The kids and I had a lovely stay at the Kilns. 😊 Our hosts were friendly, relaxed, and so thoughtful! We really appreciated that firewood was free because we were using it to cook our meals! Scott even delivered dry wood and kindling when ours got rained on! We did have to get some earplugs for the spring frogs at night but loved hearing the sounds of nature. We weren't bothered by any mosquitoes. It was a perfect close spot for visiting the RRG too! Lots of positives about this site and would recommend. We camped under the chestnut tree because we knew there was some rain in the forecast.

5 nights at Roaring Shoals Farm

This was a lovely spot. Owners were so friendly and are expert helpers in a 3-point turn!! It is an isolated spot and beautiful! Highly recommend!

2 nights at The Kilns @ The Red River Gorge

The Kilns is a beautiful piece of land just ten minutes from the Red River Gorge, which was an amazing arrangement for us hikers. Kimberly was so welcoming and kind. On arrival, she gave us a whole guide packet for our stay, including a map, a list of nearby recommended restaurants, recommended hikes, and even a sticker for our water bottles. A thunderstorm hit on our second night and Kim generously let us move our tent under an awning on their property. With plenty of firewood available and a clean port-a-potty, we’d definitely stay again. Regarding the frogs: yes, they are very loud! You will not be able to ignore them, but we considered them a feature of the land and Kim warned us ahead of time that they’d be making noise. We brought ear plugs and had no trouble getting to sleep (bring them if you stay here).

Weekend Trip to The LAAAAND (just you & 50 acres)

My husband and I loved our camping experience in Cari’s the Laaand. It was fun and weekend is not enough. We loved the short hikes and our favorite is the overlook trail which of course overlooks the Daniel Boone’s Forest. There is no outhouse so better bring your portable toilet ☺️ Overall it was sooo peaceful and serene, we heard roosters at times, but we’re not bothered. The best thing is that we have the place on our own during our stay. 100% sure we’ll book our future camping trips in the Laaaand

This site has amazing views! There were three tents and could easily accommodate more. We a rain storm the first night and the bar was great hang out area to keep dry.

Kimberly is a gracious hostess and was very helpful with recommendations on things to see for this first time visitor to Red River Gorge. Her recommendations for restaurants (Miguel’s!) and coffee (Daniel Boone Coffee house!) were spot on, as well.

We went in late April. We were the only occupants. We had the pick of the lot so we had a chance to check out every option. There were options close together and spots that seemed isolated. Every spot offers something for every camper.

7 nights at The Kilns @ The Red River Gorge

Kimberly and her husband Scott are amazing, they left nothing to want for. I don't even know how to describe this place. The picture do no justice if your looking for small private camping, this is it. In the center of so much to do, the area is absolutely beautiful. I spent a week of vacation here and do not regret even the rainy days. We sat under our canopy and enjoyed it, drinking our coffee. The free fire wood was beyond appreciated! Thanks for all the hard work to keep us stocked. By the way early spring brings on a music simphony of it's own there. Between the crickets and the frogs a radio was not needed. One more of nature's best, being there. Not sure when I'll be back, but I can't wait! Thanks for sharing such a beautiful place!

2 nights at Bar on the Mountain

This site has the most gorgeous views. The property was clean and easy to access. The Bar was weathered and rustic which made the experience more outdoorsy authentic. I enjoyed it for the short amount of time I got to stay. The only thing that was a downer was that the the 2 sites are a little to close to be considered secluded. You can hear each sites conversations. But I do hope to be back again in the near future and bring a bunch more people.

What a great place! Kim and Scott are the best! Scott kept checking on us to be sure we had everything we needed. The free firewood is a nice touch. It’s a beautiful property with a small pond. We will definitely be back!

4 nights at Serenity Camp

Very nice area for a rustic camp! This is an animal lovers paradise with horses nearby, lots of rabbits running around, and a very diverse and active bird population. Very calm, but a little bit of noise pollution at night where we could hear cars, ATVs, and many dogs on adjoining properties kept outdoors. This would typically quiet down around 1am. Also, there is a very vocal whippoorwill in this area that will keep you company all night :) This may be an issue for light sleepers or the superstitious! As for the views, we could not see much at our spot although surrounding trees and starry skies were charming, but my expectations were a little different based on other reviewers' pictures. Regardless, this is a good deal for a bare bones camper, and the location is a short drive from all of the RRG sites.

Our 3rd stay. Still an amazing site. No clue why someone complained about an unbearable oil smell in a review, 3 times there never noticed it. Lot of ticks around the site this trip but that's the whole Gorge area, so pack the bug spray. Planning our next trip already. Can't beat the view.

There is a centrally located bathhouse with toilet, shower and sink and a hose for potable water. We have firewood for sale for $15 per bundle and is an extra option when booking(use what you need during your stay and it is located at the tent sites), you can bring your own and you are welcome to gather from the surrounding area but please do not cut down any living trees/limbs.

The southern perimeter of the property is all cliff line, so you feel truly remote. My place is secluded and peaceful. Its a wooded country setting and is a primitive site. There are no facilities or utilities, there is an outhouse/self composting (follow up your business with dropping leaves in after). It may not be suitable for children as there are active brush/wood burn piles on the land. See all photos and ask questions, please. I want it to be enjoyable for all who book. It’s also noteworthy that there are dogs in the area that roam free, it’s way out in the country, there are no leash laws. I’ve never had any issues with unfriendly dogs, but always be aware. It’s at a dead end road, no thru traffic. We're a small 46-site campground that's owned by a local family. Our families have been here in Boyd County for generations. Our family dream has been in the works for many years. At the end of 21, the dream of having a campground in Ashland KY, had actually come to reality. We had the spot we had been looking for after many years. The spot that would allow us to create a world-class resort right here in our hometown of Ashland in Boyd County KY. A dream that will bring to life a place where countless generations will come to create memories that they will cherish for the rest of their lives. We are a multi-member family business. It's ok. We've been successful in creating several other businesses together, so we're prepared to work together and see this dream fully come true. Our family consists of people that are Fathers, Brothers, Sisters, Wives, and husbands. A couple are now even grandparents. But we are always, family first and that means our friends and team members too. Our goal is to create another business that not only creates a place to come have a great time. It's our goal to create a campground in our hometown area of Ashland KY, Huntington WV, and Southern OH where our team members are able to work and live a great life. Our mission is to take the rewards of our campground business and then "Spread Kindness" throughout the community to all. Especially to those families with kids that are fighting for a better tomorrow, but just can't seem to get ahead. We will announce our weeklong kids camp one day in the very near future and the partnerships we're creating that will impact young lives right here in our community. We are not perfect, but we never give up. We change direction, but we never lose sight of the light at the end of the tunnel. This place isn't just our dream. Oasis Point is for you. Primitive camping. Wildlife like deer, turkey, rabbits and turtles all around. No people or domestic animals on property. Private road leads a mile back to a big clearing with a deer stand. At this clearing two large creeks intersect. The creeks have been tested and are contaminant free, clear and cool. Lots of hiking trails to explore, especially if you follow either creek up to the top of the mountains, you will find giant chunks of coal all around. This property is safe and quiet. Bring your tents, grills, ATVs, fire pits, and whatever you need to enjoy yourself. Wifi available near the house and unlimited access to the hose.
