Part of an early 19th century farming community which faded into history well over a hundred years ago. Since then, it has been used exclusively for hunting, trapping and timber harvest. Other then a few scattered seasonal hunting camps, this is a privately owned uninhabited / undeveloped tract of land on the Eastern banks of the Seabasticook River watershed.

Primitive Tent Camping within a mixed wood forest. Located ten miles East of Waterville, Maine or Six miles West of Unity, Maine. The Sebasticook Millennium Green is a terraced 207 acre forest with over 18 miles of trails. Vehicle access is via a seasonal town road with parking a short walk from campsites. There are four unimproved sites with picnic tables and fire rings that will only accommodate one tent. These sites are accessible with a regular vehicle and located a short distance from the marginally maintained (dirt) town road. We try to provide firewood for the sites when possible and campers are welcome to gather downed wood to use. There is a fifth site (ridge) that is a mile hike through the woods or accessible via 4wd vehicle, this site has room for four tents, has a large firepit, three picnic tables and an outhouse.

Great synchronicity led us to the wild 30 acres of marsh and woodland that is Turtle Marsh. In addition to making a home here, we dedicating the area as a sanctuary for the quiet enjoyment of nature, eco-spiritual practices and healing.
Guests may elect to experience a daily hour-long "Ecospiritual Immersion" walk as part of their stay. These will be led by Ecospiritual Guide and "Wild Mind, Wild Heart" author, Peter Wohl. He has led ecospiritual workshops and retreats for over 20 years. There is a network of trails on our property for enjoying quiet, contemplative walks.
In the evenings, weather permitting, there will also be an opportunity for an informal campfire discussion with Peter. There is an additional fee for the walks and campfires.
There are several trailheads for the Hills to Sea Trail within a mile of our property. The quintessential New England waterfront town of Belfast on Penobscot Bay, is less than 30 minutes away. One of our favorite spots for quiet hikes along the shore of the bay, is Sears Island. It is one of the largest undeveloped islands on the east coast, that is connected to the mainland by a causeway. The island is 50 minutes away and even on the busiest summer days, its's usually possible to find a quiet spot on the shore to sit and reflect.
As we continue to deepen our relationship with this land, we are trying to follow the principles of Deep Ecology in all of our interactions. Our tentsite, while only a 5 minute walk from the road, has been sited to offer as much solitude as possible, with minimal disruption to the surroundings.
In spite of being nestled in the woods, no trees were cut to prepare this relatively accessible site. We believe that it still offers a very tangible sense of wildness and solitude.
Turn your time away into a transformative and healing experience, as you connect more deeply to the natural world. We hope that you will enjoy the experience of Turtle Marsh as much as we do.

We have a campsite near Lake George in Skowhegan and we added a few sites to share with friends and family. We are going to rent out few places to unplug and enjoy the outdoors. This is a tent but we have included some of the comforts of home. There is power to charge your phone, AC to keep you cool, a refrigerator to keep your drinks cold, lights and a coffee maker.
There’s a bathhouse to shower and clean up. We are working on getting the septic system installed and have a portable toilet to use until it’s completed. From the campsite you can take a 10 minute walk down to the lake or you can spend the day hiking. You can drive down to the boat landing and put your kayak in the water or continue up the road to enjoy a nice sandy beach.

This is a small two story timber frame cabin off grid and secluded deep in the woods. It has limited water/power with a separate outhouse. The cabin has a king sized bed in the loft with a child size fold down bunk above it; there is also a pull out couch on the first floor. As well as a kitchen, screened in porch and fire pit. Linen, dishes and utensils are not included please bring all that you need. There is a propane 4 burner stove with oven and solar shower bags. Trash and campfire wood is included. We are very busy with kids and work, we try our best to clean and re-supply between guests but it is not always possible, please let us know if something needs attention!

We have a beautiful, thickly forested 16 acres 30 minutes from coastal Belfast near the Common Ground fairgrounds and Unity Pond / Lake Winnecook in Unity. We live in Wabanaki Alliance territory, on unceded Passamaquoddy land. A right-of-way going through the property offers great viewing, walking, biking, ATVing, horseback riding, birding, xc skiing, or snowmobiling. Bushwack to a swimming hole to escape the bugs and heat. Or, give us tips on our disc golf half-course (lots of putting). You will select from a variety of primitive campsites (all more than 150 feet from parking!) offering private commune with nature, and the nearby town of Unity can satisfy your need for near music, drinks, or socializing. We recommend you bring your own water, as our well is of questionable quality and far to haul. Please do not bring outside wood. We have rentable bikes and kayaks so long as you have a way to carry them... Our wonderful nephew is staying with us this summer in a yurt nearby the campsites and will be able to help with any of your needs.
