Folks enjoyed camping on the mountain so much they often would choose our farm over traditional campgrounds. Hosting campers became a regular weekend event, and to accommodate more people we created three more sites spread out across the property. In 2020, we came across the Hipcamp app and started offering private reservations to the public. Our guests are welcome to kayak, canoe, swim, fish, and paddle board from the shores of The Queen’s Property, or one of 5 Right of Ways on Watkins Shores Road owned by our Association. Access to your private waterfront is a short stroll through our woods. As our guest staying at The Queen's Property, you will also have free access to the Watkins Shores Road Association's boat launch. The boat launch is just a two or three minute walk down the road from your site. Our new dock is available to dock your boat during the day.. However, there is a small fee to dock your boat overnight (see "Extras") at our site. Just make sure you check for Milfoil or any other invasive plants before launching. LOCAL ATTRACTIONS NEAR CAMP Within 5 minutes of camp, you will find all the essentials, including food items, ice, firewood, goodies, gas, and RV supplies. In fact, you can even order your groceries online for pickup, (free at Hannaford Brothers Grocery and Walmart) either on your way to your campsite or when you need to resupply your camp (we would be happy to give you the details). During your stay, you may also want to take a trip off-site to explore all that the Lakes Region offers. Explore the historic oceanfront City of Portland, or the local Towns of Windham, Naples, or Bridgton. Portland is a 35 minute drive from The Queen's Property. The coastline around Portland is rugged and attractive with world-famous lighthouses dotted along its shorelines. Numerous locally owned shops and nationally recognized restaurants can be found tucked into its many harbors and shorelines. Closer to camp, enjoy strolling through the Town of Naples. Naples sits smack-dab in the middle of the Sebago Lakes Region. Sebago Lake abuts its western border and Long Lake abuts its eastern border. A short 8-minute drive from your site, Naples spoils its visitors with boat rentals, waterfront shops, and awesome restaurants. Further north is the Town of Bridgton. Bridgton is a 20-minute drive from your campsite. It offers its visitors a quaint downtown filled with local retailers, pubs, and restaurants. Enjoy the beaches of Bridgton’s Crystal Lake which sits on the edge of its downtown borders. The towns of Raymond and Windham also offer our visitors numerous restaurants, grocery stores, hardware stores, and gas stations. NEARBY STATE PARKS AND OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES If your idea of exploring is centered around outdoor activities, then Sebago Lake State Park is a 1,342-acre park that abuts the shores of Sebago Lake. Within the park, you will enjoy protected forests, bike paths, and Sebago Lake beaches. Sebago Lake is a deep glacial lake, and by itself is 44 square miles of clear waters that abut Sebago Lake State Park. Coffee (from a local NH roaster), tea, hot chocolate and potable water (from the faucet) will be available daily. Megquier place as they used to call it. Built in 1775, Megquier farm was the first homestead in the town of New Gloucester. The house here is supposedly the oldest in New Gloucester. Situated on originally 60 now 30 acres of woodland, with trails of all sorts that weave through the property which is surrounded by mostly farmland and wooded terrain. The Megquier family who built the house had relations with local indigenous people trading cider from their orchard. They also were known to be rebellious towards English rule at the time and were involved in the local militia leading to the revolutionary war against English rule. Proof of which lies in some historic photos of family members dressed in militia uniform right in front of my house way back when. Furthermore, construction of the house itself violated the kings rule that no tree over two feet in diameter marked by the kings agents was to be harvested. However, the roof sheathing in the house are two feet wide at least. Interesting to review the history of mast landing in Freeport Maine, just a few miles away. More recent undocumented history of this property is just as interesting. I’m told that during the Vietnam war period, many people resided here in commune to resist the draft for that illegal war. They camped along what was once a pond here on a sunny hillside with towering Hemlock trees. Proof of which lies just under the ground such as old beer bottle and cans from that time as well as the rusted front end of an old International Harvester bus similar the one Ken Keasey and the merry pranksters drove around the US with. Pretty cool. I’m told that this place has a cool vibe to it, in the house and around the property. Hopefully I’m keeping that intact. After 7 years here I’ve created a network of trails for biking, skiing and exploring. I’ve carved out a nice high and dry hilltop camp with two 12’x12’ platforms and a composting outhouse. It’s situated on the most isolated area of the property. It’s quiet, private and gets great afternoon/evening light. Totally chill place to isolate. And mountain bike. There are approximately 7 kilometers of private bike trails to explore and more always being created. Very close to other local biking trial networks via some road sections or a quick shuttle to other trailheads. Also there’s a decent little sandy swimming hole a mile down the road. This camp is brand new this summer. I’m hoping to attract people who love mountain biking.Learn more about this land:Winter camping available. Private isolated campsite on 30 acres. Great bike trails. Wooded dry hilltop campsite with privacy and seclusion. I’ve constructed two 12’x12’ platforms at the top of the hill along with a custom built composting outhouse and huge stone fire pit. Bike down your choice of trails into my network right from the site. You’ll be able to bike directly from here all the way to Bradbury Mountain state park and back (about 3-4 hrs) or easily drive to multiple trail networks. Pineland Farms located 1 mile away. 15 minutes to Bradbury Mountain state park. 20 minutes to Freeport Maine and LL Bean. 30 minute drive to downtown Portland. 10 minute drive to the nearest store. You’ll be all by yourself out there but close enough to hear the road nearby. You may see people riding a bike down on the main trail but you’ll be all set on top of the camp hill. Our guests are welcome to kayak, canoe, swim, fish, and paddle board from the shores of The Queen’s Property, or one of 5 Right of Ways on Watkins Shores Road owned by our Association. Access to your private waterfront is a short stroll through our woods. As our guest staying at The Queen's Property, you will also have free access to the Watkins Shores Road Association's boat launch. The boat launch is just a two or three minute walk down the road from your site. Our new dock is available to dock your boat during the day.. LOCAL ATTRACTIONS NEAR CAMP Within 5 minutes of camp, you will find all the essentials, including food items, ice, firewood, goodies, gas, and RV supplies. In fact, you can even order your groceries online for pickup, (free at Hannaford Brothers Grocery and Walmart) either on your way to your campsite or when you need to resupply your camp (we would be happy to give you the details). During your stay, you may also want to take a trip off-site to explore all that the Lakes Region offers. Explore the historic oceanfront City of Portland, or the local Towns of Windham, Naples, or Bridgton. Portland is a 35 minute drive from The Queen's Property. The coastline around Portland is rugged and attractive with world-famous lighthouses dotted along its shorelines. Numerous locally owned shops and nationally recognized restaurants can be found tucked into its many harbors and shorelines. Closer to camp, enjoy strolling through the Town of Naples. Naples sits smack-dab in the middle of the Sebago Lakes Region. Sebago Lake abuts its western border and Long Lake abuts its eastern border. A short 8-minute drive from your site, Naples spoils its visitors with boat rentals, waterfront shops, and awesome restaurants. Further north is the Town of Bridgton. Sebago Lake is a deep glacial lake, and by itself is 44 square miles of clear waters that abut Sebago Lake State Park. Megquier place as they used to call it. Built in 1775, Megquier farm was the first homestead in the town of New Gloucester. The house here is supposedly the oldest in New Gloucester. Situated on originally 60 now 30 acres of woodland, with trails of all sorts that weave through the property which is surrounded by mostly farmland and wooded terrain. The Megquier family who built the house had relations with local indigenous people trading cider from their orchard. They also were known to be rebellious towards English rule at the time and were involved in the local militia leading to the revolutionary war against English rule. Proof of which lies in some historic photos of family members dressed in militia uniform right in front of my house way back when. Furthermore, construction of the house itself violated the kings rule that no tree over two feet in diameter marked by the kings agents was to be harvested. However, the roof sheathing in the house are two feet wide at least. Interesting to review the history of mast landing in Freeport Maine, just a few miles away. More recent undocumented history of this property is just as interesting. I’m told that during the Vietnam war period, many people resided here in commune to resist the draft for that illegal war. They camped along what was once a pond here on a sunny hillside with towering Hemlock trees. Proof of which lies just under the ground such as old beer bottle and cans from that time as well as the rusted front end of an old International Harvester bus similar the one Ken Keasey and the merry pranksters drove around the US with. Pretty cool. I’m told that this place has a cool vibe to it, in the house and around the property. Hopefully I’m keeping that intact. After 7 years here I’ve created a network of trails for biking, skiing and exploring. I’ve carved out a nice high and dry hilltop camp with two 12’x12’ platforms and a composting outhouse. It’s situated on the most isolated area of the property. It’s quiet, private and gets great afternoon/evening light. Totally chill place to isolate. And mountain bike. There are approximately 7 kilometers of private bike trails to explore and more always being created. Very close to other local biking trial networks via some road sections or a quick shuttle to other trailheads. Also there’s a decent little sandy swimming hole a mile down the road. This camp is brand new this summer. I’m hoping to attract people who love mountain biking.Learn more about this land:Winter camping available. Private isolated campsite on 30 acres. Great bike trails. Wooded dry hilltop campsite with privacy and seclusion. I’ve constructed two 12’x12’ platforms at the top of the hill along with a custom built composting outhouse and huge stone fire pit. Bike down your choice of trails into my network right from the site. Park your vehicle in the field near the trailhead and hike in to the camp or bring your four wheel drive vehicle right to the site. Utility cart available. I will provide all the wood you need for a campfire. As well as a water source located at the field. Approximately 7 kilometers of trail and counting. Bring your dog so long as it is behaved. You’ll be able to bike directly from here all the way to Bradbury Mountain state park and back (about 3-4 hrs) or easily drive to multiple trail networks. Pineland Farms located 1 mile away. 15 minutes to Bradbury Mountain state park. 20 minutes to Freeport Maine and LL Bean. 30 minute drive to downtown Portland. 10 minute drive to the nearest store. You’ll be all by yourself out there but close enough to hear the road nearby. You may see people riding a bike down on the main trail but you’ll be all set on top of the camp hill. Mark greeted us immediately when we arrived and was incredibly friendly and helpful. The cabin is clean and cozy. The composting outhouse was one of the nicest I've ever seen! Relaxing by the firepit on a chilly morning was wonderful. Could not have asked for a better stay.

Absolutely beautiful campsite along a little pond. We had some surprise visits from a couple horses, Emily and Sunny, from a neighboring farm which put a great big smile on our faces. Dwayne, the man, the myth, the legend himself brought us two very large bags of wood which we happily burned throughout the cold night. Still one of my favorite sites for its convenience and scenery. Although the highway is right next to you, after a little bit it turns into white noise and helped me sleep like a baby. Thanks again for a great stay on our final trip of the year. See you guys next year!

Best site I've ever stayed at! Good amount of space between sites but still an easy walk to the kitchen+water, outhouses were clean and convenient with an excellent sense of interior decoration! We stayed at Birch Grove on a particularly cold, rainy, and windy Halloween weekend and Nick already had a large tarp set up over the easiest tent spot.... plus a cow skull and a few candles for the ambiance. Incredible site with multiple pitches spread out around the land. We were lucky enough to be put on the beat site...on site 7 (despite booking the field site). What a view and great facilities. Fit pit with grill for cooking whilst watching the stars and white mountains. Camp cooking kitchen and shower near the main house. Fire wood for sale. Compost toilet at each site. The only problem was we wished we could have stayed longer! Look out for the friendly moose and check out the little boat on the pond. Fab site 10/10.

We booked here last minute for a night of tent camping. It was so peaceful, we stayed another night. The warm coffee in the AM was amazing! Cute little farm with animals all around. Sites are large and spread out. Portapotty was clean. Perfect distance to town.

Weekend Trip to Unplugged, No electricity, no wifi.
The cabin was adorable. I enjoyed my weekend “unplugged.” There are solar lights which work perfect when the sun goes down. The cabin contained everything needed for cooking. There were several options for additional lights if needed - including lanterns to take to the outhouse. I enjoyed a quiet and relaxing weekend!

Weekend Trip to Sacred Nectar Sanctuary
Nick is a terrific host and it's obvious that this hipcamp is a labor of love. Kudos to Nick for preserving this beautiful property for generations to enjoy especially in the face of constant development and expansion northward. It truly is a sanctuary. Wildlife is terrific and diverse. Lots of deer, birds, Moose and great privacy between sites. I'll return for sure!

Weekend Trip to Campers Welcome to The Wolf Swamp.
This farm/campground, perched high above the valley, offers a beautiful landscape, private and spacious sites that can accommodate many, and clean portapotties (picture signs, decorative lights, air fresheners, bug spray, hand sanitizer, etc). It is easy to see that much care and thought has gone into the entire campground’s set up. I don’t know if there’s a section about the hosts so I’ll mention it here. Elle and Duane(Dwayne?) offer the exact hospitality one looks for when welcomed to any property. There aren’t enough words to express how much we all enjoyed the weekend.

My Wife, Fur Baby, and I stayed at Eben’s land for a weekend and had an Amazing Time!!! Let me start of by saying the host Eben was wonderful!!! He met us upon arrival and was so kind and friendly and welcoming. He goes out of his way to show you how things at the site work and truly makes sure you understand how to operate everything. He had given us a map of the property and showed us everything his land had to offer and asked us what exactly what we were looking to do. Upon us answering what it was we were looking to do his made suggestions to accommodate our needs. He made suggestions around the area that were dog friendly so we would be able to accommodate our fur baby as well. Which was very thoughtful! After we were all set with everything he left us to ourselves and what a beautiful peaceful place it is. We chose the following morning to take a hike around the property and were pleasantly pleased with all the Beautiful Views his property had to offer. There’s nothing better than lying on a hammock and looking at Mountain View’s of the Fall Foliage. It truly looked like views you would see in a book or a movie. They were truly breathtaking. It was so nice to see our fur baby run free in the wilderness and soak up all the new scents. He was in heaven. This place is relaxing, peaceful, and just what we needed to disconnect from the daily hustle and bustle of Life. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place to others and we will most certainly be back without a doubt.

this was our second year camping at this mountain, and we absolutely loved it!! the views from our site was incredible, and eben does a great job taking care of the campsites and seeing if we need anything:) we stayed at pretty much the top of the mountain, and there are definitely some steep spots, just to be cautious of if you have kids! but i 100% recommend!! we stayed at site 3🍁🍂

Great experience, barbie is super friendly. There were other mtb riders from highland there. Land is beautiful. Didnt get a chance to check out farm but will next time. Eggs i cooked from their chickens were delicious
