WELCOME to Happy Hippie Lane Maine! Get your "groove" on or hang loose here on a precious little island with a big bridge just off route one in the heart of Midcoast. Hundreds of guests report the perfect balance of upbeat fun and chill time and call our place and hospitality "magic", "amazing" and "holy guacamole!" It is a lovely spot just off the beaten path but close enough to access the frey. :) I welcome my guests personally and have likely had a chat before you booked. I like to know what your hopes and priorities are around your stay before I accept so I can meet both of our needs. When you arrive, I will greet you and share a little history/tour of the place. I accept travelers between 4 and 9 pm but like all of us schedules fluctuate and we can roll some. There's a strong chance on an average Maine clear summer evening, I have the campfire going and the solar lights around the yard are charged for their evening gentle show. All of the spaces I rent are bedrooms only. You walk a few steps/yards to my 5 bedroom home and access two showers and some kitchen use. I also have an outdoor shower and outdoor kitchen that is cute and for your use. It's fun to cook on the fire too! I prefer folks to limit cooking esp in hot weather but support healthier eating and may share some of my foraging tips. The rooms are equipped with plenty of linens and fan power. You will be cozy either way the temps go. There is a lovely porch on the log home where you can sit and enjoy the sunset and lots of wildlife activity. The back yard has tether ball and lots of seating as well as the good sized fire pit with ghosts of hundreds of fireside chats gone by. I look forward to ours! Next door there is a gravel road on a lightly traveled road for your walking or biking pleasure. I am happy to join you in a hilly roller coaster cycling experience and have a few bikes to offer up. I am a WWOOF host and have occasional "helpers" and you are welcome to explore my veggie and flower gardens. This host loves board games and crafts so is often ready to share either or both with guests. There are 150 acres around me that are wooded and pathed so your pup will love it too. Recognizing both its history and its potential to offer people a deeper experience of Deer Isle’s natural beauty, he began the process of carefully restoring and reopening the land. Working season by season, Caleb rebuilt the sites, added new infrastructure, re-established utilities, and designed a campground that honors the land’s roots while offering a comfortable, modern, and nature-forward experience for today’s guests. In July 2020, the property reopened under a new name: Four Acre Woods. Topsham is lovely and I'm grateful to live here and share this space with travelers! My site is designed to be low-priced, easy in-out, and a convenient stop-over for the traveler. Learn more about this land: Camping area is ~1 acre. Total property size is 3.5 acres. Keep on property please. Water and respite available here for a day or two, if this area is your destination or if you're on the road toward an adventure. A single private site. We are not a campground, this is the back part of our land that we hope to offer as respite and safety for travelers looking for this kind of place to stay. We give absolute privacy to campers in the hours 4pm-11am. Please consider that we might be on the lower property during the middle of the day: 11am-4pm, which matches most of our visitors needs as they are using the property as an evening and morning stopover. Fires are not allowed when the fire danger is High through Extreme. We will talk about fire safety if the danger level is Moderate. Thanks for being safe! Things to do in area: Midcoast Maine has an endless bounty of treasures for visitors in all seasons. Hiking, biking, boating, history, art, swimming, food, and cultural events with beautiful nature surrounding it all.  Closest to site: The Tarbox Preserve, a Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust property with hiking and skiing, is 2 lots up the road. The lovely Head of Tide park with a small waterfall is 2.2 miles to the west. Grocery: Our towns (Topsham and Brunswick) have several grocery stores: Hannaford, Shaw's, Market Basket, and a wonderful natural foods store.  We have many farm stands with organic and locally grown produce closely nearby - ask us to help you locate them! Food: Brunswick is restaurant and brewery heaven! Amazing beers, wood fired pizza, sushi, Thai, Vietnamese, Greek, German, Filipino, deli, Fusion and more! Harpswell Heritage Land Trust trails are dog-friendly and on the beautiful Maine coast.

Big Moose Inn Cabins & CampgroundIrving O. Hunt and his brother Lyman built some rough camps on Millinocket Lake before they became interested in the Nesowadnehunk Stream region. Whether or not their old camps were at the same site as the present camps on Millinocket Lake we do not know.The Millinocket Lake Camps, known today as Big Moose Inn, are located on a narrow spit of land separating Ambejejus Lake and Millinocket Lake. Before a dam controlled Ambajejus’ water level, it was possible to pole up the short stream from Millinocket Lake into Ambejejus.Fred Spencer build the camps, originally named Camp Eureka, in 1899 or 1900 and ran them with his brother. With the founding of Millinocket only a few years earlier and lumbering roads nearing Katahdin, the two lakes became more easily accessible. Camp Eureka was advertised as the only camp reachable by both boat (from Norcross) and road (from Millinocket). In 1905, the rate was $1.50 per day, meals included. Spencer also claimed the lakes had no flies or mosquitoes during spring and summer- a phenomenon caused by the way winds blow across the lakes, which makes it difficult for insects to gain a foothold.The camps’ name changed to Camp Spencer and later to Spencer’s Camps. Around 1929 the lease was transferred to Elmer Woodworth, who lived with his wife on a nearby island while they operated the camps. Elmer, a well-known guide, trapped over the winter, and his wife served as the camp cook. The couple soon renamed the camps Millinocket Lake Camps and Trading Post. They also maintained an outlying camp on Sandy Stream for their guests. In 1941, a major fire broke out in the area. The Woodworths saved the camps by wetting them down, but lost their island home when a stray spark jumped the cove. There is some evidence that, for a short time, a gentleman named Johnny Given either held the lease or managed the camps for the Woodworths. Except for that brief change the Woodworths operated the camps for many years until they passed the lease on to their son Ray, who ran them with his wife Muriel.In 1977, the lease was transferred to Bob and Frederica (“Teddy”) Boynton, who in 1981 sold the trading post to Erwin and Maureen Bacon. The Boyntons retained the sporting camp operation and later added a public restaurant. Teddy renamed the camps Big Moose Inn. Bob and his son Bruce made many renovations to the camps, while Teddy decorated and furnished them. The Boynton Family has remained involved in the success of the inn and restaurant. After Teddy’s death in 1991, management passed to Bruce and his sister Laurie, but Bob and other family members are still very involved.The dam separates the flowages of the two lakes. Millinocket Lake is about eight feet above its original level, and Ambajejus is now some 21 feet above its original level. This is to prevent damage to the private septic system. Your camper RV, off grid van or pop up MUST have an on board toilet, composting or otherwise, no exceptions. **Tenting is not an option on this site, sorry.** The RV's pictured belong to past guests and are not available for rent.  A sister cabin shares the half acre site and is separated by a 16 foot long 9 foot high fence. This cabin is booked up 95 percent for the season. Ellie's location allows easy access to both the Mount Desert Island section of Acadia and the Schoodic Peninsula section. Well behaved dogs/pets are allowed on the site for $7 per pet per night. If you would like to bring a pet, please add a pet fee which is listed as an extra during the booking process. All pets on site must be leashed at all times, no exceptions. Campfires are allowed on this site when winds are under 10 mph. Check local weather first. We continue to provide free, locally grown, organic firewood in order to combat inflation and help you stretch your vacation dollar. While Ellie's doesn't have direct water access, there are many shoreline points of access close by. Beaches and water access are everywhere. Wide open space does exist. Come explore the Maine coast. Commuter traffic can be seen and heard from Ellie's RV spot. State route 204 funnels park visitors to Acadia and the MDI area. In 2024 nearly 4 million people visited the Acadia area. Slow down, plan ahead and be patient. 2025 update: You can purchase your park pass online and print it before you arrive. Reservations for Cadillac Mountain are now required due to overcrowding. We have one security camera located on the main fence. This is for your protection as well as ours. For winter stays please send a request before booking. THOMAS POND Thomas Pond is a beautiful 533-acre freshwater with miles of shoreline. Thomas Pond’s maximum depth is 64 feet, and the mean depth is 22 feet. Our guests are welcome to kayak, canoe, swim, fish, and paddle board from the shores of The Queen’s Property, or one of 5 Right of Ways on Watkins Shores Road owned by our Association. Access to your private waterfront is a short stroll through our woods. As our guest staying at The Queen's Property, you will also have free access to the Watkins Shores Road Association's boat launch. The boat launch is just a two or three minute walk down the road from your site. Our new dock is available to dock your boat during the day.. However, there is a small fee to dock your boat overnight (see "Extras") at our site. Just make sure you check for Milfoil or any other invasive plants before launching. LOCAL ATTRACTIONS NEAR CAMP Within 5 minutes of camp, you will find all the essentials, including food items, ice, firewood, goodies, gas, and RV supplies. In fact, you can even order your groceries online for pickup, (free at Hannaford Brothers Grocery and Walmart) either on your way to your campsite or when you need to resupply your camp (we would be happy to give you the details). During your stay, you may also want to take a trip off-site to explore all that the Lakes Region offers. Explore the historic oceanfront City of Portland, or the local Towns of Windham, Naples, or Bridgton. Portland is a 35 minute drive from The Queen's Property. The coastline around Portland is rugged and attractive with world-famous lighthouses dotted along its shorelines. Numerous locally owned shops and nationally recognized restaurants can be found tucked into its many harbors and shorelines. Closer to camp, enjoy strolling through the Town of Naples. Naples sits smack-dab in the middle of the Sebago Lakes Region. Sebago Lake abuts its western border and Long Lake abuts its eastern border. A short 8-minute drive from your site, Naples spoils its visitors with boat rentals, waterfront shops, and awesome restaurants. Further north is the Town of Bridgton. Bridgton is a 20-minute drive from your campsite. It offers its visitors a quaint downtown filled with local retailers, pubs, and restaurants. Enjoy the beaches of Bridgton’s Crystal Lake which sits on the edge of its downtown borders. The towns of Raymond and Windham also offer our visitors numerous restaurants, grocery stores, hardware stores, and gas stations. Once again, all within a short drive from your campsite (3-4 minutes). NEARBY STATE PARKS AND OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES If your idea of exploring is centered around outdoor activities, then Sebago Lake State Park is a 1,342-acre park that abuts the shores of Sebago Lake. Within the park, you will enjoy protected forests, bike paths, and Sebago Lake beaches. Sebago Lake is a deep glacial lake, and by itself is 44 square miles of clear waters that abut Sebago Lake State Park. The park and the lake host some of Maine's’ best sandy beaches, water sports, fishing, boating, boat rentals, camping, picnic areas, boat launches, extensive woodlands, a wide array of critters, hiking trails, and walking trails. Sebago Park hosts various play areas for children with slides and swings. The summer sun is warm and the autumn colors are always abundant and beautiful. I accept travelers between 4 and 9 pm but like all of us schedules fluctuate and we can roll some. There's a strong chance on an average Maine clear summer evening, I have the campfire going and the solar lights around the yard are charged for their evening gentle show. All of the spaces I rent are bedrooms only. You walk a few steps/yards to my 5 bedroom home and access two showers and some kitchen use. I also have an outdoor shower and outdoor kitchen that is cute and for your use. It's fun to cook on the fire too! I prefer folks to limit cooking esp in hot weather but support healthier eating and may share some of my foraging tips. The rooms are equipped with plenty of linens and fan power. You will be cozy either way the temps go. There is a lovely porch on the log home where you can sit and enjoy the sunset and lots of wildlife activity. The back yard has tether ball and lots of seating as well as the good sized fire pit with ghosts of hundreds of fireside chats gone by. I look forward to ours! Next door there is a gravel road on a lightly traveled road for your walking or biking pleasure. I am happy to join you in a hilly roller coaster cycling experience and have a few bikes to offer up. I am a WWOOF host and have occasional "helpers" and you are welcome to explore my veggie and flower gardens. This host loves board games and crafts so is often ready to share either or both with guests. There are 150 acres around me that are wooded and pathed so your pup will love it too. Big Moose Inn Cabins & CampgroundIrving O. Hunt and his brother Lyman built some rough camps on Millinocket Lake before they became interested in the Nesowadnehunk Stream region. Whether or not their old camps were at the same site as the present camps on Millinocket Lake we do not know.The Millinocket Lake Camps, known today as Big Moose Inn, are located on a narrow spit of land separating Ambejejus Lake and Millinocket Lake. Before a dam controlled Ambajejus’ water level, it was possible to pole up the short stream from Millinocket Lake into Ambejejus.Fred Spencer build the camps, originally named Camp Eureka, in 1899 or 1900 and ran them with his brother. With the founding of Millinocket only a few years earlier and lumbering roads nearing Katahdin, the two lakes became more easily accessible. Camp Eureka was advertised as the only camp reachable by both boat (from Norcross) and road (from Millinocket). In 1905, the rate was $1.50 per day, meals included. Spencer also claimed the lakes had no flies or mosquitoes during spring and summer- a phenomenon caused by the way winds blow across the lakes, which makes it difficult for insects to gain a foothold.The camps’ name changed to Camp Spencer and later to Spencer’s Camps. Around 1929 the lease was transferred to Elmer Woodworth, who lived with his wife on a nearby island while they operated the camps. Elmer, a well-known guide, trapped over the winter, and his wife served as the camp cook. The couple soon renamed the camps Millinocket Lake Camps and Trading Post. They also maintained an outlying camp on Sandy Stream for their guests. In 1941, a major fire broke out in the area. The Woodworths saved the camps by wetting them down, but lost their island home when a stray spark jumped the cove. Ellie's RV Spot is a single RV site designed for use by any length Class A thru C motorized or towable style recreational vehicles including conversion vans/off grid vehicles. 50 or 30 amp electric, water, sewer and screaming fast wifi are included.  All RV's including off grid and pop-ups must set up on GRAVEL PAD only. This is to prevent damage to the private septic system. Your camper RV, off grid van or pop up MUST have an on board toilet, composting or otherwise, no exceptions. **Tenting is not an option on this site, sorry.** The RV's pictured belong to past guests and are not available for rent.  A sister cabin shares the half acre site and is separated by a 16 foot long 9 foot high fence. This cabin is booked up 95 percent for the season. Ellie's location allows easy access to both the Mount Desert Island section of Acadia and the Schoodic Peninsula section. Well behaved dogs/pets are allowed on the site for $7 per pet per night. If you would like to bring a pet, please add a pet fee which is listed as an extra during the booking process. All pets on site must be leashed at all times, no exceptions. Campfires are allowed on this site when winds are under 10 mph. Check local weather first. We continue to provide free, locally grown, organic firewood in order to combat inflation and help you stretch your vacation dollar. While Ellie's doesn't have direct water access, there are many shoreline points of access close by. Beaches and water access are everywhere. Wide open space does exist. Come explore the Maine coast. Commuter traffic can be seen and heard from Ellie's RV spot. State route 204 funnels park visitors to Acadia and the MDI area. In 2024 nearly 4 million people visited the Acadia area. Slow down, plan ahead and be patient. 2025 update: You can purchase your park pass online and print it before you arrive. Reservations for Cadillac Mountain are now required due to overcrowding. We have one security camera located on the main fence. This is for your protection as well as ours. For winter stays please send a request before booking. We have 30 or 50 amp electric and sewer only from Nov 1 ~ April 30. Water, wifi and trash removal are suspended for the winter. Snow might prevent access during some weeks. Request first!

THOMAS POND Thomas Pond is a beautiful 533-acre freshwater with miles of shoreline. Thomas Pond’s maximum depth is 64 feet, and the mean depth is 22 feet. Our guests are welcome to kayak, canoe, swim, fish, and paddle board from the shores of The Queen’s Property, or one of 5 Right of Ways on Watkins Shores Road owned by our Association. Access to your private waterfront is a short stroll through our woods. As our guest staying at The Queen's Property, you will also have free access to the Watkins Shores Road Association's boat launch. The boat launch is just a two or three minute walk down the road from your site. Our new dock is available to dock your boat during the day.. However, there is a small fee to dock your boat overnight (see "Extras") at our site. Just make sure you check for Milfoil or any other invasive plants before launching. LOCAL ATTRACTIONS NEAR CAMP Within 5 minutes of camp, you will find all the essentials, including food items, ice, firewood, goodies, gas, and RV supplies. In fact, you can even order your groceries online for pickup, (free at Hannaford Brothers Grocery and Walmart) either on your way to your campsite or when you need to resupply your camp (we would be happy to give you the details). During your stay, you may also want to take a trip off-site to explore all that the Lakes Region offers. Explore the historic oceanfront City of Portland, or the local Towns of Windham, Naples, or Bridgton. Portland is a 35 minute drive from The Queen's Property. The coastline around Portland is rugged and attractive with world-famous lighthouses dotted along its shorelines. Numerous locally owned shops and nationally recognized restaurants can be found tucked into its many harbors and shorelines. Closer to camp, enjoy strolling through the Town of Naples. Naples sits smack-dab in the middle of the Sebago Lakes Region. Sebago Lake abuts its western border and Long Lake abuts its eastern border. A short 8-minute drive from your site, Naples spoils its visitors with boat rentals, waterfront shops, and awesome restaurants. Further north is the Town of Bridgton. Bridgton is a 20-minute drive from your campsite. It offers its visitors a quaint downtown filled with local retailers, pubs, and restaurants. Enjoy the beaches of Bridgton’s Crystal Lake which sits on the edge of its downtown borders. The towns of Raymond and Windham also offer our visitors numerous restaurants, grocery stores, hardware stores, and gas stations. Once again, all within a short drive from your campsite (3-4 minutes). NEARBY STATE PARKS AND OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES If your idea of exploring is centered around outdoor activities, then Sebago Lake State Park is a 1,342-acre park that abuts the shores of Sebago Lake. Within the park, you will enjoy protected forests, bike paths, and Sebago Lake beaches. Sebago Lake is a deep glacial lake, and by itself is 44 square miles of clear waters that abut Sebago Lake State Park. The park and the lake host some of Maine's’ best sandy beaches, water sports, fishing, boating, boat rentals, camping, picnic areas, boat launches, extensive woodlands, a wide array of critters, hiking trails, and walking trails. Sebago Park hosts various play areas for children with slides and swings. The summer sun is warm and the autumn colors are always abundant and beautiful. The entrance and parking lot are wheelchair accessible. If you are an avid hiker, The Queen’s Property is a short drive to numerous mountain ranges, forests, and peaks, all of which contain hundreds of miles of ATV and hiking trails. Ellie's RV Spot is a single RV site designed for use by any length Class A thru C motorized or towable style recreational vehicles including conversion vans/off grid vehicles. 50 or 30 amp electric, water, sewer and screaming fast wifi are included.  All RV's including off grid and pop-ups must set up on GRAVEL PAD only. This is to prevent damage to the private septic system. Your camper RV, off grid van or pop up MUST have an on board toilet, composting or otherwise, no exceptions. **Tenting is not an option on this site, sorry.** The RV's pictured belong to past guests and are not available for rent.  A sister cabin shares the half acre site and is separated by a 16 foot long 9 foot high fence. This cabin is booked up 95 percent for the season. Ellie's location allows easy access to both the Mount Desert Island section of Acadia and the Schoodic Peninsula section. Well behaved dogs/pets are allowed on the site for $7 per pet per night. If you would like to bring a pet, please add a pet fee which is listed as an extra during the booking process. All pets on site must be leashed at all times, no exceptions. Campfires are allowed on this site when winds are under 10 mph. Check local weather first. We continue to provide free, locally grown, organic firewood in order to combat inflation and help you stretch your vacation dollar. While Ellie's doesn't have direct water access, there are many shoreline points of access close by. Beaches and water access are everywhere. Wide open space does exist. Come explore the Maine coast. Commuter traffic can be seen and heard from Ellie's RV spot. State route 204 funnels park visitors to Acadia and the MDI area. In 2024 nearly 4 million people visited the Acadia area. Slow down, plan ahead and be patient. 2025 update: You can purchase your park pass online and print it before you arrive. Reservations for Cadillac Mountain are now required due to overcrowding. We have one security camera located on the main fence. This is for your protection as well as ours. For winter stays please send a request before booking. THOMAS POND Thomas Pond is a beautiful 533-acre freshwater with miles of shoreline. Thomas Pond’s maximum depth is 64 feet, and the mean depth is 22 feet. Our guests are welcome to kayak, canoe, swim, fish, and paddle board from the shores of The Queen’s Property, or one of 5 Right of Ways on Watkins Shores Road owned by our Association. Access to your private waterfront is a short stroll through our woods. As our guest staying at The Queen's Property, you will also have free access to the Watkins Shores Road Association's boat launch. The boat launch is just a two or three minute walk down the road from your site. Our new dock is available to dock your boat during the day.. However, there is a small fee to dock your boat overnight (see "Extras") at our site. Just make sure you check for Milfoil or any other invasive plants before launching. LOCAL ATTRACTIONS NEAR CAMP Within 5 minutes of camp, you will find all the essentials, including food items, ice, firewood, goodies, gas, and RV supplies. In fact, you can even order your groceries online for pickup, (free at Hannaford Brothers Grocery and Walmart) either on your way to your campsite or when you need to resupply your camp (we would be happy to give you the details). During your stay, you may also want to take a trip off-site to explore all that the Lakes Region offers. Explore the historic oceanfront City of Portland, or the local Towns of Windham, Naples, or Bridgton. Portland is a 35 minute drive from The Queen's Property. The coastline around Portland is rugged and attractive with world-famous lighthouses dotted along its shorelines. Numerous locally owned shops and nationally recognized restaurants can be found tucked into its many harbors and shorelines. Closer to camp, enjoy strolling through the Town of Naples. Naples sits smack-dab in the middle of the Sebago Lakes Region. Sebago Lake abuts its western border and Long Lake abuts its eastern border. A short 8-minute drive from your site, Naples spoils its visitors with boat rentals, waterfront shops, and awesome restaurants. Further north is the Town of Bridgton. Bridgton is a 20-minute drive from your campsite. It offers its visitors a quaint downtown filled with local retailers, pubs, and restaurants. Enjoy the beaches of Bridgton’s Crystal Lake which sits on the edge of its downtown borders. The towns of Raymond and Windham also offer our visitors numerous restaurants, grocery stores, hardware stores, and gas stations. Once again, all within a short drive from your campsite (3-4 minutes). NEARBY STATE PARKS AND OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES If your idea of exploring is centered around outdoor activities, then Sebago Lake State Park is a 1,342-acre park that abuts the shores of Sebago Lake. Within the park, you will enjoy protected forests, bike paths, and Sebago Lake beaches. Sebago Lake is a deep glacial lake, and by itself is 44 square miles of clear waters that abut Sebago Lake State Park. The park and the lake host some of Maine's’ best sandy beaches, water sports, fishing, boating, boat rentals, camping, picnic areas, boat launches, extensive woodlands, a wide array of critters, hiking trails, and walking trails. Sebago Park hosts various play areas for children with slides and swings. The summer sun is warm and the autumn colors are always abundant and beautiful. The entrance and parking lot are wheelchair accessible. If you are an avid hiker, The Queen’s Property is a short drive to numerous mountain ranges, forests, and peaks, all of which contain hundreds of miles of ATV and hiking trails. We absolutely loved our stay at Four Acre Woods Campground. If anything we wish we had stayed longer! The campsite was out on a very quiet island, truly not too far from our outings. We stayed on the primitive secluded site which was absolutely perfect. It was very spacious, with tons of privacy, located steps away from the community cabin. We wish we had more time to enjoy the community cabin as it was warm, filled with books, games, cookware, utensils, lanterns, ice, tea, coffee, local guides and cozy sofas. Our campsite additionally had a private walk way to the bathrooms, which we were pleasantly surprised by for a campsite! The shower was equipped with shampoo, conditioner and body wash if needed, and the bathroom was as clean as you could possibly expect a campsite bathroom to be! Firewood was easy to purchase and bring over to our campsite which we appreciated. The hosts were very kind and helpful and we truly hope to be back again next year to hopefully spend a much longer stay at the four acre woods and get a chance to experience the onsite sauna :) thanks so much for having us! Would 110% recommend. (Ps. Just beware of deer and wildlife on the drive in, it is deer isle after all ;) )

I always love staying at this HipCamp - am a repeat camper here. It is actually my favorite Hipcamp. Sarah takes a great deal of care to make it nice, with a container of fresh water, a compost toilet, wood for the fire left in various sizes ranging from kindling to bigger logs. It is private and peaceful, and my dogs and I enjoy it immensely.

I spent three nights in the cozy barn tucked close to the wolves, and it was incredible drifting off to the sound of their howls at night. Quarrys Ledge was wonderful ! From the hospitable staff to the beautiful grounds, we had a great stay! The bathrooms were definitely note worthy as well, always clean and stocked. I also love that they gave an option to add firewood to the reservation - saved us a trip to the store! I highly recommend and would come back again!

This campground was the perfect place for us "home" during our fall visit to Acadia. We are a self-contained unit when we are on the road. That being said, it was nice to hook upto power and refill our water tank during our stay. It was also nice to have hot showers available. The campground was quiet at night. I slept well at night. The site was very close to all of the hikes on MDI. Some just down the road, trailheads no more than a 30 minute drive away. The site firm ground and fairly level. Perfect for our campervan. Being on the westside of MDI, it is away from the constant traffic that you face near Bar Harbor. We would recommend staying here.

If you can practice a ‘leave no trace’ ethic and enjoy camping, but prefer a cabin to a tent, this is a great option for you. Incredible, white sands Pemaquid Beach is 10 minutes away. Unique LaVerna Preserve is a 10 minute walk from the cabin and boasts amazing geological features. World-renowned Damariscotta River Oysters are available in many restaurants in nearby Damariscotta. The Pond Cabin is a 12 ft. x 16 ft. timber frame with a 6'x8' sleeping loft nestled 150 feet off a private, dirt road. As the crow flies, the Pond Cabin is 1/4 mile from the open ocean. Hipcampers will hear lobster boats, gulls and ocean swells. A small pond is just across the small dirt road and provides habitat for peepers and bullfrogs, as well as multiple bird species. The cabin is quite private and tucked into the woods on 3 sides. Nearby attractions include: Long Cove Point (less than 1 mile away), LaVerna Preserve (less than 1 mile away), Pemaquid Beach (a 10 minute drive), Pemaquid Point Lighthouse (a 15 minute drive), Hardy Boat Cruises to Monhegan Island and wildlife viewing tours (a 10 minute Drive), Round Pond Village (a 10 minute drive), as well as boat launch access at Round Pond Village. Fort William Henry is also nearby (a 10 minute drive). Kayak/canoe rentals are available at Bristol Mills and at the site containing Fort William Henry. The beds are covered with Allerease mattress protectors which are antimicrobial and provide allergen protection. Guests should bring their own bedding or sleeping bags. 4 pillows are provided, also covered with Allerease zippered covers. We use a Porta Potty with a hand washing sink inside. The Pond cabin does not have running water, but it does have drinking water and a hand washing sink. The Pond Cabin now has electricity. There is a hiking trail, about a mile long, from the cabin that gives you direct access to the ocean and nearby LaVerna Nature Preserve, a spectacular preserve with sweeping views to the open ocean and unique geologic features. Also, little ones will find the beginnings of a "fairy village" behind the cabin. Many upgrades have been done including a new porch, a loft with a queen bed, a Rinnai heater and 5 outlets on the lower level. Enjoy!

*Please read full description before booking. Please be aware, this is rustic camping in the yard. This is not a campground or upscale facility. Welcome to Lilac Firefly! This is a residential 7 acre property in a quiet and safe neighborhood. We are right off the main road for easy access about 15-20 minutes south of Bangor. It is very peaceful and calm here. We live in the 5 bedroom older farmhouse where you can use the bathroom if needed. You will receive a code for the electronic door lock. There is a small stream and community fireplace by the 4 campsites and another fireplace closer to the garden. The designated campsites are at the rear of the property and are first come, first serve. A tent can be set up anywhere on the 7 acres and does not need to be in the designated campsite area. We have easily acomodated 20+ canpers at once (6-8 groups), though typically you might be the only group here. Car camping, van life, and RVs are welcome! There are some lightly wooded areas, apple trees, a pear tree, and an open field. We are pet friendly and there animals that live here that won't bother you. I also travel a lot as a DJ and audio tech and might not be here, but have a self check in process and video I will send. Roommates are generally here. Maine Savings Amphitheatre is 15 min away (concerts in Bangor). Acadia National Park is just over 1 hour away. Bangor and Bucksport are both about 15 min away. Fort Knox is about 20 min away. From the campsites, the road and house are not visible. We have flowers when in season, deer, turkey, birds, and friendly creatures that visit. Please be ready to be self sufficient and sustainable in any weather. Well water is available at the RV posts and passes all tests - pure and safe for drinking. RV parking may need to be arranged with myself. For RVs, Electric hook up is 30amp and an extra $10/day. Water hook up is $5/fill. Chopped, split, and dried wood (pine) is available included in your Hipcamp fee! You can burn what you need for the day/night. Thank you. Sometimes we get campers who are going to a concert in Bangor, which is awesome. Any hours coming and going are fine! Feel free to reach out with any questions. Enjoy a peaceful stay. 🙏

The site is privately nestled at the back edge of the acreage and is accessible by vehicle. Included is a 16x12 tent platform, off grid solar lights, fire ring, Weber charcoal grill, solar shower, picnic table and a countertop table for preparing food, etc. The site is also equipped with 10 gallons of potable water from a gravity fed spigot. There is a newly built outhouse, and registered campers may enjoy the string lit patio and barn. The post & beam barn is useful for those rainy days with its farm style tables, rocking chairs, coffee maker, toaster oven, hot plate and guest refrigerator. Available for purchase are items such as ice, firewood, farm-fresh eggs, water, drinks, ice cream and baked goods. Corn-hole and other lawn games are also available for your enjoyment. The yurt can sleep two to four people, with a king bed in the main living area and a queen size bed in the back bedroom. Each bed has comfortable fresh clean bedding. The yurt features full kitchen to include a small refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, small 20" cook stove/oven, double cast iron sink, drip coffee pot, tea kettle, microwave, toaster/air fry oven, dishware/glassware for 2-4 people, silverware and cooking utensils, dish towels, dish soap, olive oil, vinegar, cooking spices, cookie sheets, muffin and loaf pans. The bathroom has a 48" stand up shower with rain shower head and is stocked with towels, hand soap, bar soap, hair dryer, starter toilet paper and paper towels for your stay. The living space has a sofa and two chairs perfect to sit and read a book by the fire, play some games or settle down and watch a movie on the 43" smart Roku tv. The yurt is heated with a comfortbuilt pellet stove which is easy to use and can be left unattended for a day out to come back to a nice warm space. We also have a Mini split heat pump which is an additional heat source but also provides air conditioning to keep you cool and comfortable in the warmer months. Outside space Enjoy the view while sitting on the deck with the gas fire place or sit by the wood burning fire pit. (We do not supply wood) but there may occasionally be some left on site. Location The location is perfect for anyone looking for adventure! We are 13 mins to Mt Abram and 27 mins to Sunday River Ski resort! There are many lakes and ponds nearby that are perfect if you are looking to go fishing, kayaking, or looking for a place to cool off in the summer. We are close to many hiking and ATV/snowmobile trails. The town of Bethel is a 15-min drive with lots of great activities including tubingand has some great restaurants, activities as well as a small grocery store.

Please read the description carefully. The location is on the corner of RTE 1 and Powers Drive Lane. To enter, turn onto Powers Drive and take a sharp left into the first driveway and onto the grass back toward rte 1. Park parallel with Powers Drive Lane near the big oaks. Pajaritaflora Artist Studio/Gallery is located here. I am an artist. Welcome to my studio property. There is a long spacious spot for most sizes RV. It has level grass for you to park on. There is a group fire pit area on the grounds for everyone. Many people do not need electricity these days. So I have lowered the price of the spot. It is without electricity. You can add it on if you wish at $20 per night. You will need a long extension, and it is 20 amps. I have water for your holding tank. Sorry, no sewer. This is an excellent spot for a short stay. It is good if you need to be here a couple of days prior to your campground stay! I have been enjoying hosting campers here for the past two seasons. I can't wait to meet you! This is my third season here.
