Graham Lake is just a stone's throw away. Great for kayaking, fishing, and swimming. This magical place is just beyond our farm where we you can buy fresh chicken and duck eggs daily at the house.
In the cabin, upstairs, a lofted queen bed accessed by a sturdy wooden ladder. Downstairs, a wood stove with dining area, and living space with full sized convertible bed. No electricity, no plumbing, no wifi. Good cell service. Composting toilet and water tank for use inside cabin. Gas grill and firepit with tripod grate outside for cooking options. The back bedroom has a new, super-comfy queen bed, two drawers, and plenty of hooks. The bed has a mattress cover and clean, fitted sheet. BRING YOUR OWN SLEEPING BAGS AND PILLOWS.
PATIO & OUTDOOR KITCHEN - Adjacent to the cabin is a lovely cedar patio with a fully-stocked outdoor kitchen, patio table and chairs with an umbrella for shade, and outdoor games (corn hole and bocce).

Stuart Little’s dream house is an off-grid cabin on the edge of the woods, in the backyard of our home. The cabin is perfect for people who are camping, but want a little more accommodation. It has two futons that can turn into double beds, table and chairs, small porch, outhouse, and a picnic bench. Bring your sleeping bag and camp stove, and you are all set! There are also places to pitch a tent, if desired.
We are just a mile down the road from where EB White lived, the setting of Stuart Little's dream house (our yard) gives a glimpse into some real Maine living: Boats and boat trailers, a rambling garden, and often a free pile at the end of the driveway.

You'll arrive at our barn and home, probably greeted by a variety of animals.
Walking past the house and through the field towards the tree line, you'll arrive at our tiny cabin situated on a hill with the salt marsh below.
The cabin is furnished with a full sized bed, a wooden bench, beehive working woodstove, and shelving. There are candle lanterns provided, however we suggest also bringing a few flashlights.
Depending on the season we have farm vegetables and eggs available, kayaks available upon request to use to explore the salt marsh and harbors right out in front of the cabin.
A short drive and you can find numerous hiking areas and beaches or take the longer 1 hour and 15 min ride to Bar Harbor.
The cabin is not visible to the main house, though sound may travel. You'll have a beautiful view of the water facing west for sunsets. We access the water and trails around the fields foraging for berries with our kiddos and dogs, along with rotating the grazing animals though we will provide ample space to respect your privacy.
A small gas grill and cooler can be provided.
Cabin has no electric or running water. Water can be accessed from the main house and/or barn pumps depending on season, however will need to be brought down to cabin. Outhouse is located nearby.

We are pet friendly. However, we do not accept all pets. As you sent a request to bring your friendly, well-trained, well-behaved pet, we have accepted that being the case.
We do not discriminate against large dogs. We have large dogs. Your dog will be expected to meet me and my dogs and interact appropriately. If your dog cannot do that, it is not welcome. We do discriminate against mean, biting, untrained and misbehaving ones.
You will pass by our henhouse where our chickens may be roaming at large. It is important for you to keep your dog on the leash until you hit the rock wall. We also have geese, they are of the nice geese persuasion, they will usually veer away from you upon being approached. We do not want any pets chasing our geese. They have goslings now so will be protective of their young.
At the cabin, they are welcome to be off leash, but should respond to voice commands and not be left outside unattended.
Also, Maine is very dog friendly. There are few places you can’t take your pet.

With nearly half a mile of river frontage, a stream, and over a mile of hand-cut walking trails, Arbor Camp’s thirty acres provide ample space to unwind without leaving the grounds. Two cabins and a treehouse sit in an open field with wide views of the river and its passing wildlife. The remaining treehouses are thoughtfully spaced across 25 acres of quiet forest, offering privacy and a sense of deep immersion in the trees. Many enjoy filtered river views through the canopy.
Each season brings its own pleasures: temperate summer days and cool, starlit evenings; fall foliage and crisp air; the stillness of snow-covered woods in winter; and, in spring, a quiet reawakening as color and life return to the forest.
Arbor Camp began in 2022, when three friends came together to build a quiet place in the woods. Thirty acres along the Union River in Ellsworth offered the space—and the inspiration—for something lasting. The project was shaped by Maine’s camp tradition: simple, seasonal dwellings that invite stillness, comfort, and connection to the land.
We followed the path of an old roadbed to guide our layout, preserving as many trees as possible. Cabins and treehouses are spaced for privacy and quiet, and walking trails were cut by hand to follow the natural shape of the land.
Wildlife is part of daily life here. Songbirds call from the canopy. Heron and eagles pass overhead. Deer move through the understory, and turkeys wander the clearings. Mushrooms—chanterelles, black trumpets, and others—rise through the forest floor in season.
From the start, the idea was simple: to create a place that feels good to step into. Each of us brought different experiences—design, building, creative work—but shared a clear vision: spaces that are well made, deeply comfortable, and in tune with their surroundings.

Trailside Camp is 20X20 off grid Cabin located on West Brook Meadow in Franklin Maine. It has direct access at mile 7.5 of the Downeast Sunrise Trail. Exceptional meadow sunset views for watching Deer, Bear, Birds, Beavers and many other critters that roam the area. There is no electricity, and limited running water. It is equipped with propane stove and fridge. There is a porta potti on site
This is a one room cabin with covered porch. There is no electricity and a porti potty is used for a bathroom. It is serviced on a weekly basis. There is limited hot and cold non potable water to be used for doing dishes, and hygiene purposes. Water is supplied via a handpump and a 12volt solar power system from a dug well just in front of the cabin. The cabin is very comfortable with two people, but capable of sleeping 3 especially if one is a child. There is access to a natural boiling spring locate about 3/4 mile away from the cabin (directions included in the "Arrival" paperwork. There is also an outside shower with limited hot and cold water.
The Cabin is located at mile 7.5 of the Downeast Sunrise Trail which is a 83 mile multi-use corridor trail from Ellsworth to Pembroke Maine. We are ATV, and Bicycle friendly. Pets are allowed but their hair and messes must be taken care of. It is only 12 miles to Ellsworth and 30 miles to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, but still feels like the middle of nowhere.
We do not include towels, shampoo and personal grooming items, or pillows/linens for the beds. There are mattress covers on the bed with a comforter. This is an off Grid Experience.
The kitchen is adequately equipped for cooking and refrigeration w a propane refrigerator and stove. Gas lights are used for lighting at night.
Keep in mind this is a remote cabin but so close to Acadia National Park and other amenities. There may be a mouse that sneaks in. You'll arrive at our barn and home, probably greeted by a variety of animals.
Walking past the house and through the field towards the tree line, you'll arrive at our tiny cabin situated on a hill with the salt marsh below.
The cabin is furnished with a full sized bed, a wooden bench, beehive working woodstove, and shelving. There are candle lanterns provided, however we suggest also bringing a few flashlights.
Depending on the season we have farm vegetables and eggs available, kayaks available upon request to use to explore the salt marsh and harbors right out in front of the cabin.

We are pet friendly. However, we do not accept all pets. As you sent a request to bring your friendly, well-trained, well-behaved pet, we have accepted that being the case.
We do not discriminate against large dogs. We have large dogs. Your dog will be expected to meet me and my dogs and interact appropriately. If your dog cannot do that, it is not welcome. We do discriminate against mean, biting, untrained and misbehaving ones.
You will pass by our henhouse where our chickens may be roaming at large. It is important for you to keep your dog on the leash until you hit the rock wall. We also have geese, they are of the nice geese persuasion, they will usually veer away from you upon being approached. We do not want any pets chasing our geese. They have goslings now so will be protective of their young.
At the cabin, they are welcome to be off leash, but should respond to voice commands and not be left outside unattended.
Also, Maine is very dog friendly. There are few places you can’t take your pet.

Arbor Camp is a collection of thoughtfully designed cabins and treehouses set on 30 private acres in the Maine woods offering a secluded forest retreat on the Union River—private and peaceful, yet just minutes from the shops, restaurants, and year-round charm of downtown Ellsworth. Located 30 minutes north of Acadia National Park, it’s an ideal base for exploring the mountains, woods, lakes, and rugged shoreline that define Downeast Maine.
With nearly half a mile of river frontage, a stream, and over a mile of hand-cut walking trails, Arbor Camp’s thirty acres provide ample space to unwind without leaving the grounds. Two cabins and a treehouse sit in an open field with wide views of the river and its passing wildlife. The remaining treehouses are thoughtfully spaced across 25 acres of quiet forest, offering privacy and a sense of deep immersion in the trees. Many enjoy filtered river views through the canopy.
Each season brings its own pleasures: temperate summer days and cool, starlit evenings; fall foliage and crisp air; the stillness of snow-covered woods in winter; and, in spring, a quiet reawakening as color and life return to the forest.
Arbor Camp began in 2022, when three friends came together to build a quiet place in the woods. Thirty acres along the Union River in Ellsworth offered the space—and the inspiration—for something lasting. The project was shaped by Maine’s camp tradition: simple, seasonal dwellings that invite stillness, comfort, and connection to the land.
We followed the path of an old roadbed to guide our layout, preserving as many trees as possible. Cabins and treehouses are spaced for privacy and quiet, and walking trails were cut by hand to follow the natural shape of the land.
Wildlife is part of daily life here. Songbirds call from the canopy. Heron and eagles pass overhead. Deer move through the understory, and turkeys wander the clearings. Mushrooms—chanterelles, black trumpets, and others—rise through the forest floor in season.
From the start, the idea was simple: to create a place that feels good to step into. Each of us brought different experiences—design, building, creative work—but shared a clear vision: spaces that are well made, deeply comfortable, and in tune with their surroundings.

Trailside Camp is 20X20 off grid Cabin located on West Brook Meadow in Franklin Maine. It has direct access at mile 7.5 of the Downeast Sunrise Trail. Exceptional meadow sunset views for watching Deer, Bear, Birds, Beavers and many other critters that roam the area. There is no electricity, and limited running water. It is equipped with propane stove and fridge. There is a porta potti on site
This is a one room cabin with covered porch. There is no electricity and a porti potty is used for a bathroom. It is serviced on a weekly basis. There is limited hot and cold non potable water to be used for doing dishes, and hygiene purposes. Water is supplied via a handpump and a 12volt solar power system from a dug well just in front of the cabin. The cabin is very comfortable with two people, but capable of sleeping 3 especially if one is a child. There is access to a natural boiling spring locate about 3/4 mile away from the cabin (directions included in the "Arrival" paperwork. There is also an outside shower with limited hot and cold water.
The Cabin is located at mile 7.5 of the Downeast Sunrise Trail which is a 83 mile multi-use corridor trail from Ellsworth to Pembroke Maine. We are ATV, and Bicycle friendly. Pets are allowed but their hair and messes must be taken care of. It is only 12 miles to Ellsworth and 30 miles to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, but still feels like the middle of nowhere.
We do not include towels, shampoo and personal grooming items, or pillows/linens for the beds. There are mattress covers on the bed with a comforter. This is an off Grid Experience.
The kitchen is adequately equipped for cooking and refrigeration w a propane refrigerator and stove. Gas lights are used for lighting at night.
Keep in mind this is a remote cabin but so close to Acadia National Park and other amenities. There may be a mouse that sneaks in. There may be insects (mosquitos, black flies, ants etc.) It is not possible to be in the woods and experience its beauty in a camp without the chance of encountering nature. If your looking for a motel room then you should book one because this is not it. We offer a peaceful place that is thriving with nature and beauty. There is plenty of room in the yard for recreation and tenting.

We have an inviting, cozy 2-bedroom cottage on Flanders Pond. The sunrises are fabulous, there is a private dock with kayak and canoe in the summer, hammock hanging between the shade trees, firepit for evenings outside and lots of stargazing to do!
Unplug, recharge, and get away from all the hustle & bustle. We do have a TV for the occasional rainy-day movie, with 2 comfy recliners in the loft. The living room, however, has a fabulous view, not only of the sunrises but sunsets across the pond on the other shore. Grab a glass of wine, sit on the couch and watch the sky change right before your eyes.
Approximately 45 minutes from Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor or 35 minutes from Acadia National Park at Schoodic Point.
Spend the day exploring Ellsworth, Bar Harbor or Downeast, hiking one of the many trails or mountains we have nearby, or hang out here swimming, paddling, fishing or napping.
Regardless of what you do during the day you will find Sunrise Shores Hideaway very restful, calm and welcoming when you return. With a full kitchen to cook some delicious Maine food and a spa-like bathroom to soak in the tub or shower before you head to bed, you will be well rested and ready for the next adventure.
The downstairs bedroom has black out shades and a closet to hang your clothes. The upstairs bedroom has dresser for your clothes, a skylight for stargazing as you drift off to sleep and eye masks if the moon is too bright or you want to sleep past sunrise.
I guarantee you will want to be up having a cup of coffee on the deck watching the show the sunrise puts on.
We have a designated workspace for those who must bring work with them, and Wi-Fi to get connected.
Our land is great for those who travel with their dogs, we have a pet bed and if your fur baby is well mannered and friendly, being off leash is fine.

We stayed in the writers cabin in the middle of chilly mud season and it was still magical! The wood stove kept us plenty warm and we loved the candles. It felt perfectly secluded and yet not too far off the path that we couldn’t make it to Acadia to hike. Will definitely be returning!

This was my first Hipcamp and it was great. The cabin had everything we needed and though it definitely got cold, as we were visiting in mid-November, a fire and plenty of blankets kept us warm through the nights. This is a lovely little camping and so peaceful!

Super helpful hosts and a nice Hipcamp. It is as advertised for the most part being a rustic cabin. We've stayed in many rustic cabins through Hipcamp.
A few things to note:
Even though there is a woodstove (we used every night to keep us warm) the cabin does not hold heat because the walls to the cabin have large gaps so we had to use 4 bundles of hardwood a night to keep it comfortable at night (temps in the 20° to mid 30°s) We were somewhat prepared because we knew it wasn't insulated but we were not expecting the amount of heat loss due to all the gaps in the cabin.
There are other campsites on the property which are a good distance away (some within sight) We got a little freaked out by a group of campers walking up to the cabin at 10:30 at night and waking us up. (Definitely not the host's fault) but just be aware it's not the most secluded.
Being in the cabin it was a little quieter but this spot is off a main road so there is a bit of noise from that but definitely not something that would completely deter me.
The host was very helpful when we mentioned that we'd like to drive up to the cabin. They told us we were not able to do that (I'd just suggest taking that as an option off the listing because we chose this site in part because of that having 4wd) but they offered to help us bring our stuff with another wagon attached to the owners tractor which was very nice.
The cabin is equipped with everything you would need for rustic camp: pots, pans, water, utensils.

Robert's cabin at Tilden Pond is a wonderfully secluded get away spot with a beautiful woods walk (15mins) to the pond. We were happy about being able to park next to the cabin for easy unloading of gear. We liked making meals over a camp stove we brought and at the fire pit to calls of loons and owls. We brought our own tent but opted to stay in the cabin on the cots provided, which were comfortable with our sleeping pads and bags. Our dog loved having the woods to romp in unleashed. The sunset at the pond was a highlight. On a future trip we hope to take advantage of the double kayak. We saw others kayaking, sailing, and fishing off in the distance.
Robert has done a good job repairing the road recently but it is important to have a truck or vehicle with good clearance to drive in. We loved having both Belfast and Camden only minutes away.

We absolutely loved our stay here! The cabin was cozy with everything we needed for cooking right on hand. Super easy to get to, which made the trip more relaxing.
The location was prime, about 100 yards of waterfront to enjoy, with sunny mornings and shady afternoons that were perfect for hanging out. Our two dogs had the best time. We’d absolutely come back!
