This area is an old tobacco and cattle farm on a point above Laurel Lake. We do a bit of farming and crafting when we can and thought we’d try and share our lovely spot! Much of the timber on the place is nearly 100 years old hardwoods, with a couple of fields throughout. I camp here myself too, and can recommend it for privacy!

Beautiful location, and a wonderfully scenic drive in. I didn’t stay by the river, but did walk down to the banks. It was so serene. I enjoyed the sounds of the frogs while watching the fireflies blink in the night. Would certainly stay here again.

Camping at the Clayton Geneva Memorial Campground was everything we could have wanted a more! The spot right by the river was picturesque, all the facilities were well kept, and there were even a few friendly cats on site! We stayed a few nights, took our small raft out on the river, and made a couple day trips to Cumberland Falls and Dogslaughter. Everyone we ran into at the campground was very friendly and tidy. Hammocking at the Sycamore right by the river made us feel like we had found heaven right there in Whitley County. Highly recommend and hope to stay there again soon.

Going to this property was one of the best camping trips ever. First off, the owners were the perfect blend of being extraordinarily responsive if you had questions, but completely giving you your space. I stayed at campsite 1 and it was BEAUTIFUL! I saw a ton of songbirds, herons, hawks, eagles, Kingfishers, mergansers and on and on. The fishing was outstanding. I caught about 25 small mouth, 4 red-eye, and 2 redear sunfish. All were small, but it was a great day on the water. The big sycamore by the river is the perfect place to hang out, it provides great shade all throughout the day. This place is exceptionally clean, quiet and peaceful. My favorite hipcamp place to date. I can't say enough good about this place.

The host Patrick was more than we could even ask for. Extremely friendly and accommodating. He's not hosting to nickel and dime you. He's hosting to give you a wonderful stay. Anything you need, just ask him.
That being said, the primitive campsite was wonderful. It is a good bit deep in the woods, very private, and feels like you're out in the forest away from everything, but not about 100 feet from the road. Be prepared to do a tiny bit of off roading. Would not recommend for very low vehicles. A normal sedan will do just fine if you don't mind if you rough through some grass, dirt, and a couple tiny branches. Also parking is about 50-100 feet from the site, so keep that in mind when packing your things
