Hidden Valley is a Community Forest, part of over 16,000 acres protected and stewarded by Midcoast Conservancy, a non-profit. A portion of the booking fees supports the organization’s mission to protect and restore vital lands and waters in midcoast Maine on a scale that matters.
NOTE: ALL of the cabins and campsites are walk-in only. There is no overnight camping allowed in the parking lot.

When this area was originally settled, the farm was located on the "highway" from Camden to seasonal pastures in Lincolnville. The trails leading to the park still go by the old foundations that dotted the old Government Road from Camden. The farm has 46 acres of flowing pasture, hardwood forest and flower and vegetable gardens. At the heart of the property is a large farm pond that has been used to water livestock for generations. FAQ: Our cabin is an off grid (very limited power, now way to charge or plug in AC devices) post and beam structure that we built 9 years ago. It has a full kitchen, wood stove, and screened porch. There is a large (150 gallon) tank of water for doing dishes and camp showers but we do not suggest drinking it. There is a generous supply of lanterns (both battery and inflatable solar) flashlights and string lights for lighting. We have wired lights that run off DC power when there is enough solar and we provide some battery packs for charging phones. We highly suggest bring some way to charge any of your personal electronics. There is no reliable way to do that in the cabin.
This is a small two story timber frame cabin off grid and secluded deep in the woods. It has a separate outhouse as well as shower stall to use the solar shower bags in. The cabin has a king sized bed in the loft with a child size fold down bunk above it; there is also a pull out couch on the first floor. As well as a kitchen, screened in porch and fire pit. Linen, dishes and utensils are not included please bring all that you need. There is a propane 4 burner stove with oven and solar shower bags. Trash and campfire wood is included. We are very busy with kids and work, we try our best to clean and re-supply between guests but it is not always possible, please let us know if something needs attention!

Good access road for your RV. The amazing views include Owl's Head lighthouse and Matinicus island in the very far distance, sunrise over Ragged Mountain and the Camden hills. To the north the Dixmont, and Bangor areas are visible. Watch the sunset to the west over Sennebec pond and Appleton ridge. To the southwest Mt. Washington may be just visible on a clear day. 75 acres of open fields and woodlands to explore at your leisure.
Among the hidden gems you might find are the original homestead foundation, a vernal brook, a distant field that is totally secluded and an oak tree with a heart! Deer, wild Turkeys, Hawks, Owls and Bald Eagles are frequent visitors. You may even stumble upon wild raspberries and blackberries, if they're in season.
The small town of Union also hosts the Maine Wild Blueberry Festival. The Lobster Festival is nearby in Rockland every August.
No other campers are visible from your site - so you get breathtaking beauty all for yourself - and those with you!
Note: Part of the land is a working Wild Blueberry farm and as such, on rare occasions, the quiet is interrupted to care for the crop. Should that take place we will credit you with a free day's stay.

Welcome to Lulu's. Where you can get a little crazy under the moon or you can take in the peace and serenity of the stillness in the woods. Depends on what you are looking for! No neighbors to infringe on your ideal get away. The large cabin has a welcoming front porch to enjoy the amazing sunrises over Streaked Mtn. 100 acres of privacy to hike, watch wildlife and just relax. Cabin has outside facilities. Off the grid-no electric or running water. Cell service is adequate. 1 gallon of fresh well water provided for drinking and 10 gallons for washing/cooking.
Bring your own linens for a queen size bed, twin bunk beds and a full pull out couch. 2 pillows are supplied with a pillow protective cover and pillow case which are washed after each guest. Pots, pans and utensils, are onsite which are washed between campers; trash bags, compost bags, paper towels, dish soap, dish towels and a 2 burner propane stove(green canisters needed) and an older propane table top grill are provided. Camp fire grill on site if you prefer cooking over open flame. There are some battery operated light switches and solar lights in the camp and outhouse. Downtown Norway has quaint shops to browse! Norway Lake has a public beach and boat dock. Many hiking trails nearby-Noyes Mtn, Patch Mnt, Singpole and Streaked Mtn to name a few. ATV trails (also can be used for off-road biking)onsite connect with other towns for many miles and hours of riding. Plenty of lakes/rivers for kayaking. Casino, race track and breweries for night life. Oxford Hills has much to offer.

Our shared love for Celtic folk culture has blended naturally with our love of sustainable agriculture to create Tir na nOg Farm. Today, the work of restoration continues with the help of farm partners, family, friends, WWOOFers, and other volunteers. The Cadillac Mountain View Loft is a comfortable bedroom with a beautiful view and plenty of shelter. Rough and Raw allows for clothing optional tent/hammock stays. Camping With Wolves sites are versatile and used by tents/hammocks/rooftents/rvs/buses or whatever you use. With each listing be sure to READ all the information and the rules. If you are interested in a spontaneous camping adventure, if your luggage got lost or if you just don’t want to deal with transporting camping gear we have a variety of rental equipment. Campsite is held in a small, level clearing of gravel and grass. Surrounded on all sides by tall pines and an assortment of plant and animal life. For the bird watcher there are a multitude of birds in the area making themselves heard day and night. And for the naturalist plenty of indigenous flora to find and study. The site is also miles away from light pollution, so bring your telescope and scour the dark night sky. The White Mtn National Forest is about an hours drive with hundreds of trails. Plenty of lakes to choose from as well. Long trail is just .4mi down the street. They have a hiking as well as a biking trail. Come gather friends and family or lone adventurer around the fire, enjoy a robust meal and recant the days adventure. Firewood sold on site(wood and kindling, $5 a bundle. Cash or venmo). There are no trash bins as this is a carry in carry out site and please do not burn up trash in the fire. There is a drywell and pit for releiving oneself. Nothing fancy but it works.

A quiet secluded camping area on a 40+ acre property across from Patten Bay in Surry, ME. Acadia and Bar Harbor within 30 minute drive, downtown Ellsworth 10 minute drive and Bangor 40 minutes.
We are currently working on our land and the road out to the camp site is rough with stumps, ruts, and roots. A vehicle with higher ground clearance and AWD/ 4wd is recommended. Convenience store and deli located right next door for basic needs and a local icecream shop, Pugnuts, within walking distance as well.
Dry camping only at this time. May change in the future or for longer stays, but we’re new hosts and want to keep this simple right now :) there is a picnic table, an 8x8 platform for tent, fire ring, an outdoor game or two, and solar lights. We will be able to take a bag of trash after your stay just let me know ahead of time.
Please follow the 7 leave no trace principles. This is home to our family and we take pride in our property.

Scout for wildlife and birds, on our private 400 acres of forests and fields. Tire yourself by hiking, mountain biking, snowshoeing, or cross country skiing the 10 miles of private trails. Located across the river from Riverlands State Park, just minutes from Lewiston-Auburn, Bates College, local breweries and just 2 1/2 hours from Boston. Wildlife abounds both on the property and across the river at Androscoggin Riverlands State Park.Quite often, a gentle breeze off the water will offer relief from black flies and mosquitoes, but the right bug repellent is recommended especially to fend off those pesky ticks that are so common in Maine.

We loved our stay at 40 acre woods! Such a beautiful, spacious, and well kept property within a reasonable drive of Acadia! There is a well built fire ring, for campfires. We loved the solar string-lights for extra vibes at night! This site easily fit three tents despite there being one platform - theres plenty space to set up in! One thing to note is we did hear coyotes both nights during our stay. Nothing bad we only heard them. Wildlife is an expected part of nature, but definitely something to keep in mind if bringing small pets or children. Thank you for letting us stay!

It's like staying over at your cool grandpa's property on the river. This is not a campground, it's even better. Just 3 tent sites directly on the river, quiet peaceful and beautiful. Lots of private trails to stroll and explore directly from camp.
Site one has a bit more shade than the others, for tent campers there is one or two mostly flat spots to pitch a tent. The rest is on bit of a slope.
Easy access to the water just down a small hill, great for a dip or paddling.
Clean portapotty at the site with a metal trash can was very convenient.
John was super nice and friendly, came down to chat a bit after we arrived and before we left.
Overall it feels like you are way up in the wilderness while still being close to civilization. Only negative was some highway noise in the evening and occasional gunshots in the distance. 4.5/5 for this spot! Would stay again.

For over 50 years, John and his partner, Pat, have been giving back to the trees and soil of their 700+ acre forest—an act of love and kindness toward nature. Having met many people around our Earth who support and protect our planet, John and Pat are equal in their giving to those such as Jane Goodall, David Attenborough, and others…offering unending support to the ground beneath our feet and animals.
This awesome gift they have given—to protect this land from development—is epic. You feel the energy, the love, as soon as you enter this cathedral of nature.
Staying at Slippery Rock, and at such a reasonable cost, supports the giving John and Pat continue to do for this most magical skin of our Earth along the Androscoggin River.
I plan to return often to Slippery Rock, spending time with my daughter, who is attending Bates College (located just 16 miles away in Lewiston, about 18–20 minutes from Auburn), and to continue supporting John and Pat in this ashram of majestic trees…true givers to our planet.

What I would like to write here is how horrible the place was, but I can’t because that would be the biggest lie! Slippery rock was amazing! You will find peace and quiet. Canadian geese out on the river. Trails to pass through. And very welcoming hosts !!! I pulled in late at night, exhausted- after a quick dinner climbed into our little bed on wheels and fell asleep. Woke the next morning and all I could say was WOW! The fall foliage was amazing. The field had tall grasses in it that the dog just enjoyed to no end and the sun off the river.. spent that morning in the next day exploring John and his family are amazing!! I cannot wait to go back!!

The campsite was private and on the river bank. It had a private trash bend and toilet that was clean.
John met me at the gate and was accommodating by showing me to the campsite. I didn’t get to hear his story about the property but I hope he and his family are able to continue with the preservation of it.
I did get to hear loons call which brought a sense of nature and what the family is trying to preserve.
It was a wonderful experience and I would love to come back.

Group trip
Our group of 4 had a wonderful time staying at this cabin! We kept warm at night with the wood stove and being right on the lake made our autumn stay picturesque.
