Learn about the Gateway to Acadia:
We now have water! A 300’ well and a hand pump make for some ice cold water onsite, It’s a little rusty in color but great for washing dishes and bathing. Space and privacy! 3 acres to yourself, sweeping views and sunsets including a glimpse of Cadillac Mountain from across the Bay. 12x12 cozy shelter! No electricity in the Timber Tent, but there are power outlets on the electric pole at the beginning of the driveway. Feel free to bring your tent, camper or stay in the cabin. Room for 4 and a few more on the floor of the Timber Tent. There is a small futon inside. This site is 10 miles from Acadia National Park (Schoodic side) where there are mountain bike and hiking trails. Want to swim and kayak in freshwater? Jones Pond is just a few miles away and has a public beach. Take a ferry to Bar Harbor and then retreat to the quiet side of the Bay. Hike Schoodic Mountain and take a swim at the end on Donnell Pond. Restaurants and shops are ready for you in Winter Harbor. Enjoy the sunrise trail for 4 wheelers only a few miles from the campsite. With 3 acres of clearing and 60 acres on the property to explore, you can Enjoy all that DownEast has to offer.

A cell phone booster is at the campground which works good and runs all the time and no wifi or power at the cabins off grid. Shower is located at the cabins.
We are located 2 miles from Route 1 Milbridge and about 2 miles from Route 1A Milbridge and we just fixed the Old County Road and the parking area and the road is settling from being fixed but low cars have been making into the parking area with no problems.
The paths are primitive and not suited for people who have trouble walking on uneven ground.
We provide solar lights, propane stove, propane, natural bug spray, battery bank charger, 1 small bottled water per guests and sleeping bags.
Heat provided from Oct 1 to April 30.
No Out of State Maine Firewood.
No water at the shower from October 15 to April 30 because of the frost.

We offer two (2) parking sites suitable for an RV or tow trailer no longer than 40' and no taller than 15'. There is a 50 AMP hookup, plus recently tested well water and newly re-piped septic. This site is down a 350+' private No Outlet drive with limited lighting, surrounded by a thicket of trees on all sides for total privacy and the serene quiet of forest life in Downeast Maine.
While we are not yet set up for tent camping, stay tuned for when we open additional sites!

On the property itself, we have 20+ acres to explore including a trail that begins* your trek up to the peak of Young Tunk Mountain. There, you can begin your day early and treat yourself to a brilliant glimpse of the first morning light in Sunrise County. Or, enjoy an evening of stargazing with beautiful clarity steps away from a blazing campfire with the opportunity for songs, stories, and laughter to last a lifetime.

We enjoyed the beach, and I would highly consider coming back at a warmer time. The campsite we stayed at wasn’t as big as it looked in photos, so there was some maneuvering near the old house to fit our two tiny trailers.
It was an hour to the main Acadia entrance, but so beautiful out there. If camping in tick season, bring spray and check your dogs. We were covered.
Beach was 100/10.

We had the best time at this site. The views were absolutely incredible. We had better sunset views from the campsite than we even would in Acadia. Having the water, electric plug, and bathroom on site was so helpful, too. We ended up tent camping, but the little house was such an added perk, too for storage, spending time together, etc. I can’t recommend this spot enough!!

This was the perfect campsite. Very private. Really nice octagonal picnic table and complete setting with comfortable Adirondack chairs at the fire pit. A very short walk to a gorgeous water view. Sunset was spectacular. Lily was very responsive and helpful.

We loved this place so much we booked 5 days originally only to extend and stay 14. Most definitely one of my favorite campsites ever. Woods, beach, calm, quiet, serenity, sunsets! private, harbors, trails, kayaks, Acadia! Really loved this place and the beauty it offers..other guests indicated they had returned 3 and 4 times already. Cannot say enough about Lily, just an amazing host and person who went way out of her way to navigate a few challenges (imposed by ourselves) during our stay. Quick to respond to all of it and had solutions all along the way. Would vote best host of any stay and cannot wait to return to this amazing property. An amazing variance of sunsets and the bay was completely still and other times crashing waves at the private beach. Would give it 10 stars if I could. Thanks Lily!

We stayed here for a month while sightseeing Maine. Michael was a terrific host!! The site was clean, spacious and everything we hoped! Michael is very knowledgeable about the area and even knew where we could get the BEST homemade blueberry pies! Michael is very friendly and accommodating to his campers and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was everything we hoped (and turned out to be more than we hoped). Highly recommend this host and the beautiful area of Cherryfield, Maine.

A truly beautiful and totally private spot that we highly recommend. More than we are used to spending for a campsite but with your own beach with a 2nd firepit on it is pretty priceless.
Do be cautious with dogs off leash as there is a young porcupine roaming the site currently. Fortunately, only three quills in the lips that we were able to pull ourselves and then kept a closer eye! Lily totally left us to ourselves but was quick to reply when needed.

We Loved this spot. So relaxing watching tides and daylight changing. Easy local hikes, bracing dips at high tide (mid September) and privacy as advertised. Generous of the hosts to share such a space. The other spots here look great too, but the point was just what we were looking for. Great offers of camping perks from the host as well. Highly recommend, again- Loved it!

We were a large group (10people) and this site worked really well for us! There’s an area to hang out up top with a fire pit and benches and plenty of space. Down the hill is the lake side fire pit which would have been awesome to sit at but the group was too big. I would definitely come back again- the lake was serene and quiet and paddling around the lake was so surreal. Claudia and Tom were awesome hosts- super accommodating. Thank you so much for sharing!!

This place is beautiful. I loved camping in the yard in from of the old cottage. The space is incredibly private and quiet. The fire ring down by the water is the icing on the cake. I would definitely stay here again.

This was such a an incredible Hip Camp experience for us! It was so quiet and peaceful in the forest canopy, but just a 150 yd walk to the bay.
