Don't miss our stunning sunsets at the "Red Door," our entrance. Historical towns within 10 miles any direction are reached over rolling countryside. Gettysburg is less than 20 miles. Baltimore is less than an hours ride by open highway. Blue Ridge mountains 18 miles. Taneytown, 1836, has an extraordinary antique store that is a delight to browse; as well as fine dining, drive through, an open air beer garden and close by grocery stores. Homemade ice cream is found at Baugher's and Hoffmans in Westminster. Baugher's Orchard has "pick your own" available. There is a mini farm animal petting zoo at the orchard. Additional things to see: Boating in Carroll County Maryland. Local wineries Ski Liberty Carroll is a full service county whatever your needs. Check out carrollcountytourism.org to learn more No lions, tigers, and Oh my! However, be aware that small critters may try to steal your food. No recent bear sightings. Geese visit occasionally. Coyotes are seen periodically. All hunting rights are reserved for long term clientele; therefore, hiking on the farm may be curtailed if they are present during hunting season. Gorgeous views, quiet, clean, and plenty of hiking opportunities made this a wonderful weekend away! Joe was beyond kind and accommodating, though we did not have the pleasure of meeting in-person (next time!) I loved having the private trail access and I could easily modify my hike any way I wanted, from private and quiet to public and challenging! Plenty of space for my tent and gear, lots of provided seating for around the fire, and a cute little shower space if needed. Directions were very easy! Joe shared that some changes are coming to the space, and I'm really looking forward to another visit!

Weekend Trip to Willows Farm

We stayed on site one. Had water and electric. It was on a hill where we could look out and see beauty in all directions. It was so quiet, without environmental noise, that it took us a little bit of time to adjust to not being overwhelmed from the outside world. Great place to lay back, take walks, and enjoy the land, the animals, along with the stars at night. Curtis was pleasant as a host. He stopped by but wasn’t too intrusive. Thanks!

Our stay at Bear Branch Creekside was seriously the best, start to finish! Benjamins communication was always prompt which made everything super easy. The whole site was clean and looked great. We had a blast exploring the fun well kept walking trails, and the creek was the perfect spot to just chill—plus, our son had a field day fishing! The fire pit was a major plus, especially since they had those thoughtful extra cooking grates available. We totally fell in love with the owners' dog, Hopper, too! We had such a good time in Hangtown and are already dying to go back. 10/10 recommend!

We had a lovely fall weekend glamping on Gini’s land. The site is beautiful and well maintained and the tent is very comfortable and filled with everything you could want even for cold weather camping. Gini’s hospitality was also exceptional (going out of their way to provide extra blankets and hot water bottles to one of our party who camped in a tent), and the land is perfect to walk through. Our dogs enjoyed the freedom safely. Will definitely be back!

We enjoyed camping at The Point, it was quiet and felt private, but an easy walk to the porta potty and water. I liked seeing the host’s cats, chickens and sheep. The host was kind and communicative. Very quick and easy drive (10 mins or less) into Gettysburg town & battlefields. I would recommend, and would stay here again.

Our experience with this farm was a bit different than most people’s stays, as we’re an organization that supported a family in need by placing our transitional housing camper here for 28 days. From the moment we arrived, Seth and Stephanie were incredibly warm and welcoming, giving the family the space and grace they needed to heal and transition during a difficult time. The farm was absolutely the perfect setting for this season of life. The open fields and natural views provided a peaceful, restorative environment that you simply can’t find in more traditional settings. There’s something deeply healing about being surrounded by nature and wide-open spaces. The kids were entertained watching the chickens, geese, turkeys, and sheep wandering about the property. These simple joys made such a meaningful difference during their stay and created sweet memories during a challenging transition. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone traveling through the area, but also to locals who want a new taste of their own community. This farm offered our family something truly special - a safe harbor and a chance to experience beauty and peace during a time they needed it most. Seth and Stephanie’s kindness and the tranquil setting made all the difference. Thank you for opening your property to families like ours!

Tent camping @ Hipville was excellent. The area was well maintained with many paths cutting across the property. The water level was a bit low for effective fishing, but we dropped some lines anyway. There was very limited prepared wood available when we arrived, and we needed to acquire more in the morning (not a difficult prospect).

Our Scout loved camping here. Plenty of nice area to setup tents. It is a peaceful area to camp and enjoy the stars at night. We loved being close to Gettysburg to go visit for the day.
