Well off the beaten track, it's scenic, private and peaceful. Camping at Moon In The Pond Farm is a bit of heaven.
There are separate sites to choose. Around the farm, you have your own secluded spot to enjoy. (Though you may be in a field next to our Scottish Highland cattle!) Two are tent sites: the PondSide and the FieldEdge. There's one site for small/tiny RVs or Campervan. And finally there's the HiddenCabin--a bed a roof and convenience. Each has a firepit with a small grill to cook over the fire. (all firewood provided)
Our campsites are in quieter areas of the farm. One overlooks the pond, others are on the edges of different farm fields, one a cabin nearer the farmstead. All require a beautiful, bucolic trek of 150-350 yards from the roadside parking--ensuring the quiet, natural experience. During the day times, you may see or hear farm work. At night it's lusciously dark and serenely quiet. You'll hear owls hoot, frogs croak, crickets chirp, foxes yowl and coyotes howl! In June and July the fields and trees light up like Christmas with fireflies, and you'll see the stars.
During the week is the absolute best time--the local hot spots (or cooling down spots!) are much quieter, and all our campsites have reduced weekday rates. If you can, take advantage by adding a Thursday or Sunday night to a weekend stay.
We've got an awesome, easy hiking trail on adjacent Nature Conservancy land. It meanders through woodlands, around rock ledges, through wetlands (on a 600' of boardwalk) and ends at a beautiful stream and pond with a gigantic beaver dam.
Not far from here are numerous well-marked hiking trails (including the Appalachian Trail (with famous Bash Bish Falls) and several offshoots (Sage's Ravine, Race Brook Falls), Bartholomew's Cobble, Umpacheenee Falls, and others). Also in the neighborhood are opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, swimming, rock climbing, gavel-road and country-road biking, and pretty much any outdoor activity/adventure opportunity. Or... you can just chill and relax, sleep, or read the day away!
Love food? This is Farm-to-Table for real! Never so close--the table's AT the farm! Bring your cooking gear and get some of our wicked fresh organic food--veggies, chops, sausages, eggs, bacon, granola, yogurt, etc. Sear yourself up a real treat!
Very nearby, as the Berkshires is a cultural mecca, there are also numerous opportunities from many great restaurants to art, dance, music, spas, galleries, antique shops, museums, cafes and much more.
It's still amazingly quiet at the farm where the Milky Way is clearly visible.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
Our cozy cabins are designed mainly for sleeping use, so space is limited when it comes to indoor activities. Guests should expect to spend the majority of their time outside. There's no such thing as too much fresh air!
Foolhardy Hill is off-grid; The cabins are free of electricity, plumbing and gas connections meaning there is no air conditioning or heat. Solar and battery powered lighting systems are available at the cabins, however, guests should come prepared with back up light sources and their own portable charging stations. There is cell service at the property.
Foolhardy Hill is a self service base camp (think Airbnb outside). Management is only a quick text or phone call away and staff can be onsite within 30 minutes.

Often described as being the most relaxing, romantic, dreamy and unique farm you'll ever stay in!!! Bent apple farm is natures perfect scape, thanks to my husband and I efforts to create a sanctuary to share with others. From apple trees, beautiful pond and a rustic cabins. Our farm is at the edge of VT natural forest, with often gifts us the visit of wild deers, moose and turkeys.

Weekend Trip to Bent Apple Farm
Perfect snow get away. Wood burning stove and heater kept us warm, even with just one. Enjoyed listening and looking through the vinyls. Loved the hot tub after a long day of hiking and the comfy bed. The cabin was cute and felt very lived in. It was a nice surprise to see a journal of how many people stayed there, especially during Covid, very lovely notes people left!
Only down side - couldn’t stop sneezing at times, lots of dust in the crevices of the wood floor and fabric. Also wish there was a bit more privacy at the door and hot tub, could see the guest next door.
Overall definitely would recommend and stay again!

We enjoyed the horse run in! The run in was clean and had everything we needed. Very much enjoyed the wood burning stove, hot tub, and fire pit. We found the dvd player, books, and record player charming. The farm is beautiful and we enjoyed the town of Londonderry. While the listed rules were a bit overwhelming, Ben and Loana were very kind and hospitable and easy to deal with (it was only surprising bc the rules had set a bit of a different tone). I would highly recommend.

I love staying at Fernando's cabin with my dog. They had everything I needed and nothing I didn't. The hot tub in the sauna were a real bonus. Loana and Ben were not in the least bit intrusive, but we're quick to respond when I had a question. Their sweet lab Simon greeted us as we were leaving. Would definitely return.

My siblings and I are obsessed with this place! It was larger than we expected, the kitchen is spacious, and the property's amenities (hot tub, disc golf, sauna, pond, etc.) were total treats! We appreciate the rustic charm and thought put into the fisherman-themed design. The outdoor shower and bath are a bit public (but maybe you're into that!).

Accommodations and site were as described. Dominic is very friendly and helpful. It's a few miles off any main roads so it's very quiet and dark at night so the star gazing is excellent and so is the sleeping.
I would note that there is no shower available for use but he will let you use the hose! :)

We had a great time here! The host Katie communicated with us via text promptly and clearly, with just enough frequency to keep us feeling like true guests. The facilities are all top quality, well thought out, leaving us with no want of cooking options, water, a wonderful fire pit and firewood (although we decided not to build a fire and turned in early instead) and comfortable seating areas including plenty of Adirondack style chairs. Bathroom/showers were spotless. Other guests were friendly and considerate. If in the Charlemont area again, we'd feel fortunate to have another opportunity to stay at Foolhardy Hill.

Some of the cabins are closer together, but didn't feel it impacted our privacy, we definitely felt like the only two in the world while we were there. The walking trail isn't long but it's very pretty, as is the pond. It was just what we needed, highly recommended. We can't wait to come back and check out the other cabins!

Our stay at Dom's Moon in the Pond farm was ideal. The cabin was cozy and comfortable while the screens successfully kept the bugs out. The property is bucolic with adorable cows, lambs, chickens, etc. We pre ordered the spicy sausage with fennel along with other farm fresh foods - which were delicious. It was the perfect home after a long day of swimming and hiking. Would definitely come again!

Foolhardy is fabulous! The honors were very friendly and responsive. We usually camp at state parks but this time decided to rent a cabin. The cabin was very clean. And the mattresses were comfortable.
We are very lucky to have the entire place to ourselves. The kitchen area is top notch and fully equipped with everything from pots to dishes to cleaning supplies.

I loved my stay at Fernando's Cabin! I was worried about being too cold given the temperature outside but the cabin was so cozy, I had to actually to turn the heat down. The basics were all provided. I used my phone as a hotspot with no problems but there was also a hotspot in the cabin. The property is so beautiful and the hot tub was great. Looking forward to staying again !
