Beautiful private place with a 360 view of the mountains! Completely impressed by the stone picnic table! The turn is a bit hidden so drive very slowly — we reached the top of the mountain and had to turn around because we went too far. I think the sign is a little hidden within the bushes. Otherwise, such a lovely stay! Would return!

What a beautiful and well laid out location. There are different sections of camping, depending on what you like. Large fields with a very nice little stream off the back of the property where you may be lucky to catch some horses playing in the water. The tenting area looks amazing - amongst apple trees and along the river. The owners are present and attentive. We messaged them about a boisterous neighbor after quiet hours and they not only kindly addressed it at the time, but followed-up the next morning. Bonus; The store has a little of everything you could possibly need.

This is our most beloved spot. We love it because of its spectacular view over Maine and the absolute privacy! We have been coming for years and were never disappointed by the place or the host. Rod has always been very forthcoming, helpful and reliable. This time he even gave us a tour to the second spot that he plans to open up next year: another spot with all the privacy you could wish for and an amazing view. If you are looking for a spot that gives you beauty and privacy but also the closeness to Camden and Rockport for getting some hustle and bustle in summer in Maine, you are at the perfect place. We are looking forward to come back again. And we are planning to do that in October. With a camper, it doesn't matter when it gets a little cold at night, because the view is always amazing no matter the season.

This site was absolutely incredible! We stayed here for one night and would definitely stay here again. We were able to pick some fresh blueberry’s in the morning. The views from the campsite are very nice but loved how the site had a table, chairs, and fire pit. Bugs were not an issue at all. We will definitely be returning in the future to camp here and explore more of the surrounding area.

This is the most beautiful place I have ever camped. I watched the sun set in the west and then watched the full moon rise in the east. In the morning the mists rose from the ponds in the valley to accompany the sunrise. You have the whole place to yourself!

I knew from the reviews that when I visited Maine I would have to spend a night here, and I was not disappointed! My son and I spent our last night of our 9-day Maine vacation here, and as we arrived Rod greeted us & showed us around. The 360 view is gorgeous day and night. The cool breezes kept the mosquitoes away, and we spent a couple hours picking blueberries, then explored the property a bit more. There were blueberries everywhere we walked! We ate dinner beside the fire pit at the large stone table, watching the sun set and the stars come out. Breathtaking. Rod is a great host and we are grateful that he shared his property with us.

Learn more about this land: Private 1.5 acre field off of Staples Point Road, 3 miles from downtown Freeport, 1 mile to Winslow Park. Field is surrounded mostly by forrest, only non-drinking water provided from the garden hose at the entrance to the field. Water is shut off late October through the winter but the site is available. Whatever you bring in, you take out; garbage, human waste, etc. There is a camp fire with benches, plenty of fire wood and a luggable loo if needed.

Toad Hall is a heated, one room, 8x8 cabin in Harrison, Maine, with access to the Bear River for wading and swimming (depending on the river height.) There is a firepit at the cabin, along with one down by the river. Firewood is provided. The lower area by the river is a beautiful place to hang out, pitch hammocks etc... The cabin is near the road, which is great for loading in and loading out, but you will hear/see cars drive by. (Read our reviews, we stand by them!) There is no running water or bathroom on the property so we ask you bring a camping potty and do not bury human waste. The Bear River, which is a beautiful spot to swim and wade in, runs right through the property- but it's also drinking water and a protected watershed. There is a beautiful hike to a mountain lookout view of an amazing panoramic of lakes and mountains including Mt Washington and Pleasant Ski mountain. From 5 Kezars rd turn right onto Kezars Ridge Drive, the last camp road before the pavement ends.) At 0.6 miles keep right onto 5 Kezar Ponds Road. Look for a GLLT sign on the right. This is the Mountain Trail. There is a second access 0.5 miles farther west on 5 Kezar Ponds Road for Ron’s Loop. There are no signs for Kezar gorge. Hike towards the sound of the falls. There is a small cave under the falls you can climb up into if you are a strong swimmer. There is a second set of falls if you hike down the river. A most magical spot for sure. Virginia lake is in the White Mountain National forest and is only 6 miles (n a ten minute drive away) Sometimes you have to hike in a bit to get to the beach. Shallow beach is great for children and dogs. Keewayden Lake Dam is a fun place to swim in a local lake.
