 1910 and it has a survey marker from 1932. The creek has a nice little swimming hole, and a beach that is sometimes sand, sometimes, gravel, and sometimes a mix of both with some silt or even mud after a storm. It's peaceful down there to explore in the creek, wade while looking outward to an opening into the Meramec River. It's also fun to stand just at the mouth of the creek in the Meramec River. It's an awesome view upstream or downstream of tree lined banks, rock bluffs, and every now and then, passing boats, canoes, paddle boards, or kayaks. The old iron truss bridge hovers above the meeting of two waters. The water is cool and clean. Some fifty species of fish have been recorded in this creek, the most in all of Jefferson County and St Louis County. The bottomland has two levels, the lower bottoms down by the creek and the upper bottoms about a hundred feet from the creek. The upper bottoms has a clearing like a meadow with mowed grass. My favorite things to do here include gazing up at a cottonwood tree that must be sixty feet tall. It's leaves in a breeze are like a thousand hands waving hello. The bottomland meadow offers just enough sky to see bats dance in the dusk air between the trees, then fireflies as it gets darker yet. Up top is where I live. Just five miles off HWY 44 and HWY 109, at Eureka, MO, (30 minutes west of downtown St Louis, 18 minutes from Six Flags) this place sits on a ridge with great views above the Meramec River.

Grand Army Farm is a family owned working farm. We raise beautiful angora goats for fiber and have chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys and meat goats. We serve local restaurants and participate in many local area farmers market. We pride ourselves in minimizing our carbon footprint, to the extent that we don't own any heavy piece of farm equipment, not even an ATV. The working portion of the game only accounts for 15 % of the land. What this means is that 85% of the wooded acres is available for you HipCampers to hike and explore. Of particular interest is the site of an old moonshine distillery hidden in the woods, a 20 min hike east of your campsite. Legends has it that the moonshine was illicitly produced during Prohibition and sold in the loft of our biggest barn where people would drink and dance the night away. When we got to the property, Michelle offered us the camp site with a covered shelter which was amazing since we ended up getting lots of rain. We were able to have our cookware & a tiny fire underneath the shelter & could stay out of the rain. It was my son’s first time camping & he loved how close the creek was - all he wanted to do was fish. He also loved the big open space at our site. It was perfect for playing baseball, frisbee & football. So, despite the storms & cold weather, we ended up having a really great weekend.

Weekend Trip to Spring Lake Ranch

Incredibly peaceful and beautiful property with gorgeous wildflowers. We love the sunset over the lake. The baby goats were definitely a plus and it’s dog friendly. We will definitely be returning.

Weekend Trip to Hawks Bluff Farm Campground

I loved my time at Hawks Bluff Campground. I chose to camp further away from the main home and enjoyed ample privacy, firewood, and endless incredible sights. Definitely prepare yourself for ticks. If you stay at the sunset view campsite head down the slope straight from parking and you'll find a magical rock to take in the full valley. Follow the main trail down to the creek and enjoy the wildlife, fauna, and peace. I didn't use the kitchen facility onsite, but did enjoy a private hot shower that completely revived me after my hike.

Weekend Trip to Sycamore Springs Campground

This place is Awesome! If you’re into camping 5 yards from the river then this is the place for you. We camped here on Easter weekend so we had the entire place to ourselves. Harless was a great host and went out of his way to make sure we were safe and comfortable. There was a 3.5” rain in the middle the night and he was right there the next morning to warn us about the river rising and made sure we were safe. We ended up hooking up and leaving for the day to have lunch and antiquing and returned after the river went down to finish out the weekend. He even offered to refund our $ for the inconvenience! That’s one thing we love about booking through Hipcamp; you meet some of the nicest people and the camps are usually superior than any State Park or Forestry campground. We will be returning to this one.

2 nights at Spring Lake Ranch

Spring Lake Ranch is beautiful! The horses and goats were such a nice treat. Spot 5 did not work for us due to not having a long enough electric cord but we were able to switch to a different spot. We will definitely be back.

The lake was gorgeous. We had a fun time exploring with our dog and the RV spot was super easy to set up in. We can’t wait to come back this summer to hit the water.
