2 nights at Superior Beach Camp

Me and my dogs had such a great time here. The spot is huge, you definitely don't need to worry about space. The beach is just a short little walk away. It felt totally private and secluded, I didn't see any other people during my 2 day stay. I would absolutely recommend and absolutely come back

Weekend Trip to Hidden Pines

The campsite was roomy and even came with a very thoughtful bug torch to help keep the bugs away (of which there unfortunately was many, given the time of year). Plenty of space around the firepit, a nice picnic table to set up on, and multiple good spots to put a tent up with room for a much larger tent. The only downside is that it does face directly south, so during the day it is full sun!

Wish there was a washing bin, or maybe there was and we just didn't find it. Dog loved it also. Make sure to pack bug spray.

This camp site was amazing! We loved the open grass area for camping and the short walk to the beach. The private beach was a huge selling point- and it didn’t disappoint. It was perfect for our dogs! The owners were super communicative and had great instructions.

Kevin was a wonderful host! The site was quiet and peaceful. I loved the pond and the seclusion. It was easy to find. I will definitely try to come back here next time I am in the area! There was a thunder and lightning storm overnight and I loved having that cozy experience in my tipi. Highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to Spirits of the Forest

We loved everything about this mini get away. The owners were super friendly and nice and kept everything clean. If you are looking for a Yurt adventure and relaxing; this is your place. The Yurt was kept up and in good shape; and the site was perfectly big for hanging out and extra space and there was groomed paths to walk on as well. It was very secluded and private. It was a great weekend to disconnect from technology and reconnect with my partner. Very Relaxing. Def bring your citronella candles and bug spray. There was some bugs but it was not to bad. We are looking to stay in the TP next time we come up here. This place we would highly recommend.

We had a very nice stay at Superior beach camp. There is nothing better than an (almost) private beach on Lake Superior. The path down to the lake including the ladder/steps worked out better than I expected. Very clean Port-a-Potty and very private site with space for our dogs to run. The fire pit, grill and picnic table were nicely set up for us when we arrived also. Matt was very nice, he even sent a message letting us know there was a possibility of Northern Lights from the north during our stay.

An amazing experience all around! Ann’s property is amazing with many trails to meander through. The cabin is beautiful with a lot of attention to detail. There is even a photo album with the Cabin’s history to look through. It is obvious the land and space are well cared for. We stopped for a night on our way to Madeline Island, Wisconsin and it was the perfect halfway point. Ann is very kind and attentive. Even providing extras for our dog. Her dog, Daisy, joined us for the evening and checked in the next morning. Daisy was the cherry on the Sunday! We appreciated being given some farm fresh eggs to cook while camping! We will definitely be back.

2 nights at Superior Beach Camp

This campsite was such a treasure! It was a wide open space with a separate area for a lookout and a quick walk to the beach. There were bears in the area, however we were able to park our car next to us which eased our minds. It was beautiful, private, and peaceful. There was even firewood already cut for us. The outhouse located on site was in pristine condition. We had a wonderful time.

A perfect little camp site up north. (2 adults, 2 golden retrievers.) Nice amenities and very scenic. Although we didn’t need anything, the little shop had lots of items for sale if you forgot something. Yard games were available for free to use. Alternate route trails to sites was a nice touch. Signage was very clear and parking area was nicely mowed.

Weekend Trip to The Hamlet Lake Homestead

We had a wonderful time over the Memorial Day weekend at Eric’s property! Everything was as advertised. Eric and his family were amazing hosts and helped make our weekend special in multiple ways from greeting us as we arrived and providing us with activities while we were there. He went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed. Our five kids loved the beach and lake activities, especially the kayaks and paddle boards, and playing with the animals. We also went biking on the nearby Cuyuna mountain bike trails and Crosby town trails, which were fantastic. We would love to come back again in the future.

Activities include swimming at local beaches, Nemadji State Forest, General CC Andrews State Forest, ATV riding, lots of great fishing lakes, several rivers for kayaking and canoeing, local restaurants, coffee houses, movie theater, general store, shopping, antiques/craft, grocery, gas, local brewery, agate center, fire museum. The land was purchased by the Sway family in the late 70's from a farmer and has been in the family since. We are one of the 4 current land owners of this property and plan to keep the land in the family as long as we can. Our home was built in 2011 on part of the property. Since living here we have used the land for hiking, gardening, wood harvesting, selling Christmas trees, and now we are excited for our new adventure of opening a small part of our land for camping. The Hamlet Lake Bunkhouse is located to the west of our home in its own secluded parcel next to the lake. The Camp on Hamlet Hill is to the north of our home, on a remote flat hill at the top of our property, on a hill over Cedar brook. with 300-acre, (private) Hamlet Lake in front, and the wide portion of the 20-mile Cedar brook in the back. We are a large "homesteading" family, with chickens, ducks, and a garden. The campsite is a private 1/2 acre clearing, surrounded by woods with a firepit, grill, cooking utensils, and an outhouse. (Tents are available for a small additional cost). There is an outdoor water pump below the hill. Guests can access the waterfront and beach in front, with the use of the swim raft, lily pad, fishing dock, canoe, kayak, and paddle boards included. At nearly 100 feet deep, Hamlet lake also boasts excellent fishing. Our home is located 6 miles from Crosby, with the world-class Cuyuna Lakes 50-mile mountain bike trail system. Crosby is a growing tourist town with many new and unique restaurants, outdoor adventures, and shopping opportunities. The paved bike trail begins 3.5 north of us. Yurt on the River

Our yurt sits on the edge of a wild woods on the banks of the Cloquet River overlooking a meadow that is an active forest restoration project currently in process. From your door, you can access a loop of trails that wind through the woods, to the river and back to the yurt. Get back to basics. There is no electricity or running water in the yurt. Camp lanterns and solar lights are provided as is refillable fresh water and a propane camp stove/oven with pots/pans/utensils. The yurt is heated solely by a wood stove and there is plenty of firewood a short distance away with a sled or wagon to use for hauling. A campfire pit is just outside the yurt with a hanging grill and grilling tools. A detached outhouse is a short walk from the yurt and is for your use alone when you're here. In the winter, a Luggable Loo is available to bring to the yurt to eliminate trips at night in the cold to the outhouse. The yurt contains a queen bed with linens and a single camp cot available on request. Dogs are welcome in the yurt! We charge a $25 pet fee per reservation. If you'd like to bring a dog or dogs (limit 2), please add the Pet Fee which is listed as an extra during the booking process. In the warm months, the river is great for swimming and fishing. (And Coming Soon: Kayaks, river tubes, and canoe availability pending the sorting of proper insurance.) In the winter, two pairs of snowshoes are included for quiet walks through the woods. *Note: Train sounds and some road noise can be heard from the yurt. The train has been described as "quite loud" by some guests and as sounding "off in the distance" and "pleasant" by others. The crossing is a half mile away. If you're sensitive to sounds, a light sleeper, or looking for complete and utter quiet, please take this into account. Ear plugs are also available in the yurt.
