This is a residential 7 acre property in a quiet and safe neighborhood. We are right off the main road for easy access. It is very peaceful and calm here. We live in the 5 bedroom older farmhouse where you can use the bathroom if needed. You will receive a code for the electronic door lock. We have a new and developing veggie garden. There is a small stream and community fireplace by the 4 campsites and another fireplace closer to the garden. The designated campsites are at the rear of the property and are first come, first serve. A tent can be set up anywhere on the 7 acres and does not need to be in the designated campsite area. Car camping, van life, and RVs also welcome! There are some lightly wooded areas, apple trees, a pear tree, and an open field. We are pet friendly and there animals that live here that won't bother you. I am a Reiki Master and can potentially offer healing sessions if that is something you may be interested in. I also travel a lot as a DJ and audio tech and might not be here, but have a self check in process and video I will send. Also, roommates are generally here. Maine Savings Amphitheatre is 15 min away (concerts in Bangor). Acadia National Park is just over 1 hour away. Bangor and Bucksport are both about 15 min away. Fort Knox is about 20 min away. From the campsites, the road and house are not visible. We have flowers when in season, deer, turkey, birds, and friendly creatures that visit. *Please be aware, this is rustic camping in the yard. This is not a campground or upscale facility. Please be ready to be self sufficient and sustainable in any weather. Well water is available and passes all tests - pure and safe for drinking. RVs can park in the driveway and we can likely only host one at a time. For RVs, Electric hook up is 15amp and an extra $5/day. Water hook up is $2/day. We have hosted up to 20 people at once, and as few as 1. Sometimes we get campers who are going to a concert in Bangor, which is awesome. Any hours coming and going are fine! It was open to the public through to the 90s, but then sat alone for 15 years, waiting for someone to revive it and bring it back to the world. Then one day, Caleb and Wolf met on a bus, heading south from Down East Maine, where they instantly connected and joined forces. They worked together redressing a home in Stonington for visitors to experience and became brothers while doing so. Come relax on this private 5 acre waterfront escape. A long driveway will open up into a cleared lot. The end of the driveway is a large crushed gravel parking pad which should easily accommodate any RV or trailer (make sure you back in, there's no room to turn around). The pad is mostly flat, but minor leveling on RV's is probably still needed. Site overlooks Flanders Bay which feeds into Mount Desert Narrows. Watch the family of 5 eagles fly back and forth across the cove and bring binoculars to watch them as they perch in nearby trees. The cove is filled with a variety of seabirds and the occasional harbor seal. You will have complete quiet as you listen to the sounds of forest and coastal life.Property is located 11 miles from Schoodic Peninsula of Acadia National park and a quick 35 miles from Bar Harbor. From May through mid November, site includes access to a HOT outdoor shower, well water, a working sink with hot water. Water is turned off after November 15th until late spring, weather dependent. NEW THIS YEAR- we have installed a 50/30 AMP hookup for trailers/RV's - we do charge $15 extra per night for hookups, please coordinate with us at time of booking if you will need power for your camper - There is an electric outlet for small electronics like laptops/phones/coffee pot, site includes a campfire area, lots of open spaces to pitch a tent, and an outhouse. Our cute little A-frame sleeps 2 people comfortably. It comes with its own outdoor kitchen, grill and outdoor bathroom, with a hot shower and composting toilet. You will also enjoy your own private waterfront space with free kayak use, hammocks and firepit with complimentary fire wood. We are located about halfway between Bangor and Ellsworth. The Mini is a perfect spot for day trips to the coast. Just a 15 minute ride to Bangor where you will find many local breweries, restaurants, concert venue, theaters, shopping and night life. Our area has abundant small wildlife. We regularly see rabbits, geese, ducks, beaver, eagles, osprey and of course loons. Kayak over to our private island where there are blueberries, and a mating pair of eagles. Paddle over, have lunch, pick some blueberries for your morning cereal, go for a swim. You could also kayak through the thoroughfare to Holbrook Pond. The site is small, just 1 acre and we do live very close by. You will have privacy, but you may hear or see us or our dogs at points during your stay. We will provide a few jugs of water, but you may want to bring some of your own. Cookware, plates, cups, utensils, and cooler are available for use.

Daylily Farm & Waterfalls

Daylily Farm was once part of a large family farm with many acres of fields that have grown into Pine and hardwood forests during the past eighty years. The family was fond of flowers and their efforts have endured into the present. There are two acres of daylilies, Iris, peonies, daffodils, lilacs and concord grapevines. After the last of the White family passed the gardens were slowly being overrun by other opportunistic plants including many Pines. They were crowding out the flower but fortunately the flowers are quite hardy. Going on two years now the flower beds are being reclaimed and the property is being nurtured back into its cared for loveliness.Before the Great Depression the Monroe town center was located on either side of the falls. Rumor has it that during the depression and with electricity becoming available along the Maine Coast, the towns people took down their buildings leaving only the granite foundations and went to live and farm at the coast. This left very little of the town. Fortunately they dismantled the dam and restored the falls to their natural state. This is my second summer here. The first I watched to see what plants grow where and this year there is a lot of reclaiming of the gardens. There are grapevines that are at least 80 years old. New vegetable gardens are being planted. Hegekarten's are being built of the organic materials all around. The sounds of the waterfalls constantly fill the air which is soothing. Falling to sleep with the sounds of falling waters is quite delightful.

We do discriminate against mean, biting, untrained and misbehaving ones. You will pass by our henhouse where our chickens may be roaming at large. It is important for you to keep your dog on the leash until you hit the rock wall. We also have geese, they are of the nice geese persuasion, they will usually veer away from you upon being approached. We do not want any pets chasing our geese. They have goslings now so will be protective of their young. At the cabin, they are welcome to be off leash, but should respond to voice commands and not be left outside unattended. Also, Maine is very dog friendly. There are few places you can’t take your pet. If you’re not pet friendly, please let us know.

The end of the driveway is a large crushed gravel parking pad which should easily accommodate any RV or trailer (make sure you back in, there's no room to turn around). The pad is mostly flat, but minor leveling on RV's is probably still needed. Site overlooks Flanders Bay which feeds into Mount Desert Narrows. Watch the family of 5 eagles fly back and forth across the cove and bring binoculars to watch them as they perch in nearby trees. The cove is filled with a variety of seabirds and the occasional harbor seal. You will have complete quiet as you listen to the sounds of forest and coastal life.Property is located 11 miles from Schoodic Peninsula of Acadia National park and a quick 35 miles from Bar Harbor. From May through mid November, site includes access to a HOT outdoor shower, well water, a working sink with hot water. Water is turned off after November 15th until late spring, weather dependent. This is a residential 7 acre property in a quiet and safe neighborhood. We are right off the main road for easy access. It is very peaceful and calm here. We live in the 5 bedroom older farmhouse where you can use the bathroom if needed. You will receive a code for the electronic door lock. We have a new and developing veggie garden. There is a small stream and community fireplace by the 4 campsites and another fireplace closer to the garden. The designated campsites are at the rear of the property and are first come, first serve. A tent can be set up anywhere on the 7 acres and does not need to be in the designated campsite area. Car camping, van life, and RVs also welcome! There are some lightly wooded areas, apple trees, a pear tree, and an open field. We are pet friendly and there animals that live here that won't bother you. I am a Reiki Master and can potentially offer healing sessions if that is something you may be interested in. I also travel a lot as a DJ and audio tech and might not be here, but have a self check in process and video I will send. Also, roommates are generally here. Maine Savings Amphitheatre is 15 min away (concerts in Bangor). Acadia National Park is just over 1 hour away. Bangor and Bucksport are both about 15 min away. Fort Knox is about 20 min away. From the campsites, the road and house are not visible. We have flowers when in season, deer, turkey, birds, and friendly creatures that visit. *Please be aware, this is rustic camping in the yard. This is not a campground or upscale facility. Please be ready to be self sufficient and sustainable in any weather. Well water is available and passes all tests - pure and safe for drinking. RVs can park in the driveway and we can likely only host one at a time. For RVs, Electric hook up is 15amp and an extra $5/day. Water hook up is $2/day. We have hosted up to 20 people at once, and as few as 1. Sometimes we get campers who are going to a concert in Bangor, which is awesome. Any hours coming and going are fine! Glamp It Up With Gert in Brooklin!

“Gert” is a 1968 completely renovated camper set in a lovely field overlooking the Benjamin River in Brooklin. The field is above a boatyard that specializes in wooden boats. She is ideal for a single or couple, with a state of the art composting toilet, solar shower (there is no hot water in this old girl!), mini fridge, and gas 3 burner stove. She has a queen sized bed, a microwave, and all the kitchen pans and utensils you would need. There is a picnic table, grill, fire pit, and hammock and two kayaks you can launch from the site. This property is about an hour from Acadia National Park, Mount Desert Island and Bar Harbor, Asticou Gardens, and many beaches and sights. It makes a perfect base for your day trips and a peaceful retreat where fireflies and stars abound. There is plenty to do right here, though. Check out the “Things to Do in the Area” page of the Brooklin Inn! https://www.thebrooklininn.com/explore Mid May and June are great times to book - you will be here before the crowds and it’s warmer than it used to be usually. Plus the mosquitoes haven’t gotten the message yet and you can enjoy sitting outside in the evening. But the summer is amazing here on the coast, as always. Watch the boats come in and out of the river from the dock or your campsite. Join them in the kayaks! September and early October are also wonderful times to visit the coast of Maine! We offer a 15% discount from now until October 1st, so come on over. The crowds at Acadia have largely departed, the water is calm, the weather is great, and everything is still open. Summer is definitely not the only time to see Maine - many people actually prefer after Labor Day when it is quieter if you are out and about. Our cute little A-frame sleeps 2 people comfortably. It comes with its own outdoor kitchen, grill and outdoor bathroom, with a hot shower and composting toilet. You will also enjoy your own private waterfront space with free kayak use, hammocks and firepit with complimentary fire wood. We are located about halfway between Bangor and Ellsworth. The Mini is a perfect spot for day trips to the coast. Just a 15 minute ride to Bangor where you will find many local breweries, restaurants, concert venue, theaters, shopping and night life. Our area has abundant small wildlife. We regularly see rabbits, geese, ducks, beaver, eagles, osprey and of course loons. Kayak over to our private island where there are blueberries, and a mating pair of eagles. Paddle over, have lunch, pick some blueberries for your morning cereal, go for a swim. You could also kayak through the thoroughfare to Holbrook Pond. The site is small, just 1 acre and we do live very close by. You will have privacy, but you may hear or see us or our dogs at points during your stay. We will provide a few jugs of water, but you may want to bring some of your own. Cookware, plates, cups, utensils, and cooler are available for use.
