Learn more about this land:Sleep in a 1985 VW Pop Top Vanagon! With top up, two can sleep below and two can sleep above, though we personally prefer using the upper space for storage. Van is outfitted with a small solar system, enough to charge phones, a lap top, lights (provided) and a fan (provided). We provide clean bed clothes for the bottom (main) bunk. Bed clothes are not provided for top bunk but there is a 1.5” pad. In necessary weather, we provide a Mr.Buddy propane heater as well as appropriate bed clothes. Van always has a carbon monoxide detector and extinguisher available. Feel free to set up a tent or hammocks. Two 5 gallon buckets are located behind the van, you can relocate these wherever you feel comfortable. One bucket is outfitted with a toilet seat lid, the other is filled with saw dust and a bag of TP. Please use this for waste as we have a running humanure composting system. Please also dispose of food waste in this bucket, with the exception of excess oil or meat, please use the small shovel to adequately bury this or pack it out.

Ohio River Private Paradise

Enjoy our private paradise with over 800 feet of riverfront on 17 acres along the shores of the beautiful Ohio River. We have a great landing for fishing, swimming, or kayaking. The sunsets are fantastic and the night sky incredible! Behold the barges passing by on the river as you unwind and relax in the peacefulness of nature! This is a primitive camp with three sites available for you to consider. Some things to know: We will provide a key code close to your arrival time so you can enter the gate by the road. If you are coming by river, we will put a flag on our landing. You can drive your vehicle right down to the sites. The farm is flat and easily navigated as long as it is dry. There will be a 5 gallon cooler of potable water for you to use. More water is available if we are at the property. We have 2 outhouses located on either end of the property. Firewood is plentiful by the river. We have some wood under a black tarp by the pavilion fire pit available for an additional fee. We have one neighbor who can make some noise with ORVs especially on weekends. Red Dog Ridge Campground

Learn more about this land:Almost to the top of the developed landscape above Clay City, Ky, outside of most light pollution from the big cities, is a tiered piece of land with a creek running through it. Clay City is less than 30 Minutes to; Red River Gorge, Pilot Knob, and Natural Bridge. At the bottom of the hill is a lake for paddling and fishing, and you cross the Red River coming and going to the property. Any sort of outdoor activity including paddling in an old mine or top rope climbing in the gorge. I live at the far end of the field over looking the creek, with my dog who the property is named after, so if their are any issues I am near by. There are 3 seperate areas located in the forest, and along the creek, for individual parties or small groups to camp. A recreation trail for walking/hiking or mountain biking (If you just have to get on your bike after being in the car and would like something better than the parking lot) is available on the land starting at the end of the parking lot by the entrance. At the moment there is only primitive camping available, but plans for off grid cabins, and open air shelters are in the works.
