The idea for creating a cabin rental/camping vacation getaway in the Allegheny Mountain Range came to life over several meetings at a Bob Evans restaurant in Columbus, Ohio, between co-owners Paul Liimatta and Joe Boffo. Joe had been accumulating land in the Genoa, West Virginia, area for several years and had dreamed of building cabins, tree houses and uniquely designed vacation rentals and campsites on a beautiful area called Hampton Ridge. Our group included a set of grandparents and a family of 4 with two toddlers. This was a private campground in a quiet area. Some campsites had electrical outlets that were not compatible with our setup, but we located ones that were. There was a play area for the kids with a bit of play equipment suitable for different age groups, and a horseshoe pit. The resident dogs were friendly and visited our sites each morning. The owner was friendly and helpful and made sure we were settled in and had what we needed. If you are looking for a quiet out-of-the-way campsite, not too many frills but all you need for a fun camping experience, as opposed to more modern, bustling camping experience, then this quaint campground is for you!

Amazing property with tons to explore. Host met us upon arrival and gave us all the details we needed. The overall property is rolling hills, fields, and forest. There are creeks, cliffs, rock walls, and more. The flat spot for an RV is plenty large enough for our little 17' RV, a table, and fire. Getting in and out with a large RV might be more of a challenge due to the layout. We pulled in on the right side of the hookups, and turned as far away from the road we could, but you really can't turn away from the completely. Maybe if you back in and cut just past the hookups? A larger RV might need to back in? Highway 11 is pretty noisy during the day (but has little traffic at night) as it is elevated from the campsite. The tent areas were probably quieter. The kids enjoyed the visits from the friendly dog, and we had another dog go on a hike with us. We got to pet the horses.
15 Minutes from Natural Bridge and driving distance to plenty of other Red River Gorge area hikes and sites.
No picnic table provided (clearly noted in amenities), so bring a table with you!

This site worked well for a 3 day weekend trip to Daniel Boone National Forest. I like quiet places that are secluded and this worked well. We got a site right next to a creek and there were 3 mountains on 3 sides. It was the end of lane so no houses, but the owner does live a few hundred feet way. Besides the owners, there was nobody else around and it was very quiet at night. The star gazing was incredible.

Great experience camping here for the first time . We arrived and greated upon arrival the man showed us the spots available and let us choose whichever we liked . The sites are nice and spacious with a fire pit set up . Had a great experience and would recommend to anyone looking for a camping location. Gas stations and food spots are also near by .

Our creekside camp was perfect! The creek is nice and clean, there are trails on the property and there’s even a small cave. There’s plenty of level ground for tents… and the view of the stars is awesome. It’s about 25 minutes to the Natural Bridge trail. The owners live on site and were very welcoming. We spent 3 days and 2 nights and had an amazing time!

This was a beautiful little farm to camp for the night. It would also be perfect for someone to make it their base camp to get away from everything then go explore during the day.
We spoke with the sweet couple who own the farm when we arrived. They are amazing 💗.
We camped next to the barns which housed horses. They were quiet and friendly.
It’s a perfect spot if you want privacy away from a campground. It’s considered a single sight so you have all the privacy.
Keep in mind, you are on someone’s farm and pretty much in their back yard, and will hear roosters crowing in the morning. However, it is still a private space for you/your group. We still had a fire, stayed up late, and played music 😊

We needed a place to stay while in transit to Chattanooga. We enjoyed hiking around to see some arches and decided to stay at the Boone valley primitive campsite. We had a great time the bathrooms were nice would reccomened a bench and place to put cloths. But other than that it was great.

Weekend Trip to Boone Valley Campground
Everything overall was perfect, got there super early set are tent up then the next morning moved to one of the more private spots with a table and chairs, my gfs car got stuck in mud and the man came and towed her out and then just went about his day, overall was very nice good area, the small town and tourist areas around the site was a very nice change of scenery 10/10 would recommend for anyone especially for the price
