There's a strong chance on an average Maine clear summer evening, I have the campfire going and the solar lights around the yard are charged for their evening gentle show. All of the spaces I rent are bedrooms only. You walk a few steps/yards to my 5 bedroom home and access two showers and some kitchen use. I also have an outdoor shower and outdoor kitchen that is cute and for your use. It's fun to cook on the fire too! I prefer folks to limit cooking esp in hot weather but support healthier eating and may share some of my foraging tips. The rooms are equipped with plenty of linens and fan power. You will be cozy either way the temps go. There is a lovely porch on the log home where you can sit and enjoy the sunset and lots of wildlife activity. The back yard has tether ball and lots of seating as well as the good sized fire pit with ghosts of hundreds of fireside chats gone by. I look forward to ours! Next door there is a gravel road on a lightly traveled road for your walking or biking pleasure. I am happy to join you in a hilly roller coaster cycling experience and have a few bikes to offer up. I am a WWOOF host and have occasional "helpers" and you are welcome to explore my veggie and flower gardens. This host loves board games and crafts so is often ready to share either or both with guests. There are 150 acres around me that are wooded and pathed so your pup will love it too. This is a residential 7 acre property in a quiet and safe neighborhood. We are right off the main road for easy access about 15-20 minutes south of Bangor. It is very peaceful and calm here. We live in the 5 bedroom older farmhouse where you can use the bathroom if needed. You will receive a code for the electronic door lock. There is a small stream and community fireplace by the 4 campsites and another fireplace closer to the garden. The designated campsites are at the rear of the property and are first come, first serve. A tent can be set up anywhere on the 7 acres and does not need to be in the designated campsite area. We have easily acomodated 20+ canpers at once (6-8 groups), though typically you might be the only group here. Car camping, van life, and RVs are welcome! There are some lightly wooded areas, apple trees, a pear tree, and an open field. We are pet friendly and there animals that live here that won't bother you. I also travel a lot as a DJ and audio tech and might not be here, but have a self check in process and video I will send. Roommates are generally here. Maine Savings Amphitheatre is 15 min away (concerts in Bangor). Acadia National Park is just over 1 hour away. Bangor and Bucksport are both about 15 min away. Fort Knox is about 20 min away. From the campsites, the road and house are not visible. We have flowers when in season, deer, turkey, birds, and friendly creatures that visit. Please be ready to be self sufficient and sustainable in any weather. Well water is available at the RV posts and passes all tests - pure and safe for drinking. RV parking may need to be arranged with myself. For RVs, Electric hook up is 30amp and an extra $10/day. Water hook up is $5/fill. Chopped, split, and dried wood (pine) is available included in your Hipcamp fee! You can burn what you need for the day/night. Thank you. Sorry, but ATV access is not available. North Country Rivers is only 5 minutes away for your rafting experience or to visit Patrick's Pub. Wyman lake has a wonderful public swimming area and boat launch 15 minutes away in Pleasant Ridge and the Bingham Kennebec River boat launch is just a few minutes away. We purchased this land a few years ago when our neighbors decided to sell. It abuts our property They used it as a place for their family to gather and camp on during Maine wonderful summer season. It is a beautiful, quiet spot with a great view and a small pond. Hipcamp lets us share this spot and helps pay our property taxes.We are located in the western mountains of Maine in a summer community on Porter Lake. There is a beautiful view of New Vineyard mountain from our 3 acre field. We have 2 trailer sites with power and water (non potable) and an out house. The site has a small private pond surrounded by trees you can sit and relax near. You can (walk/bike/drive) the 1/4 mile down the dirt road to the public beach. The beach has a public dock, boat ramp, swim float, picnic tables and grills. Paddle out to the island and try the rope swing with one of our kayaks or canoes. Be sure to check out the bald eagles that live in the white pine tree just a little farther down the island. You will hear the loons during your stay and possibly see a mother with her babies on her back. There are also ducks and ducklings and geese with gosling paddling about the lake. The state stocks the lake with trout, splake, and salmon if you like to fish. There is plenty to do right here!

Great synchronicity led us to the wild 30 acres of marsh and woodland that is Turtle Marsh. In addition to making a home here, we dedicating the area as a sanctuary for the quiet enjoyment of nature, eco-spiritual practices and healing. We are now recognized by the World Wildlife Fund as a Certified Wildlife Habitat. We have trails on the property that are designed for contemplative walks, along with several benches where you can sit in quiet enjoyment, undisturbed by human intrusions. There are several trailheads for the Hills to Sea Trail within a mile of our property. The quintessential New England waterfront town of Belfast on Penobscot Bay, is less than 30 minutes away. One of our favorite spots for quiet hikes along the shore of the bay, is Sears Island. It is one of the largest undeveloped islands on the east coast, that is connected to the mainland by a causeway. The island is 50 minutes away and even on the busiest summer days, its's usually possible to find a quiet spot on the shore to sit and reflect. As we continue to deepen our relationship with this land, we are trying to follow the principles of Deep Ecology in all of our interactions. Our tentsites, while only a 5 minute walk from the road, have been sited to offer as much solitude as possible, with minimal disruption to the surroundings. For 2025 we are opening a new site. It is a little more secluded, 2-3 minutes further from the road in a very quiet wooded niche, at the edge of the marsh. It is also a little smaller tent (10' diameter) situated on a platform, and a little more "camping" than "glamping". We are pricing the stay there according. In spite of being nestled in the woods, no trees were cut to prepare these relatively accessible sites. We believe that they still offer a very tangible sense of wildness and solitude. We can give you a pass to visit the Beech Hill Pond Beach also only 1 mile away (I walk there all the time) which has clear water and a sandy bottom. Great spot to spend the day sunbathing and swimming. I can offer yoga, personal training, boxing and paddleboard lessons or SUP yoga for some onsite physical fitness fun upon request. Learn more about this land: 16 by 12 ft A-Frame on a platform overlooking our private cove on Graham Lake.  Walk through the forest trail to the Beech Hill Pond Stream and find a private little swim spot under a mini waterfall . The Wakefield Wildlife Sanctuary was generously bequeathed to the Kennebec Land Trust in November 2016 upon owner Kendra Wakefield Shaw’s passing. Its 108-acres feature historic cabins and 4000 feet of frontage on Cobbossee Stream in West Gardiner. The property’s coniferous and deciduous woods, vernal pools, and marshlands are important habitat for many species of birds, mammals, and plants. In 2018, the Maine Cabin Masters renovated two of the stream-side cabins, which now serve as rustic getaways for Hipcampers and the like. A small dock and canoes are available for use on the wide and deep flatwater stream! *NEW 2024 - A dock has been added to cabin 2, so each cabin now has it's own private dock. Sunflower Ranch is the name of our home and property. Not only is our cozy, modest house sunflower yellow but in August it is surrounded with sunflowers of all sizes. We share our property with a flock of sweet hens and ducks.....and a few bossy roosters. Eggs are available for purchase if needed. There is a little greenhouse with herbs, greens and strawberries. The field is also an apple orchard that mostly feeds the wildlife. The tent site is privately placed in our cove unseen from the house. We wanted to offer a site that we would enjoy as well and feels like it is in a world of its own. We spend all of our free time outside, camping and paddling the local rivers and lakes. Tommy and I can recommend many beautiful remote Maine adventures for you to experience that are located off the grid and away from all other humans. The sweet city of Ellsworth is only 7 miles away for all of your provisions and Otis General Store is 1 mile away.. they have everything to get you through plus beer, wine, ice and homemade pizza. We can give you a pass to visit the Beech Hill Pond Beach also only 1 mile away (I walk there all the time) which has clear water and a sandy bottom. Great spot to spend the day sunbathing and swimming. I can offer yoga, personal training, boxing and paddleboard lessons or SUP yoga for some onsite physical fitness fun upon request. Learn more about this land: 16 by 12 ft A-Frame on a platform overlooking our private cove on Graham Lake.  Walk through the forest trail to the Beech Hill Pond Stream and find a private little swim spot under a mini waterfall . When you arrive at the big posts and posted signs keep driving through because you are almost there. Originally settled in the early 1800's with a few house's, barn's and an old one room schoolhouse. A few foundations are still visible along with a couple old dug wells and dumps with old bottles. We now own 365 acres that was named Texas Four Corners (no one knows why) in the middle of 1,600 undeveloped acres with the closest inhabited house from our property is over a half mile away. 15 Mile Stream runs thru the property. 16 miles to Common Ground Fair in Unity. 15 miles to Waterville and 28 miles to Belfast.

When this area was originally settled, the farm was located on the "highway" from Camden to seasonal pastures in Lincolnville. The trails leading to the park still go by the old foundations that dotted the old Government Road from Camden. I had a great time staying at howling goat farm, I personally like the farm atmosphere and all the sounds that go with it! The camping spot was clean and level and has the standard fire ring and I believe an 8 foot long picnic table. I wouldn’t hesitate to return and stay a while in the future.

Weekend Trip to Trees of Life Retreat (ToLR)

My pup and I had a great time at ToLR. We had a hilarious greeting of turkeys and hens and then about 100 yards then to the right and we were there! The happy birds were a highlight each morning, the nuthatches were busy. The trails behind the woodshed were lovely and quiet. The cabin was so clean and so thoughtfully done. We didn’t want to leave and will for sure be back. Such a lovely and peaceful place.

Really unique and amazing stay, can't recommend this place enough! Learned about three medicinal mushrooms that grow on the property through the walks with Peter and Willie. Some neat evidence of beaver activity was spotted as well. You can hear barn owls in the evening. If you did get any rain or wind while there it's rather pleasant. Was nice to know if you do need anything the cabin and Peter were a short walk away. I even got Peters book which I can't wait to read!

While I didn't personally get to enjoy my overnight stay here due to unforeseen circumstances with my car, Ashley was responsive and also very helpful with my campsite. I was able to get in without any issues, as the instructions were very clear. When my car broke down on the way to a hike after I had set up my campsite, Ashley was willing tear everything down and store it off to the side for me. I am very grateful that there are still good people in the world, and just based on this experience with Ashley, I would highly recommend staying here!

Evan is a very gracious host for sharing his space. My stay here was perfect. I slept in my tent near the apple tree with the large green apples and the deer were right outside my tent all night and everytime an apple hit the ground they would grunt and prance in excitement and I could hear them crunching down on the apples all night. It was cool to experience.

Camping on Amber's land was exactly as described - quiet and absolutely stunning! The brook was still running in a few places during our stay giving a little background noise, and we had some turkeys swing in for a visit right before we headed out on our last day. Exploring the roads through the property was peaceful and well worth it. All of the little extras for starting a fire and camping comfortably were very much appreciated. I highly recommend this spot for anyone who wants to get away but still stay near town and connected!

4 nights at Graham Cracker Cabin and Campsites

Super helpful hosts and a nice Hipcamp. It is as advertised for the most part being a rustic cabin. We've stayed in many rustic cabins through Hipcamp. A few things to note: Even though there is a woodstove (we used every night to keep us warm) the cabin does not hold heat because the walls to the cabin have large gaps so we had to use 4 bundles of hardwood a night to keep it comfortable at night (temps in the 20° to mid 30°s) We were somewhat prepared because we knew it wasn't insulated but we were not expecting the amount of heat loss due to all the gaps in the cabin. There are other campsites on the property which are a good distance away (some within sight) We got a little freaked out by a group of campers walking up to the cabin at 10:30 at night and waking us up. (Definitely not the host's fault) but just be aware it's not the most secluded. Being in the cabin it was a little quieter but this spot is off a main road so there is a bit of noise from that but definitely not something that would completely deter me. The host was very helpful when we mentioned that we'd like to drive up to the cabin. They told us we were not able to do that (I'd just suggest taking that as an option off the listing because we chose this site in part because of that having 4wd) but they offered to help us bring our stuff with another wagon attached to the owners tractor which was very nice. The cabin is equipped with everything you would need for rustic camp: pots, pans, water, utensils.

Weekend Trip to Cabin of the Woods at Tilden Pond

Robert's cabin at Tilden Pond is a wonderfully secluded get away spot with a beautiful woods walk (15mins) to the pond. We were happy about being able to park next to the cabin for easy unloading of gear. We liked making meals over a camp stove we brought and at the fire pit to calls of loons and owls. We brought our own tent but opted to stay in the cabin on the cots provided, which were comfortable with our sleeping pads and bags. Our dog loved having the woods to romp in unleashed. The sunset at the pond was a highlight. On a future trip we hope to take advantage of the double kayak. We saw others kayaking, sailing, and fishing off in the distance. Robert has done a good job repairing the road recently but it is important to have a truck or vehicle with good clearance to drive in. We loved having both Belfast and Camden only minutes away.

I only stayed one night, but it was absolutely terrific. The spot is beautiful, peaceful, and really well cared for. You can tell Leketa and Hillary put a lot of thought into the small touches — it made all the difference. I’m so happy I got to experience it, even briefly, and I’ll definitely make the time to come back someday.
